Nothing wrong with multi niche blogging if you ask me. Everything boils down to good content. A good, seo optimised super article on a multi niche site would still rank higher in search engines than a less quality article on a niche site.

Naij is a multi niche site and yet it's the most profitable in Nigeria. Same applies to Marshable.com, one of the biggest blogs in the world.

I have 500 word posts that rank on first page, and I have a super 3000 cornerstone article that took me two full days to write but it's on the third page. So really, you can't say you fully decode Google's ranking algorithm.

Besides, length of time is important. I have a blog post that ranks on a very popular product in a super popular evergreen niche (Nigerian/Indian content sha). It took me three months after publishing the post to get to the first page.

These old cargoes don't know about citizen journalism. Let them keep deceiving themselves and hoping for the day that Internet censorship will be a reality. That day will never come.
