The writer is very very right. It is better to used such money to provide 1.2 billion naira food for Mr & Mrs Jonathan, to hire private jet amounting to 10 billion naira to fly Deizani Allison-Madueke the petroleum minister around, to budget about 30 million naira to feed two animals in Aso Rock zoo, to approve 9.3 bllion naira to rural cooking stoves among other very important things.

.If Atiku wants to declare for PDP,he should do so now, without any further delay. As a former VP, i believe he is bigger than this hide and seek game that he is currently playing. He still nurses presidential ambition and there is no way he will get it in APC,because God is going to preserve PMB with good health to complete 2 tenures of eight years.Atiku move to PDP now,and don't distract Mr .president with your "politrickings"
This is the more reason why Buhari should get closer to Tinubu and learn politrics from Tinubu. Tinubu combined with NADECO and fought Abacha to his grave. Funsho Williams that wanted to bite more than he can chew, Tinubu fought him till he breathed no more. When Obasanjo wanted to be Nigeria's life president, Tinubu combined with Atiku and fought Obasanjo and retired Obasanjo to Ota farm, Tinubu fought Jonathan and retired Jonathan to Otuoke, Tinubu fought Bode George and sent him to kririkiri prison. When Atiku thought that he has millions of dollars to buy delegates and get APC presidential ticket, Tinubu proved again that he (Tinubu) is a professor of politrics by humbling Atiku and getting the presidential ticket for Buhari. Now, Atiku is doing all illegalities in order to get back to the fore, Tinubu is the only politrician in Nigeria that can put Atiku where Atiku actually belongs, that is, in the past.

Buhari should be humble enough to ask for Tinubu's forgiveness for betraying Tinubu by not getting involved with National Assembly elections. Thereafter, Buhari should let Tinubu play the politrics with other thieving politricians while Buhari concentrate on governance. Buhari is too straight forward to play the dirty game of politrics. Politrics is a game of the devil's children, let Tinubu who is the devil's cousin play the game with the devil's children. Atiku and his fellow PDP thieves will be humbled by the master Tinubu.

Way to go after the initial shock. Nigeria is bigger than a single individual.

But saraki and dogara should be very cautious what they do. Tinubu and his boys are waiting for payback time
I just hope that the payback from Tinubu wont send Saraki and Dongoyaro to Kirikiri. Ask Bode George and he will tell you that he (Bode George) fears Tinubu more than he fears God. Remember that Saraki has a long list of different cases with the EFCC, if Tinubu convinces or confuses Buhari to bring up the stealing, sorry corruption (copyright ex-president Jonathan) cases pending against Saraki, then Saraki will spend more time in Kirikiri than Bode Geroge remember that Jim Nwobodo that stole money not enough to buy a Peugeot (copyright ex-president Jonathan) got about 100 years imprisonment from Buhari in 1984.

Politics › Valentine Day Robber To Spend 21 Years In Jail by simpleseyi(op): 7:29am On Jun 10, 2015
A bus conductor, Sunday Olalekan, was, yesterday, sentenced to 21 years imprisonment by a Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja, after being found guilty of robbing one Nkong Remi on February 14, 2013 (Valentine Day). The convict, 22, who lives at Papa Unity Road, Imedu-Ibafo area of Ogun State, was arraigned by Lagos State Government on a one-count charge of robbery, to which he pleaded not guilty. Olalekan was alleged to have, on the said date at Gani Fawehinmi Garden, Ojota, in the Ikeja Judicial Division, robbed the victim (Remi) of her handbag, phones and other valuables.

According to the prosecutor, Mr. Akin George, the offence was contrary to Section 294 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. During trial, Remi had told the court that she was driving an ash-coloured SUV on February 14, on her way to drop her sister at the park around 6:15a.m., when the robbery took place. She said the assailants also robbed her sister, rough handled and fondled her before she could drive off. She said: “I returned to the park around 7a.m., and was told some boys were caught and taken to Alausa Police Station. “At the station, they asked me if I can recognise the boys and I said I can recognise the one with a swollen eye. They took me in and I recognised him (convict).”

However, the convict, who testified in Yoruba language, denied all the allegation. He said he went to 7-Up at Ojota to wait for his boss (Tunde), but did not see him. Delivering judgment, Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye held that the testimony of Remi was unshaken during cross-examination and she was able to identify the assailant (Olalekan). “I, hereby, find you, Sunday Olalekan, guilty of the offence of robbery and sentence you to 21 years imprisonment as stated by law,” the judge ruled.

Politics › Call Your Wife To Order, Group Warns Jonathan by simpleseyi(op): 6:32am On Jun 03, 2015
A group, Concerned Bayelsa Elders, has warned former President Goodluck Jonathan to call his wife, Patience, to order or risk political crisis in Bayelsa State.

The leader of the group, Ebeletimi Wilson, said this while addressing journalists in Lagos, according to a statement on Tuesday.

Wilson said Jonathan’s wife was still scheming to ensure that the Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, does not emerge governor next year.

He said now that Jonathan has relocated to Bayelsa State, his wife is attempting to use her supporters in the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria to frustrate the governor.

He said if Jonathan did not handle the situation well, he could lose Dickson’s loyalty just as former governors Rotimi Amaechi and Timipre Sylva abandoned him.

Wilson said, “What exactly does Dame Patience Jonathan want? Dickson has proved to be a performing governor as he has within three years transformed the state in the areas of infrastructural development and security. This initiative has changed the fortunes of the state.

“Jonathan should be able to call his people to order because we know that his inability to call his people to order resulted in the eventual face off with Timipre Sylva and Rotimi Amaechi.

“Our appeal is that, as the leader of the state, Jonathan should encourage Dickson for succeeding in keeping the Peoples Democratic Party united in the state.”

Wilson said if Jonathan did not speak up then it would be assumed that he and his wife are plotting to ensure that a former commissioner, Waipamo-Owei Dudafa, emerges the next governor of the state.

He alleged that Patience’s clique and preferred candidate were the ones frustrating Dickson’s administration.

He said, “Why should ex-President Jonathan keep mum while his wife fuels crisis in the state just because she is not getting her way? It is very disappointing. Her aim is to turn Bayelsa into a crisis-ridden state like what she encouraged in Rivers State, but thank God Dickson has been tactful.

“It is ironical that she has in the last three years been the main opposition in Bayelsa State, intimidating the people and even security operatives.”

I love the fact buhari is delegating some of the key works to Osinbanjo, which shows team work. Their dynamics has been great so far, which bode well for the country.
Buhari has always been a team player. You will always hear about Gowon's regime, Muritala Muhammed's regime, Obasanjo's regime, shagari's regime, IBB's regime, Abacha's regime, Shonekan's brief regime, Abdulsalami Abubakar's, Yar'Adua's regime, Jonathan's regime, but you will also hear Buhari/Idiagbon's regime. Buhari/Idiagbon's regime was actually like a joint ticket. The reason is that Buhari delegated a reasonable amount of duties to Idiagbon such that some fools say Idiagbon was the one ruling. Buhari recognizes that the VP is an integral assistant and not a ceremonial dummy.

Buhari is a magnificient team player. Buhari will be going to Niger republic tomorrow and Chad next tomorrow while Oshinbajo is currently in Sudan and will be going to South Africa tomorrow. Team work and synergy at play.

Politics › Impeachment: Fayose Appeals To Buhari, CJN by simpleseyi(op): 7:36am On Jun 02, 2015
AGAINST perceived moves to impeach Governor Ayo Fayose, the hierarchy of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, stepped up pressure on President Muhammudu Buhari to prevail on his party faithful and security agencies to check the disruption of the peace in the state.
The impeachment moves allegedly spearheaded by the outgoing members of the State House of Assembly, remained a matter of speculation yesterday even as it was claimed that the 19 legislators belonging to the All Progressives Congress, APC, may storm the state today.
Governor Fayose, on his part, called on President Buhari and Justice Mahmoud to call the 19 APC lawmakers to order.

Fayose, who spoke with newsmen at the Governor’s Lodge over the tension elicited by the speculated move of the APC legislators, insisted that all the entitlements of the APC lawmakers have been paid contrary to Speaker Adewale Omirin’s claim that they were yet to be paid.
The governor flaunted copies of the Skye Bank cheques dated May 26, 2015, issued to the lawmakers to corroborate his claim. One of the cheques, which bore the name Boluwade Bolie Kehinde was received on behalf of the lawmaker and had a sum of N2,149,052 .37on it
Fayose said it would amount to illegality for the embattled speaker, Adewale Omirin to continue to hold claim as the speaker when actually he had been removed from the post as far back as November 2014.

His words: “They have been dropping the name of President Muhammadu Buhari as giving them the backing to impeach me. How can an Assembly, whose tenure will wind up on Thursday be planning this? I wonder why the issue of the past should be allowed to come to play now.?
“As at the date the court gave the order, I mean April 23, Hon Adewale Omirin was not the speaker. It will be wrong for the court order not to be respected. This is illegality and I want to raise this for the public to know.
“Omirin has gone to court to challenge his impeachment and later withdrew such, which means he accepted he had been impeached and a cost of N100, 000 was awarded against him. So, he is not the Speaker. I am calling on well-meaning Nigerians, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mohammed Mahmoud and President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in this matter.”
“How can somebody be living in another State and planning to invade his state? This is something else and I view this as a major crime anyone can commit against his people”, the governor added.
Commenting on the controversy over the payment of the salary and entitlements of the lawmakers, Fayose said they had been paid by last week Wednesday.
“They came to collect the cheques in Ado Ekiti in company of the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Toyin Ojo.”

Politics › Afe Babalola Wants Tetfund Act Amended - Wants Govt To Fund Private Vasities by simpleseyi(op): 7:09am On Jun 02, 2015
Renowned lawyer, Chief Afe Babalola (SAN), has called for an amendment to the TETfund Act.

He particularly frowned on Section 7(1) of the TETFund Act, noting that it contradicts the provisions of Section 3 (1) of the Act and violates Section 18 of the 1979 Constitution.

He spoke at the commencement of the 48th Conference of the Nigerian Association of Law Teachers at the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The Head of Public Relations in the university, Mr. Tunde Olofintila, made this known in a statement on Monday.

According to Babalola, only such an amendment can address the “unfair and unjustifiable exclusion of private institutions” from benefitting from the funds accruable from TETFund.

Babalola, who is the ABUAD founder, wondered why the provisions of Section 7(1) of the Act should exclude private institutions, including universities, from benefitting from the funds collected from private companies in the country.

He said, “It seems clearly that Section 7(1) of the Act contradicts the provisions of Section 3(1) and violates Section 18 of the 1979 Constitution. The exclusion of private institutions, apart from the contradiction between Sections 3 and 7 of the Law, is obviously unconstitutional, unfair and unjustifiable.”

However, the senior advocate suggested that the authorities should put certain measures in place to check the likely abuses by the benefiting private schools.

For instance, he recommended that any private university that has a minimum of 20 of its courses accredited by the National Universities Commission deserved access to the fund.

Babalola also suggested that private universities that offer postgraduate studies should have access to the fund.

On the conference entitled “Mainstreaming Interdisciplinary Approach to Legal Education: Imperatives for Nigeria’s Development”, Babalola said there was need to combine knowledge of law and other forms of expertise.

According to him, the university is applying the approach in order to prepare its students for future challenges.

He added, “ABUAD cares so much about its students and their future as a result of which it has created interdisciplinary and outreaching model of entrepreneurship education. It also offers undergraduate courses in soft managerial skills, teamwork skills across all disciplines in law and entrepreneurship, among others.”
