Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP’s) National Secretary Prof. Wale Oladipo has appealed to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) to be allowed to refund the N75 million he received from ex-National Security Adviser (NSA) Mohammed Sambo Dasuki. Oladipo’s request is contained in a letter to the Vice President in which he sought to be excluded from prosecution. Prominent Nigerians, including Raymond Dokpesi and ex-Director of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Aminu Baba-Kusa, were charged to court for allegedly diverting billions of naira belonging to the Federal Government under the guise of fighting Boko Haram. The existence of the letter by Oladipo was confirmed in the suit he filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, through his lawyer Babs Akinwumi. He is seeking to, among others, restrain the attorney general of the federation (AGF) and four others from arresting, detaining and prosecuting him. Oladipo also seeks to restrain the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), the inspector general of Police (IGP) and the Department of State Services (DSS) from holding him. The PDP national secretary, in a supporting affidavit, said he wrote the Vice President on his intention to refund the money he received from the Office of the NSA, without knowledge that it was proceed of unlawful dealings, with the understanding that he would be shielded from prosecution. Oladipo, who claimed to have received an anonymous message on his telephone, inviting him for interrogation, urged the court to, among others, restrain the respondents from moving against him. He alleged that the respondents were being used by agents of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to harass, intimidate and persecute him, being a key opposition figure. But the respondents faulted Oladipo’s letter, arguing that his letter could not shield him from investigation and prosecution. “Assuming without conceding that Exhibit 1 (the letter) exists, it is our further contention that the exhibit cannot come to the aid of the applicant because a letter written to the Vice President to return N75 million cannot act as shield from investigation and possible prosecution, rather it is suggestive of corruption, requiring investigation,” ICPC said in its objection to the suit. Other respondents faulted the suit and urged the court to dismiss it on the grounds that Oladipo was merely seeking to hide under a spurious text message, whose source he failed to establish, to prevent statutory established bodies from performing their responsibilities. “It is clear that the applicant has failed to discharge his duty of establishing nexus between the 3rd respondent and the so called witch-hunt of APC against him. “The applicant, in anticipation of possible invitation by the 3rd respondent (ICPC) to answer questions with respect to the N75 million, which, he said, he received from officials of the PDP, has come to this court to twist the arms of the law and challenged the statutory powers of the 3rd respondent in carrying out its constitutional duties and ultimately escape from criminal invitation. “It is submitted that the applicant’s suit is incompetent, misleading, lacking in merit and should be dismissed. We urge the court to so hold and strike out or dismiss this suit,” ICPC said. In his response to the suit, the AGF, Abubakar Malami (SAN), argued that Oladipo only raised unsubstantiated allegation of persecution and harassment against the respondents “on account of funds he received from his party members and is thus seeking to restrain the respondents from performing their constitutional duties”. He denied taking any steps against Oladipo “in respect of money received by the applicant either from party members or other sources”. “Even the alleged invitation by the 2nd respondent (EFCC) did not state that the applicant was invited because of funds, which he received. “The applicant, on his free volition and admission, wrote to the Vice President wherein he offered to return to the Federal Government funds which he received. “Rather than comply with the invitation, if indeed it exists, to clear his name, the applicant, via the instant suit, resorted to engage the instrumentality of the law to stop or frustrate his investigation and possible prosecution,” the AGF said. The judge adjourned hearing to May 19 to enable ICPC file its responses. SOURCE: http://thenationonlineng.net/oladipo-offers-return-dasukigate-fundsto-stave-off-trial/ |
Keep it up boys. But before you go far in your self-destruction, remember to ask Shekau the Boko-Haram leader why he is currently hiding under his grandmother's bed. Bubu is coming for you, he said that in China few days ago and he means it. When Bubu finally comes for you, don't shout genocide, because Bubu does not understand the meaning of geno not to talk of genocide. Do you know the man called Buratai ? Ask Shekau, he will tell you about him. Even while Buratai is resting in his village, he plays with poisonous snakes. I am sure you all run when you see earth worms. So, bring it on boys, Bubu and Buratai are waiting for you. |
Enugu State Police Command, yesterday, arrested about eight persons over the ongoing violence at Alor Uno in Nsukka Local Government Area of the state, following supremacy battle over alleged slavery. Ugbene and Ejuona communities in Alor Uno have been involved in supremacy battle over who are the aborigines or slaves in the last 40 years. The matter, however, reached a climax when a young Ugbene man, Arinze Ngwoke, was, on April 11, reportedly chased by youths from Ejuona and attacked with machete for taking a road reserved for the aborigines, Ejuona, who claimed that the Ugbene people are “slaves.” Ngwoke is the second victim after Izuchukwu Ezema, who was alleged to have been attacked in March and is still in hospital due to machete cuts inflicted on him for passing through the same route. Weekend, a woman, Onyedikachukwu Omeje was attacked with her three months old baby by some youths, who claimed to come from Ejuona, for also trespassing on the same forbidden road. Two other women, Augustina Oke and Chidera Attah, have also been attacked for allegedly committing same offence. However, in the early morning of yesterday, youths from Ugbene were said to have re-grouped and attacked some Ejuona people suspected to be the ring leaders of their people. The youths reportedly attacked the house of one Emmanuel Onah among others and vandalised it, prompting policemen from the Nsukka Area Command to arrest some Ugbene people including a headmaster, Theophilus Ngwu alias Inter-State, Emeka Enyoka and one Sunday Nwa-Ejor, among about eight others whose sons and daughters were said to have carried out the reprisal attack. Sources told Vanguard that the suspects, who were with the police, were arrested when their sons or daughters fled the town to evade arrest. Meanwhile, the Police Area Commander for Nsukka, Mr. Monday Kuryasi, has invited seven leaders each from both Ejuona and Ugbene for a peace meeting with Governor Ifeanyi Ugwanyi at Government House, today. Tunchi101:Nigerians are in crises but Nigerian pastors are not in crises, infact Nigerian pastors are in possession of plenty. Nigerian pastors fly private jets, and spends time in the best hotels in the world and fucck the finest girls in the world. One god of man that is lord in COZA church did his birthday in Dubia with fellow fraudsters after fuccking several fine girls. So why should Nigerian pastors worry about Nigerians' suffering? |
Idiots!! Lazy fools fooling around the streets. These people are supposed to get themselves armed and send invitation letter to the Fulani nonentities to come with their cattles and their guns and let the war begins. Buari has been unfortunately silent on these mayhem caused by the his foolish fulani brothers. So, let us get arms and ammunition and deal with the useless Fulani once and for all. |
I am constrained to comment on the above issue of unjustifiable proliferation of First Class graduates from our private universities. It is very absurd that students that failed to obtain anything close to 250 in their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination scores or Post-UTME examination are now being awarded First Class degrees! I want to criticise these questionable awards from four main angles: The Senior Secondary Certificate Examination grades of these glorified first class graduates cannot match those in public universities. Almost, if not all of them, scored below average or minimum scores that would not have qualified them admission into leading universities in Nigeria. Most of these private universities cannot compete with the public ones in areas of qualified lecturers as they mostly rely on unemployed, retired, visiting, part-time and sometimes grossly incompetent academic staff to churn out these half-baked graduates. Most of these private universities cannot boast of standard laboratories, qualified and competent technical staff despite the fact that they have few student population. From the foregoing, most of the first class graduates produced by these private universities would have at best obtained second class lower or third class degrees from functional standard universities across Nigeria! It is therefore instructive that this mad rush to produce average students as first class products is highly nauseating, condemnable, misleading, counterproductive and detestable! Let members of the public be aware that private universities are just alternatives to wealthy or rich students and parents who cannot compete favourably Academically in public institutions and therefore should discountenance whatever degree class or classes they award their products. In conclusion, I will rather suggest that the National Universities Commission and other regulatory agencies should look into this issue, intervene and restore sanity into these treacherous acts of our private universities. Xeedorf:Please remind these clowns that Lagos State is not in the same category with any other state in Nigeria talk less of Kwara State. Remind the fools also that the Jagaban does not just control Lagos, he also controls Oyo, Ogun and Osun. Sarathief controls only Kwara, even Kogi that came out of Kwara is away from Sarathief's control. Anyway, Sarathief will be a real man to go down to Kuje prison than to worship the Jagaban of Africa. That is the quality of a real man. Real men don't beg. |

By now, the money would have gotten to me and someone like the O.P. would probably have been killed by Boko Haram and his remaining family members in IDP camp because all monies that were used by Buhari administration to buy ammunition to combat Boko Haram would have been shared by Sambo Dasuki.

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, has dismissed the petition by the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh, seeking the transfer of his trial for money laundering from Justice Okon Abang to another judge. Justice Auta’s letter responding to the petition by Metuh, a copy of which our correspondents obtained on Thursday, stated that it was too late in the day to reassign the case in which the prosecution had already called all its witnesses. The Chief Judge’s letter, dated March 24, 2016, signed by his Special Assistant, Mr. Ambrose Unaeze, was addressed to one of Metuh’s lawyers, Mr. Emeka Etiaba (SAN), who had signed and sent the petition on behalf of his client. Etiaba sent the petition to the Chief Judge, accusing Justice Abang of bias in the handling of the case after his clients were called upon to open their defence. The lawyer claimed in the petition that Metuh was a classmate of the judge in the 1987/1988 set of the Nigerian Law School. He claimed that Metuh and the judge both practised law in Lagos before the PDP spokesperson relocated to Abuja, and Justice Abang, on his part, was appointed a judge. Etiaba also alleged that Metuh met and had discussion with Justice Abang late last year in the Meridien Hotel in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, adding that his client was baffled at the views expressed by the judge during their encounter. The lawyer also accused the judge of denying his client fair hearing by refusing to release to the defence team a copy of the records of proceedings of the court to enable them to appeal against some decisions of the judge in the course of the trial. He alleged that the defence applied for the record of proceedings on February 8, 2016, to enable the defence to appeal against some decisions of the court, but that one month and one week later, the judge had yet to release it to the defence. However, in his response to the petition through his Special Assistant (Unaneze), the Chief Judge said he could no longer take any administrative action on the case, considering the stage at which the matter was. He advised that the only option open to the defendants was to file an application asking Justice Abang to disqualify himself from further handling the case. Unaneze stated, “I refer you to your letter of March 16, 2016, and after a careful perusal of your application and the reasons stated therein, the Hon. Chief Judge has directed me to inform you that it is too late in the day for his Lordship to take administrative action with regard to your application. “This is so because the parties have already joined issues but are at liberty to file an application before the judge for his consideration and appeal if not satisfied with whatever decision he may take. “Please accept the assurances of My Lord, the Hon. Chief Judge.” The defendants had since filed an application before the judge, asking him to disqualify himself from further presiding over the case and return the file to the Chief Judge. The judge will today (Friday) hear the application which is predicated on the same allegation of bias against him. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is prosecuting Metuh and his firm before Justice Abang on seven counts of money laundering, including $2m cash transaction. Part of the charges preferred against them also bordered on the N400m which the accused allegedly received fraudulently from the Office of the National Security Adviser in November 2014. Meanwhile, Justice Abang, who presides over Metuh’s trial in the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, will today (Friday) hear a fresh application by the PDP spokesperson, asking the judge (Justice Abang) to disqualify himself from further presiding over the case. Metuh’s fresh application is predicated on the same allegation of bias levelled against the judge in the March 16, 2016 petition which was sent on his behalf by one of his lawyers, Mr. Emeka Etiaba (SAN), to the Chief Judge of the court. Justice Abang had earlier denied all the allegations in his response sent to the Chief Judge. The judge stated that he could not recall either seeing Metuh while at the Nigerian Law School or coming across him while practising as a lawyer anywhere in the country before he (Abang) was appointed a judge in June 2009. Justice Abang stated that contrary to Metuh’s claim, he never attended any function at the Uyo hotel where the PDP’s spokesperson claimed they met late last year. He added that he did not see Metuh at the Law School class reunion meetings which he recently attended in Abuja, Lagos and Enugu. The judge also denied the allegation that he deliberately withheld the record of proceedings to scuttle Metuh’s plan to appeal against some of the court’s decisions. DonZizzy:When I left high school in the early 90s, while waiting for WAEC and JAMB, every morning I grinded pepper with grinding stone to either make stew for rice, beans, porridge e.t.c. My brothers and sisters prefer it to using the grinding machine. However, if there is any man that ask his girlfriend or wife to be grinding pepper with grinding stone in this 2016, such a man too should be told to be walking from Ikorodu garage to Idumota in Lagos every morning because our fore parents too used to do it. Ikorodu town to Lagos Island is a straight road, a not too far distance. From Ikorodu to Mile-12, to Ojota, to Palm-Grove, to Yaba, to Oyingbo and finally cross the bridge to Idumota. No corner, to turning. |

luvinhubby:Your destiny is not intact. Your destiny has been shared by Dasuki Sambo to PDP looters. |
KissCODE:Definitely you are not a christian because if you are, then you will believe in prophesy. Because prophesies are words from God. 2 Peter 1:19-21, ESV. “And we have something more sure, the prophetic word, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” Amos 3:7 - “Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets” God revealed to Patience Jonathan during the campaign and she told all Nigerians God's message that if Buhari wins, she will be taking food to her husband in prison. This prophesy of Patience Jonathan has two parts; the first part is "if Buhari win" that part has been fulfilled. The second part is "I will be taking food to my husband in prison" that part of the prophesy is about to be fulfilled. So, sit down, get a bottle of Alomo Bitters and Popcorn and enjoy the manifestation of the words of God. |

My wife and I have been married for 5 years. She has done change of name a long time ago. All her certificates bear her father's name. I always help prepare her CV and it bears her father's name. There is no need having one name on certificate and another name on CV. If she gets another certificate today, it will still bear her father's name. However, my wife officially bears my surname. This is my personal opinion and may be against other people's opinion. |

The Nigerian Army Council has retired two senior officers, Brig.-Gen. Aliyu Momoh, who was indicted in the conduct of the 2015 elections in Ekiti State; the former spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Brig.-Gen. Olajide Laleye, and other officers. It was learnt on Sunday that the retirement of the senior officers was in connection with the recommendations of the panel set up by the Army authorities to look into allegations of professional misconduct against military personnel in the conduct of the June 14, 2014 governorship poll in Ekiti State and the 2015 general elections. The panel was also directed to investigate the roles played by the military officers who participated in the August, 2014 governorship election in Osun State. After the results of the Ekiti governorship election was released, where the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, was declared the winner, there were allegations that the Army personnel deployed in the state, led by Momoh, played active roles in an alleged rigging of the poll. An officer of the Nigerian Army, Capt. Sagir Koli, who participated in the supervision of the poll, had leaked an audio recording of a meeting, featuring Fayose, Momoh, former Minister of State for Defence, Musliu Obanikoro; former Minister of Police Affairs, Mr. Jelili Adesiyan; and the PDP governorship candidate in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, among others, where the alleged rigging was hatched. The individuals had stridently denied the rigging allegations. The former Director, Army Public Relations, Laleye, who later became the Commander, 4th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, addressed the press on the controversy over the secondary school certificate of the then presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. He had said the Army could not find the results of the West African School Certificate Examination of Buhari, who was Nigeria’s military Head of State between January 1, 1984 and August, 1985. Buhari, who was contesting the presidential election as the candidate of the APC, had claimed, while submitting his nomination forms to the Independent National Electoral Commission in 2014, that his WASCE result was in the custody of the Army. The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, confirmed that “Gen. Momoh and others have been retired from the Army”. The Army spokesman did not give further details of the retirement. Investigation, however, revealed that the Army council met in February to consider the recommendations of the panel, set up by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, to investigate allegations of professional misconduct against its personnel in the last elections. The Board of Inquiry, led by the General Officer Commanding, 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Maj. Gen. Adeniyi Oyebade, indicted some officers and recommended various degrees of sanctions for them in a report submitted to the Army chief on January 11, 2016. The Oyebade-led panel recommended the compulsory retirement of two officers from the Army, three others for loss of command and one for prosecution for receiving financial gratification. The panel recommended 15 officers to be put on the watch list and nine officers for investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Also, the panel said ‘‘six officers should face an audit panel and 62 officers (mostly of the rank of Major and below) should be given Letters of Displeasure and to appear before their respective GOCs for counselling.’’ Oyebade had said 23 officers, over 100 soldiers and 62 civilians appeared before the panel which was constituted on October 20, 2015 “to investigate the alleged unprofessional and unethical conduct of some Nigerian Army personnel in Ekiti and Osun states’ governorship election in 2014 as well as in any other state in Nigeria, where other allegations of misconduct were made during the 2015 general elections”. Part of the committee’s terms of reference include “to review the involvement of the Nigerian Army formations/units and its personnel in elections and other duties in aid of civil authority”. The Army authorities had said the investigation was designed “to prevent future unprofessional conduct by officers and men in the performance of their constitutional roles while strengthening Nigerian Army’s support to democratic values and structures”.
