NairaOcean: Passengers aboard a local bus were taken aback when a woman boarded sporting a terrifying makeup look. Despite the passengers' evident fear, the woman appeared entirely unfazed by their reactions.
babasolution: With the way certain sections of the country believe so much in this project despite its suspicious outlook.
What if the project turns out to be a white elephant project, or one that takes decades to finish like the LAGOS badagry after so much as been pumped into it.
What will those people say and do eventually?
Look the way Nigeria is being run is sick,at this rate, this nation will forever be crawling.
The most populous black nations and it's constituent tribes especially the major ones will be looked at as black fools.
There's so much to do with little funds yet there's so much waste.
Tinubu better deliver,he is carrying the legacy of the southwest on his shoulder as concerns Nigeria,he brought in Buhari who failed totally and embarrassingly.
If tinubu fails also not only will Nigeria be severely impaired but the southwest will loose all legitimacy and bragging rights.
There's no escaping this.
The southwest will be held responsible for Nigeria,if tinubu fails as they have held the most significant portion of nigerias leadership from 1979 Obasanjo, 1999 Obasanjo, yemi osibanjo VP,to TINUBU now, it's a path they willingly chose.
Not 'what if' bro; it has failed before it even started, because the funds to execute it simply don't exist
This APC admin are wild scammers, Nigeria hasn't seen the like of them before. Buhari and his goons are toddlers compared to this new set of thieves
Koppaguard: I sent 9000 naira to moniepoint pos operator in my area yesterday night, and he claimed to have not received it, I waited all to no avail, even when I heard a long beep sound, he said the transfer wasn't mine, I told him to write down his pos account number and name so that I will verify from moniepoint directly, he said he has no pen, I had to buy pen from a nearby store so he could write down the details, a whole financial outlet doesn't have a pen for record keeping, Unbelievable . This 9k was meant for fuel for my business generator as light for the past week has been abysmal in my state, this morning I had to send my colleague that I went there together to withdraw money last night to tell him to check the transactions he did last night through the pos as I had gone to my business , he told my friend that the pos he used last night is charging somewhere, someone that uses solar in his shop and all charging takes place inside his shop, when my friend confronted him, he became defensive, please I am suspecting a clear case of swindling here, he might be doing this to other people and I want it to stop, this guy happens to be someone doing well in his present location, why would he be behaving like this, I have sent mail to moniepoint regarding this and also dropped a message on twitter aswell, what is there in going through your transactions to know whether the money is there or not, the thing just weak me. Reference 099MJKL24133agCF His moniepoint details is also below
Name on account : T Y Barbing Saloon.
You should have taken the POS from him to check at that point when you heard the beep of his credit -alert. The use of force would've been justified even, and if he resisted his neighbours and fellow POS cashiers brought in to arbitrate
Now you're at a disadvantage and he clearly has the money with him. Am sure they have an association that you can also report him to in that local area...
proeast: I just had a nasty experience at the Indian consulate in Ho Chi Minh City.
Here is the entire story:
On Friday, I went to the Indian consulate in HCMC to apply for one month tourist visa, after booking online the previous night. On getting to the consulate, the lady at the reception took my documents inside and after a while, returned to tell me that my visa has been granted in principle. That i have been issued with a single entry visa. However, I must pay 6.3000,000.00 VND about $250. I was shocked when I heard this because I already paid the agent that booked the appointment $100 thinking it included visa fees. They said it was because I’m a Nigerian and we are charged higher. Nevertheless, I decided to go ahead and pay the amount to save myself further stress. But the lady again, insisted I must pay cash.
I called a Vietnamese lady who accompanied me and she helped provide the balance because I had only 3+ million VND with me.
After paying, they collected my passport, Vietnamese visa and then conducted biometrics on me. Then I left.
This morning, I received a call from the consulate that I have to pay another 8 million VND otherwise my visa would not be issued to me. I was shocked and I told them that I can't pay a dime again. They either issue my visa or refund my money. The lady agreed that I should come and get the refund. However, on getting to the consulate, they refused to give me the refund. That it was a new policy. Eventually, I left with my passport. No visa! no $250!
I'm currently feeling robbed and dehumanized. I don't know how to go about this to seek justice.
Pls can anyone help me with advise or pro bono services because I believe I have a good case and such inhuman acts shouldn't be allowed.
Indians are worse than blacks, exercise extreme caution in any dealings with them
TopNotchTrends: The battle for control over rivers state is getting more interesting as Wike loyalists have sang that Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, must obey Wike.
It's a fact that there is a disconnect between African American's and African Immigrants living in America. There have always been misunderstanding and tension between these two groups. One group accusing the other of stereotyping and bigotry, and each group being in its own bubble.
Although some attempts have been made by African American scholars to study Africa and Africans, it's been mainly about ancient history. Not much attempt has been made to study contemporary Africa and African cultures and traditions.
And so there has been all kinds of stereotypes and false assumptions of who Africans truly are, and the mainstream media is doing an excellent job in keeping these false narratives alive through their reporting of distorted stories.
In a recent interview, Dr Hakeem Jackson, a scholar of African Studies brought to light the work of Jamal Toure, the author of the book: The African American's Guide to Understanding the African Immigrant, and how Jamal made a bold attempt to document the way of life of African immigrants living in America.
Dr Jackson revealed that the author did a great job in describing virtually every aspect of an African immigrant's way of life; from family life, education, to relationship with African Americans(or other races). There were clear explanations on common stereotypes about both groups (African American and African immigrants), and which ones are true or false.
The author made a conscious effort to be impartial in his depiction of some hidden negative thoughts African immigrants have about African Americans. The book describes the African immigrant's journey from Africa, his positive impressions about African Americans, and how those thoughts change after living in America for a while, the orientation he/she recieves from older immgrants and personal experiences from interacting with African Americans.
After reading this book, I make bold to say that the author did a fantastic job in documenting the personality of an African immigrant in America. It's obvious that he had no hidden agenda other than to present the facts as they are. I feel that's probably due to the author having an Ethiopian wife, and so he has a better knowledge of the African immigrant's experiences in America.
The book may stir up some emotions (positive or negative) in some readers, but for an open minded reader, it will greatly educate and reorientate you on who an African immgrant truly is and his/her perculiar relationship with African Americans.
It is my opinion that anyone interested in improving race relations or multiculturalism, should read this very educative book.
DasaintHope: Little background: I was born and raised in the North, Kaduna state to be precise, so i happen to experience first hand the lifestyle of core Northerners aka Hausa. So i've not been here since 2011 religious crisis. I lost my mom last month when i was deployed in Sri lanka, i came back last week to see my aged father in Kano, you know spend my leave with family.
So here's the story: Since i've been here ( a small community in Wudil Kano), ive noticed a trend. Gone were the days when beggars could only be found on the street, or amongst the disabled. A vast majority of the populace have been reduced to beggars. I mean some of this people literary knock on our gate and shameleslly sollicit for financial help from me especially knowing well i'm a visitor in the community, or even my sibling or my dad. According to my father, this has been the norm for a while, and popsy happens to be a retired Reverend and would always help people unless it's not in his power to do so. Elders, children, even their hijab adorning women literary approach me with sob stories anytime i venture out of the house, especially if im putting on anything remotely resembling millitary fatigues.
What is puzzling and still hardening my heart against this people is this: This are the same set of people who will collect 1k, maggi and oil to sell their vote. Or vote along ethno-religious lines with the illusion of holding power to the north, to islam, or to spite another segment of the country. I hold no pity for them, God forgive me.
Let them suffer for 600 years.
Until Nigerians unite and understand that it is the rich vs poor, not islam vs christain, not igbo vs Yoruba vs Hausa, not APC vs PDP vs Lp, Not BAT, Atiku, or P.Obi. Let them suffer i say.
It's the same in the south west, in the grassroots. All those area boys are now full blown beggars
Okortor: Everyone shouldn't take this advise o else death awaits some people... Na who chop belle full dey reason to gym, no b who never chop with multiple financial challenge go dey reason gym except e ready go 6ft.
Cheap hobby-grade drones can patrol and film in 4K resolution remote areas where kidnappers can hide their victims yet are inaccessible to road vehicles. The Nigerian police could work so much more effectively if they were issued readily available Chinese-made DJI Mavic 2 Pro quadcopter drones that can cover over 13 miles round trip of pre-programmed surveillance flying and filming on a single battery charge when fitted with extra capacity batteries.
Nigerian police don't want all this shît you're simply spoiling their business. Kidnapping is too lucrative for them
They are always the ones urging you to pay the ransome as soon as possible so that they can get their share
This can never happen in the suffersticated zone...those innocent small boys would have lost their heads, hearts and other vital parts to ritualists by now
IMF wants Nigeria to collapse like DR Congo, so that western nations can be taking our mineral resources for free under the facade of UN peacekeeping force
