SportsBarcelona Fight Attempt To Move Clásico From Camp Nou To Madrid by sinorte(op): 6:01pm On Oct 16, 2019
Barcelona intend to resist attempts to move the clásico on 26 October from the Camp Nou to the Santiago Bernabéu after the Spanish league proposed the change amid protest and unrest in the Catalan capital. Real Madrid are also reluctant to have the match moved, although they would be open to a postponement. The decision will be made by the three-man competition committee next week, with an announcement expected on Wednesday, just three days before the game is due to take place.

Foreign AffairsEthiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, Wins 2019 Nobel Peace Prize by sinorte(op): 10:49am On Oct 11, 2019
The 2019 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Abiy Ahmed, the Ethiopian Prime Minister who helped end his country's 20-year war with Eritrea.

Announcing the prize in Oslo, the Norwegian Nobel Committee said Ahmed's "efforts deserve recognition and need encouragement."

The conflict between Ethiopia and Eritrea over disputed border territory came at a huge financial and humanitarian cost for both countries.

Abiy, 43, also recently won plaudits for his role in helping to broker a power-sharing deal in neighboring Sudan after a political crisis that led to the arrest of Omar al-Bashir, the country's ruler for almost three decades.
"The committee hopes that the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize will strengthen Prime Minister Abiy in his important work for peace and reconciliation," tweeted The Nobel Prize.

Where could this possible leak be coming from? I fear giving the job to a quack that will now start handling with the condenser, compressor etc
Car TalkHow Often Do You Refill Your AC Gas? by sinorte(op): 3:45pm On May 28, 2019
My understanding is that one is not supposed to refill car AC gas more than once in a year. Could this be true?

I drive Civic 2013 and my AC has always ran out of gas every three months. Could it be that there's something wrong with one of my AC components?

Kindly enlighten me please.
BusinessNigerian Man Hires Ex World Bank President by sinorte(op):
Jim Yong Kim, who abruptly resigned as president of the World Bank on Monday, is joining investment firm Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) next month. The appointment was confirmed Tuesday by the chairman of GIP, Adebayo Ogunlesi.

GIP, which focuses on projects in the energy, transport, water and waste industries, invests in developed and select emerging countries, said Kim will become vice chairman and a partner on Feb. 1. Bloomberg News reported earlier that he was in discussions to join the firm.

“The leadership and vision that Dr. Kim brought to the World Bank as well as his prior roles as president of Dartmouth College and director of the World Health Organization’s HIV/AIDS department speak for themselves,” GIP Chairman Adebayo Ogunlesi said in a statement announcing the appointment Tuesday. His “broad knowledge base along with his first-hand, comprehensive experience of working with governments and institutions around the world will provide very valuable insights.”

Kim, 59, left the World Bank more than three years ahead of schedule, telling employees in an email that he planned join a private firm, which he didn’t identify. He began his second five-year term at the bank on July 1, 2017, and helped the lender win support from member countries in April for a $13 billion capital increase, after the U.S. dropped proposals to limit the World Bank’s resources.

“The opportunity to join the private sector was unexpected, but I’ve concluded that this is the path through which I will be able to make the largest impact on major global issues like climate change and the infrastructure deficit in emerging markets,” Kim said in the email.

I understand a pillar will sure need to be introduced somewhere along the existing wall on the ground floor. The durability is what I'm somewhat concerned about. I will share pictures of the building and the section where the pillar is required later today.

I have a duplex under construction with the living room (on the ground floor) designed to be open and extended to the roof of the building. Simply put, the living room space will have no decking (slab) above it.

Recently, I have chosen to put a decking above the living room. My concern is whether this would be doable, considering the fact that the columns already erected were done without consideration for the new decking above the living room. And if this is feasible, what are the best way to go about it?
Foreign AffairsUS Federal Government Partially Shuts Down Over Trump's Border Wall Demand by sinorte(op):
Parts of the federal government shut down at midnight after Congress and the White House failed to reach a deal Friday night to avert the shuttering of several departments.

Both the US House of Representatives and the Senate adjourned after Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, a Texas Republican, said there would not be a vote Friday night in the Senate.

This is the first time in 40 years that the government has been closed three times in a year. However, before they adjourned for the night, the Senate passed a bill to ensure federal employees who are furloughed get back pay.
It was passed by unanimous consent, but still will need to pass the House. The measure was brought up by Sens. Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin, who represent Maryland, where many DC area federal employees live.

On Friday afternoon, Vice President Mike Pence, budget director Mick Mulvaney and President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, all arrived on Capitol Hill, where they remained into the evening. Shortly thereafter, Republican Tennessee Republican Sen. Bob Corker said on the Senate floor that an "understanding has been reached" that the Senate will not take any further votes related to the funding issue "until a global agreement has been reached between the President" and congressional leaders. The procedural maneuver helps streamline the legislative process once a deal is reached, but no such deal had appeared publicly by the time Congress left for the night.

The House on Thursday passed legislation that included Trump's request for $5 billion for a border wall, but it was clear on Friday that that demand did not have the votes needed to pass in the Senate, and was therefore not brought up for a vote -- creating more uncertainty on a path forward. Trump earlier in the day predicted the government would shut down -- and looked to place the blame on Democrats. "The chances are probably very good" that there is a shutdown, Trump told reporters Friday afternoon while at a White House signing ceremony for bipartisan criminal justice reform legislation. "It's really the Democrat shutdown, because we've done our thing," Trump continued. "Now it's up to the Democrats as to whether we have a shutdown tonight. I hope we don't, but we're totally prepared for a very long shutdown."

Friday night, as he appeared to be leaving for the evening, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said "constructive talks are underway." When McConnell was asked if he would be coming back to participate in the talks, he said, "as I've said repeatedly, we need Democratic votes and presidential signature."

FamilyWhy Do Igbos Hold Naming Ceremonies For Newborns Only Three Months After Birth? by sinorte(op): 6:33pm On Jun 05, 2018
I'm not sure about what is obtainable with our folks up north, but I know the practice with the Yoruba people is to christen new babies seven days after birth. The christening is always accompanied with entertainment and marrying. The size of it is dependent on the pocket of the host family.

Coming eastwards. Igbo amaka! This is where I need some enlightenment. Though new babies are christened soon after they are born (not sure how many days it is from birth), majority are always done on a low key. Alas, come three months after birth, you'll see parties being thrown for the babies. Why is this the practice? Kindly enlighten me.

I have always struggled using MTN at home for like 7 years. It's been terrible. So people in my area advised to use GLO, but I kept doubting, not until I tried it on Saturday. LTE and 3G all very fast on GLO. I don't have to run up and down looking for network around my home and my immediate environment anymore. It was very terrible for 7 years. I even complained to MTN to optimize the network, upon everything, no show. For u guys info, I worked for MTN for 10 years so I know what the network strengths are. I am particular about where I Iive and do 95% of my browsing. GLO data also does not deplete quickly. MTN bullshit data exhausts like pure water.! I don't give a damn about their rip off network. Even the voice call very fast on GLO. I even discovered GLO has very sweet data plans. They even send me updates on how to check my balance and my bonus available, and also very user friendly. I have also visited several communities in my area and GLO has been extremely fast. GLO is the best
U guys can go to hell with MTN.
Calm down bro. Hate the game and not the player.

Nonsense network. I started using GLO network on Saturday 28/4/2018 and to be sincere, its been a very great experience using it to browse. GLO is the best!! Let's support our own indigenous network doing us proud, and stop patronizing these fraudulent and slave driver MTN and other South African firms.GLO just bailed me out of this useless MTN network I have patronized since inception.
Your comment is fraught with calumny and it's obvious you're only out to distort the truth. I would have been able to help with whatever issues you 'had' with the network (that's even if there's any) if you would come out clean.

Be assured that MTN's data revenue growth is not a fluke but a representation of subscribers' continued trust in the yellow network. As a company out to make its customers happy, MTN continues to invests heavily in network productivity and optimisation. If you don't know, you don't know.

So, brother, it's high time you rejoined the MTN network where you can do amazing things with data and enjoy seamless data experience.

Lest I forget, I posted this comment in the middle of the sea on MTN network and there was no break in data coverage.

SportsThat Moment Wigan Athletic Knocked Out Manchester City Out Of FA Cup by sinorte(op): 11:10pm On Feb 19, 2018
There is a famous song here about the man who has just scorched Manchester City’s hopes of a quadruple. And in the closing moments here it is doubtful if “Will Grigg’s on fire” has ever reverberated around this stadium with greater noise. City were on their way out of the FA Cup and, once again, it was Wigan – little, patronised Wigan – who had left the most expensively assembled group of players in English football history in a state of disrepair.

Grigg is now the leading scorer in the competition this season, with seven goals, and the League One side can look forward to a quarter-final at home to Southampton while Pep Guardiola’s return to fighting on three fronts.

City have a 16-point lead at the top of the Premier League and are virtually guaranteed a place in the Champions League quarter-finals, with the Carabao Cup final against Arsenal to follow on Sunday. Yet this was a wretched night for City, who paid a heavy price for Fabian Delph’s red card late in the first half, and by the end Guardiola was looking almost as frazzled as Roberto Mancini had at Wembley five years ago.

Yet their task here became considerably more difficult after that moment, shortly before the interval, when Delph flew into a challenge on Max Power and was subsequently informed that was going to be his last contribution of the evening. City’s players were incensed by the decision and could conceivably have landed the club with a disciplinary charge because of the way they crowded around Anthony Taylor to remonstrate. The referee had not helped matters, however, by pulling out a yellow card and even appeared to start writing down Delph’s name before apparently changing his mind and brandishing a red.

By that stage Wigan had already lost their most creative player, Nick Powell, to a hamstring injury but even when the teams had equal numbers City had found it difficult at times inside a ground where the advertising boards promote Uncle Joe’s mint balls and Ribble Farm fruit and vegetables.

Wigan, in short, still had to defend for their lives but the chance arrived for Grigg with a ball that caught out the City defence. Grigg still had a lot of work to do but he took his shot early and Bravo was beaten.

Yes, no survey plan for the land. Let me mention that the owner bought like 1.5 plot then and he's selling this portion to us. Anyway, I have chosen to get the land surveyed and the 'survey number' inserted in the DOA. Would that be a smart move? Moreover, is that price good for the land?

Technology MarketJapanese Company To Start Paying Employees In Bitcoin by sinorte(op): 6:14am On Dec 15, 2017
A Japanese company will start paying part of its employees’ salaries in Bitcoin, as it aims to gain better understanding of the virtual currency, a spokeswoman has said.

GMO Internet, which operates a range of web-related businesses including finance, online advertising and internet infrastructure, will start paying up to 100,000 yen (£660/$890) monthly by Bitcoin to its employees in Japan from February next year.

“Employees can receive salaries by Bitcoin if they want to,” company spokeswoman Harumi Ishii said. “We hope to improve our own literacy of virtual currency by actually using it.”

The offer will be open to around 4,000 employees of the GMO group in Japan, she said.

The company started a Bitcoin trading and exchange business in May. And next month, it will join the so-called “Bitcoin mining” business – gaining the right to receive new Bitcoins as a reward for helping keep the network secure by approving transactions.

World Bitcoin prices have surged globally this year, soaring from less than $1,000 in January to $17,000 this week.
