A beautiful day to the hopefuls. The bone shall rise again if HE wills. |
ishmael: i have HND and Bsc both in the same course. All i am saying is that let the truth be said about HND in nigeria. Polytechnic HND holders have skills that make them comparable with Bsc holders. I also have a friend that lectures in a first generation uni. He does nt ve a Bsc but he is a PhD holder now and is addressed as a 'Dr'. He has ND, HND, PGD, Msc, and PhD. He was employed to lecture with his Msc and was offered admission to run PhD. He was very lucky. The truth is that i did and learnt more in the polytechnic than in the uni. Let those concern stop playing politics with the HND qualification. It is good to know that you have both,Bro.Most of the courses I am taking now in the so called university serve as revision for me.Now, on the issue of your friend with HND that went ahead to do PHD.I will say he was lucky.I know and have heard of people that were denied PHD programmes because of the fact that their "first degree" was at HND level.A lecturer from UI once narrated his ordeal in one of the national dailies. He had to go for B.SC when he couldn't withstand the limitations he was facing.Your point is really understandable:there should not be any discrimination against the HND holders.Unfortunately, those people who have what it takes to make the much needed change don't consider it as a serious issue because their wards can never be found in the polytechnics for obvious reasons.Tell me, do you think the sons and daughters of highly placed public office holders, politicians, business moguls, ploicy makers ,etc can be found in the monotechnics or the polytechnics?Only a few cases. So, for now it is good to play along and do the needful." A disease that cannot be cured must be endured," so says an adage. |
My brother,Ismael,I can feel your pain.I have HND in Electrical-Electronics Engineering from one the best polytechnics in Nigeria and also graduated with a nice grade. The dichotomy between HND and B.SC,B.ENG or B.TECH in Nigeria has been in existence for a very long time.General Obasanjo, during the twilight of his administration tried to put an end to this, but change in government and lack of continuity made the trend persists. We all know the roles of each cadre of class of the Engineering family. The different functions accounted for the difference in curricula. All things being equal, there ought not to be any form of discrimination against the HND holders, especially holders with engineering background(no disregards meant for other fields), but Nigerian system has chosen to make it like that. The piece of advice I will give to you is to upgrade yourself. Please, note that going for PGD with the aim of obtaining Masters degree to be at parity with the university colleague won't solve the problem totally:reference will still be made to your "first degree" at a higher level-I know what I am talking about. The best way,I think, to be free of discrimination is to go for a linkage programme to B.Sc programme,if you are so eager and other factors like age, family responsibility, time, etc are on the positive note for you. This could be done by enrolling with institutions that offer such programmes:like UNISA, University of Portsmouth, etc. If you are an Engineering student, then, UNISA may be good for you.It is an online Programm, whereby you don't need to travel outside Nigeria before getting your B.TECH.Other foreign instititions like Uni Prthsmouth,Westend College require that you travel out for the programme. There are other options available within Nigeria here: UNIPORT offers a special bridge progamme for HND holders, this programme often lasts for three academic sessions.Still on options available in Nigeria, you can obtain Direct Entry back into 300L(Only very few can do this).Mr Ismael, as at present I am upgrading myself using one of the aforementioned Nigerian options and I am really doing great CGPA-wise, despite the fact that I am working. On a final note, educational achievement is an individual thing: one can get to the top even with SSCE or OND without HND or the much talked about B.SC. You are lifted Bro.Remember, que sera sera |
@MCnepow.Davo3256 and others who have gotten the materials, please send the materials to this address: God bless you. |
Fingers still crossed.Let's wait and see what happens between now and Friday next week.Meanwhile, this is not the first time they will be deleting posts on their wall. The post written to inform the hopefuls of interview invitation had been deleted since,so I don't personally see that to mean or imply anything. Remember, que sera sera.Peace. |
@Omomope, I beleive that your assertion as touching the true nature of the said NNPC FB may be correct. However, this page has been given updates concerning this recruitment exercise since June ,2011.Four days before the invitation for interview were sent out, I read it from that FB page that invitations would be sent and it came to pass.Besides, in September ,2011, posts were made on that same page that interviews were about being concluded and that successful applicants would be contacted.Series of information like invitatatoon of youth to join one african NGO, pieces of advise on the need to abstain from casual sex (during the VAL period), conducting opinion survey on fuel subsidy ,among others. Most of the information posted on that page since last year that I have been monitoring it have proven to always been true. On the issue of nnpc.com and nnpcgroup.com,I was informed that the former was the one NNPC was using before 2010 .My submission concerning this piece of information that it is 93% real and correct, though I may not be 100% correct. It is my desire to come here and give testimony. You are all lifted, meet you guys on top! |
Bro, pls go for the B.ENG programme and not HND.The time and money is worth it.I am an HND holder but I am back in school again for my B.ENG.(obtained DE into 300 Level)If I had this opportunity of yours then,I would have gotten it right once and for all.Nigerian system does not encourage HND certificate. Please, my brother it is not all about YABATECH ," HND is HND" I finished from that school about three years ago with Upper Credit and I am now working, but the truth is that Nigeria system has relegated HND certificate. There are many lucrative job adverts where it is stated that only University degree holders can apply.Just of recent, coys like UNILEVER,GSK, OANDO and the likes placed adverts and only University Graduates were short listed. Organization like Shell does not employ HND gradute ;it's either OND or B.Sc. Only few oil and gas coys take HND at gradute level: SLB,NNLNG and NNPC do take HND holders, but then the designation given to them is widely different from that of their B.ENG couterparts. For example,in SLB HND graduates at entry level are given the title Field Technologist, while their B.ENG friends are called Field Engineers:NNLNG refer to HND graduates as either Technician or Operators(not even Technologist).Besides, you can easily go for your Masters after your B.ENG without passing through the rigour of PGD.Besides, if you are very serious academically, you may have opportunity to various scholarships unlike in the polytechnic where such an opportunity is very rare. In conclusion, go to OAU , get it right, free from HND-B.SC dichotomy complexity, avail yourself to the more obvious opportunities and be happy. |
@Mistaya and Tonesky, look at the date the information was posted. |
To God be the Glory.NNPC or not, it is well. As I have always said, we can play our own little part to ensure that this recruitment process comes to a logical conclusion. It was suggested that we should exercise a bit of patience sometime ago not to storm GEJ's wall.In fact, we were hearing series of information from "reliable sources" that letters will be released within a certain time frame. This actually calmed most nerves, including mine.Just two weeks ago the most reliable and respected mouth and forumite on NNPC hopeful thread in Naijahtjb told us with all levels of certainty(I am not saying this to disrespect him because of the way Government changes its mind frequently) that letters would roll out latest by Friday last week.I even came here to inform the house.Nothing has happened up till this moment.I am happy to hear that guys have started storming GEJ wall with reasonable comments concerning DPR,NNPC and other government agencies suspended or prolong recruitment exercise.A forumite from naijhtjbs made this known. Personally, I think it is a welcome development because this is the best time to act or never.Though our action may not change anything, but let us do this to satisfy our conscience and provide answer to this basic question that might be asked by this present generation and generations to come;"What efforts did you make like the youth of other clime?" We should remember that by law, any recruitment that lasts longer than twelve calendar months can be cancelled with or without any explanation. Our destinies are in our own hands. I have not come here to say all these because I am jobless: justice must prevail and what one deserves must not be denied of one. With all sense of modesty, I work in a manufacturing multinational organization of high repute with a take home of above 100k, but that does not mean that one should fold arms and allow better opportunities go by.Even if I am not shortlisted at the end of the day,I will take it with good mind, congratulate the successful ones and be happy that the process is concluded. Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year in advance.Enjoy the best of the season and always remember that: with or without NNPC, it is well even in the well. Shalom. |
Good morning and happy new week to all the hopefuls. This week seems to be very crucial and important as it relates to NNPC 2010 recruitment. The speculation going round now is that letter s will roll out this week. Some even informed hopefuls to be checking their mail boxes as from 2:00pm Nigerian time today. If this piece of information is anything to go by,then I say congratulatoons to all the hopefuls and wish us all the very best of luck.Remember, with or without NNPC, all is well |
paint:Nice one there. Thanks for the encouragement. Just that 'hoping continuously for a long time can weaken the spirit.' Anyway, NNPC or not, what will be will surely be.All is well. |
The suggestion that I once made(though not exactly, but something similar) here is now being considered as one of the things brilliant hopefuls should try in another forum. The person making such a suggestion is one of the few respected mouths in the forum.Interestingly, this guy was not invited for the interview but he's really disturbed about the whole thing.Should we wait till a final pronouncement is made before we swing into action. Our destinies is in our own hands.Let's assume that they don't have the intention of cancelling the process, going on media to let the world know the issue at stake,to me, is not a bad idea. It is about time we stopped complaining and take charge before things get out of hand.Yesterday, the Minister for Petroleum held a close door meeting with the Senators. Some hopefuls believed that something good might come out of this, but then, let us be proactive. In as much as I need this job,I know that my name may not be there if the list is eventually released(though I am very optimistic),but it will be a thing of joy that the recruitment comes to a logical end.Coming here to make this call is not really out of joblessness;with all sense of modesty,I work in a , multinational manufacturing company well known with a take home slightly above 100k, but the point is that we should not be silent when things like this is happening and what one deserves should be given to one.It hapens in 2008,nothing happened, should it occur in this current process again!!! Guys, even though they are going to release the list 'today', let us look at this suggestion of mine and make a noise. |
@da student, thanks a bunch. I thought the price has reduced to like 95 or 93 k.So how much does GalaxyNexus go for? |
Oh GOD, look at your Creations and have mercy:this recruitment exercise must not go the way it went in 2008!!! Guys have invested much in this 'project':time, money and expectations.Nobody seems to have a very good understanding of the real situation!!! This is 'killing'.GOD have your way. |
@ALL, please what is the current price of Samsung Galaxy S2? Your prompt reply will be highly appreciated. |

Pls house,I would like to know the current price of SGS2 and whether it comes with MS Powerpoint. Thanks as you reply. |
deltalife:Could you please be elaborate on this? |
hideray:Hey guy,I need more info about the sales of form, the available courses, study centre(s) in Lagos and the programme in general.I will appreciate it if you can give me your contact or send your contact to ... Thanks and hoping to hear from you. |
Syenite:Oga Syenite, I hail oo.Thanks for the update. |
jimngam:Hmmm, you made a very valid point ,my brother. The "project" might be hijacked by certain individuals to make the initiative counter productive. Thanks bros, this is noted. |
lighternote:Well said, sister.I believe so much in the lifestyles of Martin Luther King(Jnr) and Bishop Desmond Tutuh of South Africa. Without violence of any form, they were able to make their feelings known to the world. We can achieve similar feat via the electronic media, but then divided we fall and united we stand. |
It’s a free world. I wish you all the best and would also like this NNPC stuff to speedily come to an end with testimony. Everyday I see lots of folks looking for job and many even looking for their daily bread. I know that when this recruitment comes to an end with offer letter s, lots of peeps would change job, some would get their 1st job, and while other would create space in their current job they are tired off: as others are also praying to be in their shoes. I would support this recruitment with my prayer as I already did today in church. Merci!
Your point is noted, sir. Many hopefuls keep on checking the thread(as indicated by the number of views after my first post today) without saying anything.Well, the continued silence has an obvious meaning. All is well. |
You guyz have not gotten the job yet u have alreay form a group and plan to start Aluta against mgt? I wouldnt if where u. Your group would not only go out of control, it would also inform more highly connected peep of the employment opening and they would. Increase their lobbying for the job! Also your fake ids can be traced and related to NL and from there lead to your real names and nnpc might not like this kinda Aluta. I suject you pray instead!
A million thanks for your contribution ,sir. In fact, that is why the saying that two good heads are better than one will always remain valid.Your expressed opinion on this matter is highly appreciated and may God bless you abundantly for calling our attention to some areas. Sir, probably you don't read the post I made concerning "this issue" very well. The proposed action is not,in any way, synonymous to ALUTA, NO,GOD forbid!!! It is meant to serve as a platform to plead, beg and pray that the number one citizen comes to our rescue and ensure that the process is successfully concluded and not truncated like that of 2008.Besides, we also hope to use the platform to seek for his intervention and ensure that the best candidates per state get the job. Bros, it has been agreed that all our utterances shall be polite, civil, void of vulgar language and any negative comments and I want to believe that we won't derail from it. Sir, I understand your concern about the new individual ID's been traced to NL. On this issue, I want to say that the only way the true identity of an individual could be unveiled on NL is through E-Mail adddress the individual used to register and probably through uploaded pictures(if any). Now, in as much as ones E-Mail address is not made public in ones profile, no one can have access to it except the administrator or probably the moderator(s).Apart from that, not everyone uses his/her usual E-Mail address(I mean the normal E-mail we use for official correspondence that shows real name and often written on CV's ) on social interactive site like this where scammers can have access to. Hence, those E-mail addresses if typed on FB will not reveal anything. Please, I will appreciate it if all the hopefuls could air their views on this matter like my brother,nne_mak, just did.It is obvious that meaningful conclusion can be reached ,as to whether to go ahead or not, by brainstorming. If you are in support of this idea that while we pray to GOD for a successful conclusion and a transparent process; that we can still go a step further by involving the number one citizen, then say 'hi'. If you think that it is OK by praying to GOD alone without this proposed action ,let us know as well. Contributions ,comments and criticisms are welcome. Your contributions will determine what happens next.Happy new week |
Hello hopefuls,my name is Badmus Gold.It is high time we started the SOS campaign;add me on FB(with your unreal ID) so that the process can begin.Remember the rule? Be polite and don't allow emotion take the better part of you. Goodluck as we go there. |
Obinoscopy:Noted, this will be launched on or before 8th November. All is well. |
lonamy:Well, I don't think the mail is from NNPC ,though nothing is totally impossible . During the accreditation process for the interview,we provided the information concerning our account details.I want to believe that it might be a scam.Tell your friend to look at the sender's E-Mail address very well so as not to fall into wrong hands. |
PLEASE EVERYBODYYYYY, I want to know whether it is possible to have an ID(exam number) with four digits.I am asking because my younger sister that sat for the test sent her exam number(ID) to me so that I could help her check the result online.I was surprised when I saw this,"Wrong Student ID. It must be 6 Digits " appear on the screen.I called her to confirm the ID again and she told me that some candidates have exam number(ID) with four digits as well. Please I want you guys to tell me whether this is true.Do you have an exam number(ID ) with four digits or know someone that has it? |
So many conflicting info from different 'reliable' sources: the latest from naijahotjobs now is that 10GT/state,15 OP/state and 100EH is the breakdown analysis of the slots. All fingers still crossed, waiting for the the D-day. |
