Congratulations tanimofe: Long Post and testimony time!!!!
Been on Nairaland for more than 5yrs - it started with the US birth trend, of which I was denied a visa twice when I wanted to birth to my son in 2018, I took time off from the Japa struggle, and 2020/ 2021 started again on another UK Student Visa trend, after everything I was denied twice again, I cried my eyes out, am like " e bi like say my head no travel out of this country" told God he was not fair to me, after all my struggle, he could not even pity me because of my kids and answer my UK visa plans. I gave up, faced my work, and invested my money in some properties. I met a friend who encourage me again, and advised I don't give up. i told him I was going to think about it, in my mind am like this one does not know am done with all this wahala. after a rethink, took a step of faith, got admission and gbam visa process started. Timeline: submitted March 27th Upfront Medical: 28th March Biometrics: April 1 Medical updated to pass: April 21st then the wait ....... on the 7th of June, was reading through the trend and saw when someone posted mailing the embassy, na so me too summon courage ooo, I mailed and the following day eligibility started. Congratulations aamey15: Its PPR GUYS,
I am so so excited, and I would like to share my testimony. Started this process January this year and I have to say God has been good. I learnt a lot from this platform, spent sleepless nights literally just reading and reading--- oh I read a lot, at some point I got obsessed and was scared but i knew i had to research. Then I summoned the courage and started compiling my documents. It took my almost 3 months to get all documents together and I applied April 9th. I have to give a special shoutout and THANKYOU to the one and only @technix who reviewed my SOP( because I had drafted it before making contact with him) , but guess what guys he did more than that, he went above and beyond to advise and guide me on the process. I would send him messages at odd hours stating my concerns but he would calm me down and reassure me that it would be alright. I have to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for being a great support throughout this process, you are truly God sent. If anyone needs help with this our Canada Parole please guys trust me he is your guy. He is over capable and I am grateful our paths crossed. Applied – April 9th Upfront medical was done – April 19th Medicals was updated – May 18th ( I had to raise webform after I didn’t get a response from them) PPR- June 3rd

Facts about my SOP (7 pages) • I called it Letter of Explanation (That is what I saw on the IRCC portal). • It was written by me within 3 weeks, with the help of the Almighty God. Contributions were made by my husband, 2 student already in Canada, I also got a contact from Nairaland, already in canada whom I sent it to for review and he shared an SOP (an extract) with me. I added somethings from the extract to my SOP. • I used this format: Introduction, Academic background and Work Experience (BSc. Biochemistry; completed 2008, MBA; completed November, 2021 and 10years work experience), Why I decided to study the course, Career aspiration and Volunteering experience (I added my volunteer experience because I read that it is appreciated), why school of choice, Why Canada, Proof of Means of Financial support (I created 2 tables, one showed expense and the second table showed amount available; Rella; OJC group also affirm this format when I shared with her). I had 2 lump sums: 7.5M from my co-operative savings which was transferred to my account on 04.01.2022 and my husband transferred 5M to me; a day before I submitted my application (I contacted @TheGabby; OJC group who advised that my husband should transfer it and not leave it in his account) • Home ties: Family ties and Economic ties - My husband and Children, my professional membership and responsibility, aged parent (my mum will take care of the children to enable me focus on my studies and not be distracted), prospect of the course I’m going for and increased earning power when I return, Impact on Africa Continental free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Stages of Anxiety • Medical Update: Feb 3rd IOM, but was not updated until Feb 23rd. This took long compared to the timelines I’ve being seeing (I did not receive mail from IOM after medical, so I contacted them and they sent my result and informed me that it has been forwarded to IRCC). N.B: NO Webform was sent until it was updated. • Passport sent to Abuja: When my passport was delivered by DHL to VFS for stamping on the 28th March, 2022, there was no acknowledgement email, I had to mail them before they sent my tracking number (4 mails was then received within few minutes intervals). Whenever I track it on the VFS site, the same message (application is under process at the IRCC office) is what was displayed for 4days. On the 4th day (31st March, 2022), I sent a mail to VFS Abuja to let me know the true status of the passport sent to them for stamping. Few minutes later, I received a mail from them stating that decision envelope has been dispatched (different message from what is shown when I track it on VFS Portal). About 3 hours later, I received 2 emails that the decision envelope has been received from VFS, Abuja at CVAC, Abuja and has been collected from CVAC, Abuja. (I checked my IRCC portal and Counterfoil just updated; No email received from CIC) • Passport picked by DHL from VFS Abuja on the same day; 31st March, 2022
How I coped with the anxiety • I prayed to God (I’m a Christian) • I surf nairaland for any info, a lot of screenshots to read over and over again • OJC group chats
Note: I decided to do it myself because of the experience I had with a college admission gotten through a popular person/company on Instagram offering a free admission processing (but high exchange rate for application fee). When I got access to the application, he used an unknown person as my next of kin and included unknown number as my next of kin contact. I changed it on the portal and when I complained, he said it doesn’t matter. I was shocked and right there, I made up my mind to secure another admission (University) and apply for the student visa myself which I did with the help of the Almighty God.
It has indeed ended in praises.
To all PPR hopefuls, I wish you all the best and to those keeping all the do-it-yourself platform active, thank you so much. |

I don't think you have anything to fret about. If it would be a problem for your bank to procure CAD from CBN and remit same to Flywire, I'm sure the bank would have advised you to cancel the initial request and submit a new one in USD. That was my experience with my own bank. TomisinFemi: Hello everyone. I made my flywire invoice in CAD not USD. Though my form A has been approved (debited) but not disbursed. I hope CBN will transfer in CAD not USD cos flywire said they will return payment in wrong currencies and I've been seeing people's posts about having to convert to USD first.. please help, thank you |

I'll suggest current CBN rate + 10 naira to be on safer side. You may still better check with your bank. pean06: Thank you very much. I have funded the account again…. Which rate(CAD) do you suggest I use to estimate the amount that is to be in my Acct? I am expected to pay 9,122.08 CAD |
