Any input on this?
PropertiesAssistance Needed For Purchasing Land With Verified Documentation In Oshogbo by SilaV(op):
Dear All,

I am considering purchasing a plot of land in Oshogbo for the purpose of constructing a residential building. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations for reputable and registered property firms with positive reviews.

It is imperative that the land includes all necessary and verifiable legal documentation to ensure a transparent and secure transaction. While Oshogbo remains my primary preference, I am also open to considering nearby suburbs.

I would prefer to work with a registered real estate firm rather than individual sellers to ensure the credibility of the process. Your advice, suggestions, and referrals will be highly valued.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!
NYSCNeed Help With NYSC Redeployment by SilaV(op): 12:31am On Aug 31, 2024
Hello Everyone,

Please, an acquaintance of mine needs help regarding redeployment from the state in South-South to a state in South West ( not Lagos ) . The individual is currently at the orientation camp (Batch B), and would like to get this done so that before the end of the camping exercise, the relocation process would have scaled through. This person is ready to make reasonable payment to get it done. Please, if you know or have the right contact that can get this done, send me a DM so that I can give you the preferred state in the South West, and other needed information, and I will get back to you without any delay.

DoubleNn:
Since April 1, the $300 has become part of the EB2 NIW fees. Apparently, petitioners that are not employers are also considered to be under those who employ 0-25.

So you have to select NO to question 5 (the non profit question) and YES to question 6 (the question about being an employer that employs 0-25)

Until you do this, and add the $300 as a seperate fee, they'll keep returning the petition.

As wild as it sounds, it's what it is.
Hello @DoubleNn, I sent you a DM.

TL:DR;
As a African Man living in diaspora, try as much as you can to avoid Groups where you will be the only African Person in that Group, if being part of such a group will not put food on your Table at this very moment or in the near future.

After Living in Vietnam, Turkey, Poland, Germany and now in Canada, initially as a Student and now as a Skilled Worker, I decided to share a rarely talked about reality of living as an African guy in a foreign Country where the majority are non-Blacks.

It is this Unspoken Reality of "Special Group Isolation" that every other Race of Humans instinctively falls into when they are in a group where there is just one African Guy.
Speaking as a Programmer, this behaviour plays out every single time as if it were a code programmed into every other Race of people as an automatic response to when they are in a Group with a Single African Man.

I can't speak for the African Women because I don't have their experiences.

Why do I call it "Special Group Isolation"? I will try to explain it as much as I can using texts, although a lot of it appears through body Languages and tiny bits of subtle Cues which are difficult to really detail in writings.

As a African Guy, at some point you are bound to find yourself in a Group where you are the only African in that Group. For example;
1. Living in a Shared Student Apartment,
2. Participating in a Student Project Group,
3. Being in a Workplace where you have to work in a Group Task,
4. Being part of a fun Activity that is a Group thing

You get it?

Now here is how this "Special Group Isolation" plays out.

Lets say you are a Student. You've been assigned to work in a class team project in a Team consisting of 5 People.
In your Team, you have:
You,
Mr India from India,
Mr Arab from Morocco,
Mr Caucasian From Australia,
Mr Asian from China

Here is a picture of what you'd likely experience.

• At first everyone gets to know each other.
• Then Mr India and Mr Arab will become very chatty with Mr Caucasian(who would simply be acknowledging their chattiness) to feed his Ego.
• Mr China would also be part of the Conversation and would likely be the only one who takes time to Honestly respond or talk with you.
•Overtime, Mr China would realize that Mr Arab, Mr India and Mr Caucasian have formed a sort of Clique with an unspoken Rule of putting down any Contribution to the Teamwork coming from you, and also holding their own separate meetings outside of the Group where they wont invite you. He can also see that by being close to you, he is gradually also being isolated by the Trio of Mr Arab, Mr India and Mr Caucasian, therefore he'll space away from you so that he can be accepted by the 'Majority'.
• At this point, the Group will make it a point to only discuss the Teamwork with reference to what they discussed during those meetings where you were not invited. This way, you would be relegated to an inconsequential member of the Team.

The best case scenario would be you questioning them about why they held meetings without your knowledge in a Project that was supposed to be a Team Project, and they responding that it wasn't really a Meeting, but a coincidence that they happened to meet while you were not there.
But this is a best case scenario. Most times, worse would happen.

I have found myself in this scenario lots of times, but since I upgraded my skills to a point where I get job offers without even applying, I just walk away from any Job where this "Special Group Isolation" starts playing out.

Unfortunately, a lot of my African brothers in Diaspora have no Skills. Some have Skills but zero self-esteem. The moment they get the Special Group Isolation Treatment, I always see them throw away their dignity and start acting submissive, putting on super Smiley Faces in a begging attempt to be accepted because their livelihood depends on being accepted by other Groups of People.

This is why I advice my friends to get a good Skill before leaving Nigeria, or sacrifice the initial Years of landing Abroad to doing so. Because in the presence of an African Man, every other Race sees themselves as one and automatically Unite to suppress you when they know you dont have a Choice.

This has always been the Case(Remember how the Persians, Greeks and Arabs united to bring down Kemet AKA Ancient Egypt un the year 525 BCE?). And this will always be the Case as long as we Africans chose to remain dumb to the reality of how other Group of people are united against us.
God bless you mightily for this post. I can 100% relate. The reason is I have also been there! That is the exact case scenario. I think the best country for the black is still the U.S. Yes, people do talk about police brutality and racism, but Canada is worse. The Indians, Arabs, Caucasians, and Chinese often treat the 'only African guy' as a piece of shit( inconsequential) either in the workplace or at school (if in the same project group). People pretend this is not happening; I don't know why. I even wanted to open a thread regarding this topic a few months back but chose to exercise restraint. The treatment 'the only African guy' in the workplace receives from Indians, Arabs, and Caucasians is very distasteful, which can lead to mental health or loss of self-esteem. I repeat Canada is the worst country concerning silent and systemic racism against the black. People who don't know might want to argue, but that is true. My one cents to any black dude living in Canada is twofold: (1) get the right skill sets so that you can have the choice to negotiate which organization you want to work for. This means you have the choice to pick because you have the skill sets. Hence, you can quit immediately if you sense any of this puts 'him in the circle syndrome'. Also, it's good to ask the 'diversity' question during your interview, with specific attention to the percentage of Africans ( or blacks). (2) Get your Canadian citizenship and port to the USA with a TN Visa. I repeat, the USA is by far a better country for Africans than Canada career-wise to a black African. Sometimes, Africans don't know that the presence of Black Americans in the USA is indeed a very big blessing to them. I do laugh at the way smart African- Americans talk down on their Black American Cousins regarding their behaviour in general ( the way they sag, dress, etc). Trust me, if these black Americans were in Canada( based on their population and their aggressive, 'don't try shit with me behaviour'), the likes of the Indians, Chinese and even the Caucasians would be forced to behave.

Highlights
1. The underlying reason for endsars is not clear. It is a low priority issue
2. There is no massacre. There was abuse.
3. Federal Government under LP will expand Federal Police
4. We will accommodate peaceful civil protests
5. Naira is not over valued. Nigerians love naira.
6. Campaign on hold because Peter Obi is not available.

Producer was going to take commercial break and extend the interview but Dr Ahmed was so incoherent and inarticulate that the interview was cut short, and ended before the break.

They call this man educator, academician. I begin wonder after listening, who has this man been tutoring? Very poor articulation, poor sentence construction, poor aptitude.

He is better than Obi, but a disgrace for executive office.

I will be back to tackle each of the six points above.

Shame on obidients. Your VP said there was no massacre.
I'm not sure if it's the same interview I watched. It was a highly technical interview that required deep thinking before talking uncontrolled, except a prior rehearsal had been done. I can assure you that he answered all the questions smartly and intelligently. Remember, this is politics we are talking about. Once the words come out in a time like this, it would require a lot of damage control to put things back to normalcy. Dr. Datti is such a very eloquent, intelligent, smart and very careful individual. He is such a deep thinker, and likes to exercise restraint when he speaks. This, I have observed concerning him.

All the points you raised up there were perfectly answered by him. Watch the interview again; this time with an open mind.
He expanded on all the issues you put up there very well. You appear to only quote those short sentences that appeal to you just to discredit the erudite Dr. The interview was never never cut short. It was the normal duration being given to guest on this same program ( Politics Today) that he used, and he did excellently well; very coherent, articulate, and was very definitive, and open-ended where necessary. I'm not sure if you have been following interview sessions on TV to see how guests were being put on hold while they were making points because of the need to go on short break. The challenge I see with some Nigerians is that they either like to deliberately distort facts or they are simply ignorant of facts and procedure. I wish you well!

If I had not taken my time to watch the full interview, I would probably might have been misled by your post. I'm not sure how many individuals would like to verify your claim here before helping to share these piles of lies. And that is a major challenge we tend to have nowadays; some people don't verify information before taking actions! Once again, I wish you well!

Hello @ Pearl1212(f),

Please, take a bit of time to read through this. First, I would like you to consider the advice of these usernames: @Dettogel, @MilitantAtheist, @Yankee101, and @Corporate2020. You are still very young and your course of study is a hot cake if you could concentrate on any thing like Data Analytics, and also learn useful coding languages. One of the ways this can be achieved is if you plan to study abroad. To be specific, try the USA. please, think 'globally'. These are the steps:

(1) Do a credential evaluation. You may use the World Education Services (WES) or any other credential evaluation bodies. However, WES appears to be the most commonly and widely accepted. The result will state that you have an equivalence of a USA degree.
(2) You may write the GRE. It helps you get funding faster and easier. It also helps during the visa interview. Without the GRE, people still get fundings and do get their visa as well. What I am saying is that it helps boost the chances.
(3) English Language Proficiency may be required. However, most schools in the USA do waive this requirement to Nigerians.

With the three conditions above, alongside your stellar GPA(distinction), you can get a full ride tuition free and a monthly stipend package in the USA. Please, check the USA student thread on Nairaland here. I have younger ones I'm mentoring , and do advise them never to try going for a 3-year direct entry or any top-up degree; it's a waste of time. This is the reason: the same three years, you can achieve a lot by traveling to the USA, get a master's degree with Graduate Assistantship position that covers your tuition and living expenses( in form of monthly stipend). In the third year, you are already working on Optional Practical Training(OPT) or on H1-B, thereby contributing meaningfully to your own wellbeing and those of your parents or siblings. You may also have started your doctoral program if you wish to pursue a PhD. You can now see the HUGE difference.

I was once in your shoes some years back but could not get this kind of advice I'm offering now. I went ahead to do a B.Sc but later realized it was not really necessary after being in the 'saner climes'. I have seen lot of peeps with HND who came for direct masters degree and now working with top 500 fortune companies in the world. Some are now Assistant Professors in schools with higher rating than any of the best universities in Nigeria.

At times, when I read comments here on Nairaland about how HND is a 'useless' certificate, not a degree, or not equivalent to a B.Sc, I feel the ignorance being displayed. To put things straight, a holder of HND going for B.Sc in the same field is just like someone with MENG enroling for M.Sc again. The supposed research component of B.Sc is what makes the difference. A university is given the name because it is a research institution. The purpose for establishing Polytechnics and Monotechnics is different from that of a university. This purpose does not make a B.Sc superior to HND. For those who might want to argue, please, note that I have both certificates from the supposed top Polytecnics and universities in Nigeria, so, it's not a case of 'rubishing' what one does not have. The education system in Nigeria needs a complete overhauling. Now, think of this, if some of the best institutions in the world domicile in the USA have no problem in admitting HND holders directly into their Master's program, while universities in Nigeria with very low world rankings are feeling like 'Superheroes', then you should know something is wrong with the thinking process and our systems. If top organizations in the USA like IBM, Intel,HoneyWell(not the one in Nigeria please), top banks, and other giant coys see no problem in employing individuals with HND holder undergraduate background, then we should understand that all is not well with our priorities, thinking process. Unfortunately, society has been fed with that very wrong notion about HND! Okay, read this story of Ibrahim Waziri: https://www.farooqkperogi.com/2016/09/ibrahim-waziri-from-hnd-in-nigeria-to.html

I am sure, if it was in Nigeria, he might still be reminded that he had no B.Sc. So, please, let's have a change of attitude towards this HND degree and think globally!

Enough of this epistle! @ Pearl1212(f), if you are interested in advancing your career without wasting any time in the name of going for another three-year B.Sc or one -year PGD, please, follow the steps above. There are lots of Nairalanders in USA Students thread that would be of help and guide you. You can send me a PM if you need mentorship in this area (this is completely optional and not important, as you will get enough information on Nairaland).

Thanks for your response, and expressing your opinion regarding the offer. I did a review of it already. However, I think Getting 8,000 naira per 4hours, for teaching remotely, and using an approximately 8GB worth of data is not a bad deal. The pay rate now is 12,000 naira/ four hours. There are lots of very cheap data plans out there, even within nairaland here. This will translate to 24,000 naira/ 8 hrs, every two weeks. This should be fair enough.

Foreign AffairsRe: Taliban Fighters ’round Up Women Into Car Park Like Cattle’ & Open Fire(Pix,vid) by SilaV: 2:16am On Sep 08, 2021
Ibkhaleel:
Anti-Muslim demagoguery relies on the demonization of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam), who is characterized by Islam-hating liars as being especially violent and warlike. This propaganda has certainly gained currency in the “Judeo-Zionist-Freemasonic-Christian West”. When it is pointed out that the Biblical prophets–including Moses, Joshua, Samson , Saul , David , among many others–were far more violent and warlike (and even engaged in religiously sanctioned genocide ), anti-Muslim pro-Christian ideologues will respond by disregarding or downplaying the Old Testament and will instead focus on the personality of Jesus (‘Eesa alaihissalaam) in the New Testament.

Didn’t Jesus preach nonviolence and “loving one’s enemies”? The anti-Muslim ideologues use this idea to assault the religion of Islam with. For example, the Catholic apologist shaitaan Robert Spencer compares Islam to Christianity by juxtaposing carefully selected quotes from Jesus to Islamic texts. In his book The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) , Spencer includes a “Muhammad vs Jesus” section. He cites the following sayings of Jesus in the Bible:

“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you”

“If anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also”

“Blessed are the peacemakers”

“Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy”

“But love your enemies, and do good”

These so-called “peaceful” verses of the Bible are compared to select battle revealed-Quranic verses. The violent verses of the Bible “don’t count” and are craftily excluded from the comparison (“that’s just the Old Testament!”). To tighten the noose, peaceful verses of the Glorious Qur’an are also excluded from the heavily biased analysis, the shaitaan  gives his evil reason for that: these “don’t count” since they are supposedly from when Muhammad was still in Mecca.

To understand the last point, one needs to have a basic understanding of the Prophet Muhammad’s (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) biography: he first declared his prophethood in the city of Makkah. Only a very small segment of society accepted him (mostly the weak and poor), whereas the masses–especially the powerful leaders of the city–not only rejected him but actively persecuted him. The chapters of the Qur’an that were revealed during this period are known as the Makkan chapters. Eventually, Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) was commanded by God to fled to the city of Madinah, whose people accepted him as their ruler. He went from persecuted prophet to ruler and commander-in-chief of a fledgling city-state.

The anti-Muslim ideologues claim that the peaceful and tolerant verses of the Qur’an come from when Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) was weak and persecuted in Mekkah. According to this islamophobe Baboon, These verses are “cancelled”, they argue, by the violent-sounding verses in the Medinan chapters.
Robert Spencer writes in his book:

Islamic theology divides the Qur’an into “Meccan” and “Medinan” suras [chapters]. The Meccan ones come from the first segment of Muhammad’s career as a prophet, when he simply called the Meccans to Islam. Later, after he fled to Medina, his positions hardened. The Medinan suras [are]…filled with matters of law and ritual–and exhortations to jihad warfare against unbelievers. The relatively tolerant verses quoted above and others like them generally date from the Meccan period, while those with a more violent and intolerant edge are mostly from Medina.

The Islamophobe deceivers portray Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) as opportunistic:

when he was weak and under the rule of the pagans, he called for peace. Without being in a position of authority, Muhammad was hardly in a position to do otherwise. As soon as he came to power, however, he waged “jihad warfare” (what a strange phrase!) against them. This is why, they argue, the peaceful verses of the Quran simply “don’t count”.

For now, however, we will demonstrate that, using such logic, it is equally possible to invalidate the “peaceful” sayings of Jesus. While he was a persecuted prophet, Jesus advocated nonviolence and peaceful resistance. He was hardly in a position to do otherwise, right? Once in power, however, this changes dramatically and violent warfare becomes the new
modus operandi .

God has allowed for just wars throughout the history of His people. From Abraham to Deborah to David, God’s people have fought as instruments of judgment from a righteous and holy God. Romans 13:1-4 tells us to submit ourselves to government authorities and that nations have the right to bear the sword against evildoers, both foreign and domestic.

Violence occurs, but we must recognize the difference between holy judgment on sin and our own personal vendettas against those we dislike, which is the inevitable outcome of pride

Jesus sayings...

Luke 19:27 But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and kill them in my presence.

Death and destruction will be the fate of whoever does not accept Jesus’ reign as Warrior King.
This was hardly an innocuous story. It reminds us of a scene in the movie Gladiator when the evil Roman emperor Commodus tells his nephew a story about an “emperor” who was betrayed by his sister (“his own blood”) and how he “struck down” her son as revenge. (Watch it here.) The story was a thinly veiled threat, as was Jesus’ parable.

One can only hardly imagine how Islamophobes like Robert Spencer would react had it been the Prophet Muhammad who had used such a violent parable, threatening to return to earth in order to “slay” anyone who “did not want me to reign over them”! This would certainly “count” since all violence in the Quran “counts” whereas whatever is peaceful in the Quran “doesn’t count”, and whatever is violent in the Bible “doesn’t count” and whatever is peaceful in the Bible “counts”. Heads I win, tails you lose.
Hello dude(@Ibkhaleel),
I can see you trying so hard to defend what is quite obvious to even the blind what the faith you practice currently represents regarding violence, rights of women, tolerance, and all. You seem to always try to make a case that Christianity is at equal level or even worse when it comes to issue of rights, peaceful co-existence and the likes. The worst of Christianity was the era of the OLD testament, which the advent of Jesus eradicated through His message of Love. Your faith is still in the era of the laws of the biblical OLD Testament ( even doing worse as of the moment). Christianity is about Jesus Christ and His teaching. Now, see the rebuttal to the portion of the Bible you quoted, attributing to Jesus in the next paragraph.

Let me take you on the part of the scriptures you culled out of Luke chapter 19 verse 27. In order to disappoint you and your likes, I would suggest you start reading from verse 11 of that same chapter ( i.e: Luke Chapter 19 verses 11 to 28), and come back here to continue this conversation. It was a simple parable of a King Jesus was narrating, depicting what the king's actions, speeches, and reactions were in that story he was narrating. Read the verses I quoted again, and make your comment.

That being said, Jesus Christ is the basis of Christianity and HE represents everything peaceful. Did you know that at the point of him being arrested, one of His disciples drew out a sword and cut off the right ear of one Malhcus (one of the high priest's servants) who wanted to arrest Jesus? Did you know what Jesus did? He put the severed ear back to Malchus ( still healed someone who wanted to arrest him) , and warned His disciples against violence,( read Luke Chapter 22 verses 49 to 51, and John Chapter 18 verses 10 and 11). Only a very peaceful individual can do this.

You guys only want to feel good by wanting to create a feeling that Christianity is also violent. Now, let's assume for a second that in time past both religions were violent, what keeps you guys from stop being violent going forward? In recent times, how many christian countries or regions within a country are characterized with intolerance, violence, abuse of women rights or terrorism? Do the statistics. I am sure having mentioned the likes of UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and a few islamic countries, you guys would lost count of any violent-free,war-free islamic countries that also have respect for women. Someone like you would prefer your daughter or sister to study and stay(leave) in most western christian countries instead of the likes of the so-called Saudi Arabia, UAE,and the likes for obvious reasons.
It is only good to work on your religion to be more tolerant, have respect for women, and be more open-minded than looking for excuse that it is a western propaganda. The facts are staring at everyone in the eye yet you guys are screaming , 'It is western propaganda!'
Una no dey shame for once?
Foreign AffairsRe: We Founded, Recruited Taliban And Alqaeedah; Hilary Clinton (vid) by SilaV:
The information in this video is not as depicted by the topic. Let's take a balanced and unbiased analysis of the situation. The USA made a political move by trying to whittle down the influence of Soviet Union, who invaded Afghanistan. Of course, the response of the USA was to move in swiftly to train some set of Pakistani and Afghans, who later became mujahidin and later different forms of terrorist groups, to repel the invasion of Soviet Union. These mujahidin were initially not terrorists, but later became one due to the training and ammunition they had access to.

Setting the record straight, the USA never sponsored them as terrorist groups. If the line of logic some people here are trying to put forward is sacrosanct, then it would be fair to say that GOD should be held responsible for creating Satan. At the point of creation Satan was not the Devil he later became. We should also blame the government for empowering military guys who later went to rob. These military guys were trained for a just course but chose to use the training the wrong way. Using same line of argument, one would also blame a company for upgrading the skills of an employee IT expert , who later hacked their sensitive information and compromised such. This line of argument is endless.
Now the question; is the USA totally innocent? I will say no. The USA, like every other world powers, wants to benefit from any thing they get involved in. It could be the natural resources of such a country or to use such a country as a military base in other to have access to other rival country of interest. This is my view regarding the USA involvement. Does USA sponsor terrorist? Absolutely no.

Let's look at these countries in Africa: Sudan, and Somalia. And other countries in the Middle East. Now, let's look at the Northern part of Nigeria. A particular religion is dominant in these places, and we all know how peaceful or otherwise these places are. The truth is some religion are more peaceful than the other. Islam, they say, is a peaceful religion, but I'm not convinced with all that I have seen.
Most Nigerian young Muslims that are leaving the country hardly go to Islamic dominated countries, but would prefer to go to USA, Canada, France, UK, Australia, Switzerland , and other Christian dominated countries. These young educated individuals can defend the religion but would not want to live where this is practiced to the fullest. The ladies that practice this religion prefer to be in these Christian dominated countries due to the freedom they enjoy. Surprisingly, they are also quick to criticize same countries that offer them what their religion denies them. This is simply true. But these guys are very quick to pass the blame of their intolerance and violent nature on others. Ask them to travel and live in these Islamic countries, they won't, but they will be agitating for a right they never had in countries that practice their religion.
Anger, violence, aggression, intolerance are some of the things that I have seen characterize the religion. We all saw what happened in France, Germany, and some other countries that offered to help asylum seekers from these Islamic countries. These guys are simply living in denial. I will stop here.
The simple point I'm making is that the Islamic faith needs to do a lot to convince a non-faith adherent that their religion is really that of peace, tolerance, has respect for women, and non-violent. Majority of terrorist groups all over the world today are claiming they are simply thoroughly practicing Islam.
So, guys trying too hard to find a solace in justifying a battered religion should simply face the reality and calm down. Honestly, I would be very ashamed if I were to be a Muslim. No religion is a monopoly of violence, and other anti-social issues, but it is too prevalent with Islam.

I did not say open work permit needed LMIA.

I said OINP foreign workers stream needs LMIA to be eligible.
Oh! I'm sorry if I have misinterpreted the information you gave. On their website, LMIA, is indeed , required for the Foreign Worker Stream. There are actually two conditions or options: either an LMIA or a Valid Work Permit( https://www.ontario.ca/page/oinp-employer-job-offer-foreign-worker-stream#section-2). I think a foreign worker with SOWP is also good to apply under this stream, since the other condition( OR a Valid Work Permit) is already in place. Thanks for your input.

The OINP is very competitive.
You will need to have a positive LMIA from the Canadian company that’s employing her.
You will need to be on top of the OINP website to know when the portal will be open for application submission.
You will need to start an application on the OINP website during the period when the portal remains open.
You will need to submit a completed application within 14days of opening the application.

As long as you can succeed in the steps above you have a chance to get a nomination.

In other news, when did you apply and get approved for the SOWP??
Whao! Good to know that it's very competitive. I don't think Open Work Permit needs an LMIA based on this link https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=176&top=17( please, correct me if things have changed).
I applied alongside with my family from outside Nigeria, and we got approved for study permit and Spouse Open Work Permit respectively. The application timeline is between August,2020 and November,2020.

Hello everyone, my spouse got approved for the Open Work Permit. We are thinking of exploring the opportunity of using this permit to apply for the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program ( through the OINP Employer Job Offer: Foreign Workers' Stream) having worked for some months. How possible is this? Has anyone with SOPW tried this before, and how did it pan out?

@ajayidebo, thanks for the detailed explanation.
With respect to occupation, I am assessing for Electronics Instrument Trades Worker (Special Class) -- ANZSCO 342315 . Is there anyone in here who has been assessed positively and received an ITA based on this profession ? If yes, what was the total points you had?
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by SilaV:
Hello good people,
Please, I 've got a quick question concerning the points calculator for the skilled immigration. There is this sentence under the Partner Skills:'Your spouse or de facto partner must also be an applicant for this visa and has competent English.' The part of the statement that states that '.... de facto partner must be an applicant for this visa..' does this mean my spouse needs to do any skill assessment or must apply for the visa alongside with me if I'm given an ITA? My wife intends to write the IELTS, and she is within the required age range .Will this be enough to get a 5-point from partner skills?
Again, when I used the point calculator, I had 75 points, would that be enough to get an ITA for someone with an occupation assessed by TRA?

Hello @patricktoks, I did not receive your PM message in my Email, though I was able to see the notification on Nairaland page that you sent a message. If you could flash(and later remove it) your Email here, then I can send you a message. I will be back online in the next five hours from the time this post was made. Thank you sir, I will go through the link provided. But you did not drop a contact details for me to contact you on. Although I applied and sat for the last FSB PhD scholarship exam around February this year but no reply from federal government till date.
I'm glad to know that you have already started thinking in that direction. While you wait for this scholarship from the Federal Government, you could also be looking at other alternative, which is what I've just spoken about. Please, you need to take proactive step and be thinking towards the Spring (January) 2021 or the Fall(August) 2021 admission. The process is very easy. You can send me a PM after you have made up your mind and have taken steps in understanding what the USA admission process entails. The GRE and TOEFL would be paid for(in case you need assistance), directly on your ETS account when you are ready and have opened one.

Hello @Patricktoks,

I have a word of advise for you, sir. If you are interested in pursuing a PhD abroad, specifically the USA, your B.Sc, Masters and experience in Animal Science would be better appreciated and utilized. You would have a full ride scholarship that comes in form of Graduate Teaching Assistantship or Research Assistanship and you would be paid a monthly stipend that would take care of your living expenses, with some little savings if you are that prudent. You could follow this thread; https://www.nairaland.com/5233208/general-usa-student-visa-enquiries-part, ask questions and you will be good to go.
If you are sincerely interested, I could pay for your GRE and TOEFL exams, if money to register for these two important exams is the problem.I would also personally recommend some schools for you, and guide you in case you need specific information at every step. Let me know your thought concerning this. Please, note, I'm not an agent, and I've got no ulterior motive behind rendering this assistance(if you choose to accept). I 'm simply a young Nigerian who has followed this part too, and still hoping for the best in life.

With EA, you can upload the student copy of transcript.

I can't say if WES evaluated transcript is accepted because I have not seen any did that before. Use the student copy. If in doubt, certify it as true copy of the original and upload.
Much appreciation sir. As regard work experience (Overseas skilled employment – (outside Australia)) in the Point calculator, I intend to claim over eight years experience, which I can prove. This work experience was in a Process/ Instrumentation role with a manufacturing coy but I did not do any project, hence the use of Master's projects. Hope using academic projects( Master's Projects) for my EA assessment would not cast a shadow of doubt on the acclaimed years of experience when applying for subclass 189? Besides, I worked as a Technician in that role, and now I'm applying to be assessed as an Industrial Engineer having carried out projects on Six Sigma, LEAN Manufacturing ,and Process Improvement during my MS program. Will the work experience provided/not provided during the EA assessment be a factor when I'm to turn in the subclass 189 application ?

Yes, English test is required before assessment.

Yes, you can use you final year project.

You don't need to use your Masters degree as it adds no mark or value. It is same point with BSc.

If you had read the thread, you would have answered your questions.
Thank you sir, for your response. With respect to the Master's degree, it was during the period I did the three different projects that I would use to write my CDR. If the Master's degree is not included, I think there may not be any means the projects can be incorporated into my writing.
Please, sir, do you know if Unofficial soft copies of transcripts could be used? Is WES evaluated transcript acceptable?
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by SilaV:
Hello everyone, I have a few questions.
(1) Is IELTS required before one can apply for assessment with Engineer Australia?
(2) Can a fresh graduate with limited professional experience use the projects done in school to write a CDR?
(3) For an individual with Master's degree, would it be necessary to send the credentials for B.Sc or the highest qualification alone suffices?
(4) Are unofficial transcripts allowed ( can it be uploaded) for assessment?
(5) Is WES evaluated transcript acceptable or it must be a transcript from the school?

Please, pardon me if answers have been provided to these questions in previous times.

Thanks for your time.
