Family / Re: Appearances Are Deceptive: Meeting Old Classmate By Ademola Henry Adigun by sirjoe1124(m): 12:09pm On Oct 30, 2019
post=83580362:

We had not seen each other for about 30 years. The Lord has been kind to me. When I saw him again - this time at a hotel lobby - he was looking simple. He wore simple Ankara attire. I felt touched. He walked up to me and was glad to see me again. But deep within me I was not impressed with his status compared to mine and poor me, I couldn't hide it. We exchanged contact details and I could see the joy in him as he collected mine.

I told him I will drop him home in my brand new Range Rover and I pointed it to him. He declined and said he had already called for his car. It looked old, a 2001 Honda Accord.

I invited him the next day for lunch at my house. A part of me wanted to impress him - To show off my success and affluence to him, while another was to discuss opportunities and possibly help him.

He drove to Parkview where I lived. He looked impressed with my home. I had taken a heavy mortgage. In fact I was heavily in debt. We had lunch. He told me he was into small business and particularly real estate. I brought up more business discussions, but he didn't sound too interested. I asked him how I could help him. He said he was fine. I even told him if he was interested, I could help him secure some loans... He looked at me and smiled.

He told me he would invite me over soon to his place. His old car came for him. I was grateful to God for what I had. “Fingers are not all equal”, I thought to myself...I was lucky. I worked in a good place.

Two weeks later, we went to see him in Ikeja. My wife and I. She was reluctant to go because she was not impressed with the man's status as to warrant our visiting him in his house. I was able to convince her that we were close friends in college. We saw the Estate. *Wuraola Estate.* We asked for directions to his home. Those leading us spoke his name with deference.

It was a simple but lovely home. A 4 bedroom bungalow. I saw 4 cars parked in front. We entered his home. It was simply elegant with a touch of class inside. He welcomed us warmly.

Lunch was well served. His wife called him Baba Wuraola

During lunch, he asked about my MD. He said they were friends. I saw a company gift on one of his tables nearby. That company owned about 38% shares where I worked. I enquired from him about it. He smiled. He told me he owned the company. He also owned the estate.

I did not know when I called him sir... I was in awe of him too.

I had learnt a lesson in humility - A big one. Appearances are deceptive. He noticed my discomfort.

Driving back home, I was very quiet. My wife was humbled and extremely calm. I could perceive the thoughts in her mind. I looked at myself. Living on loans, heavy loans and showing off while someone who pays my salary is quite modest and living a simple life!

What PDP clowns want from Government

*Buhari should let Nnamdi kanu threaten others with violence and not arrest
*Biafra should create BSS army and openly order guns from turkey and be left alone
*Elzakzaki and Shiite should block federal secetariat abuja, vandalise peoples cars, burn government property and nothing should be done

In my JS1 then I was fond of sleeping in the church, I was so known for that, that usher's no longer wake me. On a certain Friday, I couldn't tell who invited my crush for a night vigil in other to please her by not sleeping: I decided I wouldn't sit through out the prayer session. Then the worst happened, I fell while sleep standing and disrupted the night vigil. It's more than 10 years now, I haven't visited that church.

Sensible Traditional Theologies!

Hmmmmmmmmmm, how i wish it works that way! undecided

Well from the time of Abel till today religionists who are fanatical have spilled innocent blood of sincere and honest hearted believers! Luke 11:51

God is ready to avenge their blood and to ask from the hands of their executors! Genesis 4:10

That is why the interest in religion is fast disappearing amongst youths who are the active ones and many of them are becoming lawless! Matthew 24:12

This is the end time, and soon none religionists will soon dominate the world political scene and they will make rules to stop religion completely. That is what you're reading at Revelations 13:16-18

At that dreadful times things will become extremely difficult for those who wants to keep their faith going, only those who endured to the end will see God's Kingdom! Matthew 24:13

All hypocritical religious title chiefs will surrender and their followers will become totally confused, meanwhile there will remain the one and only true Christians that most people failed to recognize all these while! Jehovah's Witnesses will continue to preach and teach in all their neighborhood for people to know that there still remains one religious group that has not denounce their faith! Matthew 24:14

Then the hypocritical religious title chiefs and their former fanatical followers will become jealous of the JWs just as Cain did to Abel in the beginning, but God Almighty will intervene in behalf of his true worshippers! Psalms 105:15

Satan and all his demons who have been deceiving unbelievers will be arrested {Revelations 20:1-3} and all those who failed to recognize Jesus' brothers will be destroyed! Matthew 25:46

So Religion will soon be banned according to God's word {Revelations 17:15-18} but true Christians will continue to preach and teach since their own faith is not tied to buildings called Church. Satan, his demons and his human agents try to attack them. That's when God will order Jesus "Start ruling" {Psalms 110:2} and Jesus will kill all those who failed to recognize his true followers! Luke 19:27
Nobody will be jealous of JW. Please stop misleading people,JW is a religious institution just like the opus dei and it doesn't conote they're more superior than other religious entities

I have 4 clients from this thread, one has received his goods & remaining 3 yet to receive their goods

Here's remaining 3 clients & reasons;

KUSIMO: his goods is still in China due to China holiday of which he's aware. We ordered his goods from different seller, some were refunded which he replaced with other links & he got notified with 48hours if orders will be refunded because any order not shipped after 24hrs of placement, I always query seller to know what the problem is. We both communicate very well on phone & agreed to ship goods to Nigeria after Chinese holiday. I don't think this moniker was him

MADUABUCHI: He ordered from one seller. He paid on 23rd of September, his good got to China warehouse on 25th. I notified & we shipped out on 27th of September using normal air cargo & delivery to Nigeria is 7-10days. Today's makes it 6th day we shipped out & he's very much aware. I don't think you are him

TOCHI: we placed his order from one supplier, but his goods got to China warehouse a day before start of Chinese holiday, he's very much aware and agreed to ship goods to Nigeria after the holiday. I don't think he's the one that owns this moniker

Please who are you, kindly identify yourself let me know

Politics / Re: YNaija Governors' Ranking 2019: The Good, The Bad And The Terrible by sirjoe1124(m): 5:42pm On Oct 17, 2019
OndoFirstBorn:
The YNaija Governors’ Ranking for October: Absurdities vs Revival

It’s almost like the time between the new batch of governors were sworn in and now has been a fallow period. Performance-wise, things haven’t really peaked, but we are starting to see consistency amongst a few governors. Here’s the YNaija’s Governors’ Ranking for October.

THE GOOD:
Op you're terribly mad... Please visit Abia, even Umuahia is in a terrible shape.

Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia)

Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration in Abia has been plagued by the non-payment of workers’ salaries which has led to protests in the state. But recently, there is a semblance of positive governance.

Ikpeazu is set to embark on large scale production of shoes to meet the increasing demand for locally made products, hence the idea of automated production. Aba is already popular for production of footwear, bags, belts and other leather products by creative artisans working in shops. Furthermore, no fewer than 30 young men and women from Asia were sent to China last year where they were trained in automated production of shoes.
Mods please ban him for such a misleading information.

Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo)

Aside pushing for cannabis legalisation in Nigeria and exploring cannabis as a source of revenue in Ondo, Rotimi Akeredolu’s 100 days since he won the 2016 guber elections in the state was a good start. Now his administration has raised an alarm over the growing number of quack doctors and unlicensed health practitioners in the state.

According to the Commissioner for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, the state has sealed eight private health facilities and hospitals in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

In terms of payment of salaries and pension, Governor Akeredolu has been proactive while offsetting salary arrears owed by the previous administration. His infrastructural and Industrialisation drive cannot be overemphasised.

Seyi Makinde (Oyo)

At this point, every thing Seyi Makinde does normalizes good governance and what it should be like. Recently, the request of the governor to access N7.6bn loan to upgrade farm settlement in areas of the state to become farm estates has just been approved by the Oyo assembly.

Makinde had, three months ago, sought the assembly’s approval for the loan. The approval was not without dissenting voices from the opposition All Progressives Congress members, who queried choices of farm settlement located in just one federal constituency.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos)

Much has been said about Babajide Sanwo-Olu going invisible since the start of his dispensation, devolving into social media jokes. And although Sanwo-Olu did inherit the issues bedeviling Lagos from the past administration, there hasn’t be any real, tangible impact from the governor. Lagos and its transportation system is still hampered by bad roads, and recently Sanwo-Olu just declared a state of emergency, with eight engineering firms contracted to rehabilitate and reconstruct bad roads.

Importantly, this is showing true intent towards addressing the perennial problem of bad roads, which has perniciously contributed to gridlocks over the years.

Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi)

Atiku Bagudu’s debut on this month’s YNaija Governors’ Ranking launches on a good one, by donating N30m to the Christian community in Zuru Emirates to build churches. According to Bagudu, the donation was to enable the Christian communities in Zuru to build churches and other on-going projects.

THE BAD:

Umar Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano)

Since winning the Kano election and re-elected into office, Abdulahi Ganduje is only just submitting the names of his constituted cabinet wherein he retains former commissioners. He took him five months to do, which basically indicates how he has no sense of priority and ambition, unlike his counterparts.

Godwin Obaseki (Edo)

While Edo is dealing with issues of floods and bad roads, the bickering the current governor Godwin Obaseki and his predecessor Adams Oshiomhole is still ongoing. Oshimohole, who is the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), was recently told by Obaseki to observe protocols in the state while visiting in order to ensure less acrimony. The statement implies that both figures aren’t ready to prioritise the affairs of the state.

THE TERRIBLE

Darius Ishaku (Taraba)

Darius Ishaku is making his debut on the YNaija Governors’ Ranking for the first time, and expelling a 100 student of the Taraba State University for constantly criticising him on Facebook puts him in extremely bad light. Joseph Israel, who was admitted to study Chemistry but switched later to Laboratory Science in the state-owned university, had his admission withdrawn on the excuse of not signing a matriculation form. But a look into Israel’s Facebook reveals his critique of Ishaku’s administration.

From an April 26 post, it reads: ”If Gov Darius sells seven cars in his convoy alone, he will solve the problems of Taraba State University.”

David Umahi (Ebonyi)

The YNaija Governors’ ranking for August featured David Umahi, and the backlash from Ebonyi indigenes on building an international airport in the state. This time, Umahi uncharacteristically ordered his security detail to shoot anyone who blocks his convoy. The governor gave the order following how his convoy was blocked by mourners at a wake-keep he attended in the state recently. While Umahi is entitled to protection that comes from his office, instructing that anyone that blocks his convoy to be shot is barbaric, given that these protesters are oftentimes are unarmed.

If anything, it only creates an atmosphere of tyranny in the state and public distrust.

Bello Mattawalle (Zamfara)

Despite not being able to curtail Boko Haram terrorism in Zamfara, governor Bello Mattawalle in September sent all staff of Shettima Model Primary School, Gusau on an indefinite suspension following the alleged desecration of the Holy Qur’an in the school. Now, Matawalle has announced that the state would soon enact a capital punishment law against the desecration of the Holy Qur’an in the state.

Zamfara has since instituted Sharia since 2000, and while the state’s capital punishment conforms to laws, it does feel extreme given that a majority of Northern governors have contributed to the impoverishment of their states.

I have a girlfriend of two years and since we have been dating,I ve been the one taking care of her.

Since we started dating, she has never bought me a gift or spent a kobo on me but I ve been the one buying the gifts, such as phones, clothings, shoes, give her money to make her hair and run other expenses too.

Even when she wants to go out with her friends for a sit out,she demands for money for entertainment, like #5-10k which I oblige her.

Infact,I ve been d one doing all d spending, which I know most guys will never do for 9ja babe as it seem to be magarism.

Just that I like to take care of my woman.

But,I have one big problem with this my girlfriend which is escalating by d day.

Since,I am not d type who is used to moving around with cash, there few times when we re out and we need to buy drinks, snacks, fruits or something for mostly herself & myself rarely, that I ask her for cash within d range of #1-5k.

In a day or two,she will calculate all d monies she spent, including as little as #100-500,asking me to refund her.

She has been doing this in d last two years and it is getting worse and it irritates me and I don't want to confront her to avoid a quarrel, but it still shocks me that she could be so inconsiderate.

Infact, whenever she goes out with my car with fuel in it,she will cruise around town with d car till d fuel guage is on red and don't bother to even buy fuel of #1k.

There was a day d car went off in d middle of d road after she consumed fuel of #5k.

Most times if she exhaust fuel of #3-5k and I ask her to kindly buy #1-2k to top it,she will insist and torment my life until I return d #1-2k to her.

Last Sunday,we went to a resort and I was short of #1,300 of d cash with me to pay d bill of #5,300 as their pos was having network issues and I asked her for d #1,300.

Till this moment, she is asking for the refund of #1,300.,Habaaa!!!!

This is a girl I support with #50k upkeep every month.

My brothers and sisters, this is a girl of 25 I want to marry

I ve just been thinking if her type can make a good wife or even stand by me If in marriage I go broke.

Even to cook is a challenge.

Always a champion of Cold Stone,Kilimanjaro,Tantalizer and so on that she takes pleasure in displaying on her WhatsApp status for d whole world to know what she eats.

And not that she is from a rich home.
They are just managing to survive in their family but she is always running an Audio life on social media with an iPhone x I bought for her.

I am just tired and confused b'cos I love her.

What do I do?

I think for the first time in the history of this Buhari's administration, everyone who has even just a little sense is in support of Buhari. Though Biafran Flattinos have sworn by the graves of Emeka Ojukwu and Chinua Achebe that they will never see anything good in Buhari, these same Flattinos are in support of this policy of border closure. What this implies is that Biafran Flattinos may not really hate Buhari, may it is his policies that they hate. But then, criticism is not the same as revolting, cursing and abusing our dear Buhari. Let's criticise government responsibly and work together to move Nigeria forward.

But, wait oooo, did I just type that shit up there?
Too much hatred and bitterness in one piece.
Can you comment reasonably without getting Biafra involved in your stupidity; this is exactly why we can't move forward in a divided nation mared by nepotism, tribalism and religious intolerance.
When Buhari does something commended we commend him; that doesn't mean you should force your political ideology on everyone or that everyone should support your choice. One thing makes man superior to the angels and that's the ability to make choices, so be reasonable and learn to tolerate each others ideology.

With all this looting and many more revealed, some people are still shouting no sign of change yet, they even say it's political persecution.

But I believe, it is the right thing to do.
If you believe too, send this to other people to garner more support for the fight against corruption and looting in our nation. There must be consequences for such crimes otherwise Nigeria will not develop.

WHERE ARE THE #WAILERS?

Recession didn't just happen, people looted Nigeria into RECESSION happening.
Thank God we are going out of it gradually for now and we know better days are ahead.
Wow... You're way too intelligent. Nigeria have lot of intelligent young population but most painfully the intelligence is misused for obvious reasons. Your intelligence can be used for some more important things other than supporting a disastrous government for a token of 30k and selling dead vultures.
You can try creative writing and copywriting, there are lots of opportunities available that can earn you alot of money and keep you out of Nairaland because of the inestimable writing ability but hell No! You're wasting your talent for a paltry 30k, be creative.

jeson:
what is broken depends on the height of the fall. Take a close look at your device & see. In most cases it is usually just the glass you need to replace. There is a digitiser that is not scratch or shatter-proof, there's no extra form of protection on this device.
Can you replace the glass only
