European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Carling Cup Final: Arsenal Vs Chelsea by SirKay3(m): 2:16pm On Feb 03, 2007
No problem.

It's not going to be the GUNNERS' celebration that day. It's for all.

Like we use to say in our local Yoruba language, we dey use the Cup open EMIRATES STADIUM.

Chelsea ladies in your camp distributing wines and rice that day! Hmn, leaving that to my fellow GUNNERS to decide
Sports / Re: Premiership Remnants by SirKay3(m): 2:11pm On Feb 03, 2007
It all bogs down to the coach, team mates and Aghahowa's mentality.

If he's interested in being successful in England or not is another factor.

Let's wait and see

BlackMamba:

I wonder if Arsenal even considers the existence of such fans in marketing their product. What a waste of passion.

It could happen to anyone please. It's not an ARSENAL thing.

How on earth would anyone ever imagine a BOLTON fan stabbing another fan. What would a Man U or Chelsea or Liverpool fan do? Na to send the poor boy go meet Baba God now

Easy on him please

Now that he's going to be playing in the EPL, let's all wish him well.

Let's forget about whether he told us his real age or not.
Sports / Re: Sos For Stabbed Arsenal Fan- Dodiki Anjorin by SirKay3(m): 1:44pm On Feb 03, 2007
@ Akolawole,

I am o, but maturity plays the major role.

Football breeds unity and friendship, not enmity brother. We should all show care, luv and concern for each other, despite the fact that we do throw banters at each other sometimes.

That's just the fun of it.

@ kit,

Thanks for standing in for me, moreso that I've been disturbing you since yesterday afternoon. Sure you understand why sha? You have been doing a great job, keep it up boy.

You deserve an award for this!

@ ALL,

We have never had anything like this done here before, but this to me, is an eye opener. I believe it's a cause worthy of acting on, not only for the guy in queston now, but others when the need arises. Our being human matters a lot, let's put sentiments apart please.

I'ld be glad if it's a thing we get to do whenever we are called upon to. Agreed money isn't easy to come by, but sacrifices like this counts.

Please, this is not an ARSENAL thing, but NAIRALAND's. If we agree to contribute to this cause, let's work things out before next Thursday.

Remember what the widow woman in the Bible gained, after giving out her last meal to Elijah.

@ Seun,

Sorry, we are not specific on how much we are raising for his medical bill. Just like myself and the officials of ARSENAL Naija Supporters' Club did not specify any amount.

No amount is too much to take care of his medical bill or upkeep even after he's dicharged from the hospital
Sports / Re: Sos For Stabbed Arsenal Fan- Dodiki Anjorin by SirKay3(m): 6:18pm On Feb 02, 2007
@ Seun,

It's for the guy's medical treatment

@ justkunmi,

If we all agree to raise money to help with the medical bill, then we can now agree on how to raise the money, who to pay to (or if there's someone to represent us all, it may be paid into his/her account).

Then we all on this thread agree on when to visit Vanguard Newspapers office, with Mr Anjonrin's family for the donation. We can choose members to represent us.

Mr Anjonrin's picture, with that of the knife used to stab him, the position of the knife in his skull, when the knife was removed is also there in Page 14 of today's Vanguard.
Sports / Re: Sos For Stabbed Arsenal Fan- Dodiki Anjorin by SirKay3(m): 5:45pm On Feb 02, 2007
All,

Was able to get through to the Sports Editor of Vanguard Newspaper (Mr. Onochie. Cellphone N0. 08056570421) on phone this afternoon. Officials of ARSENAL Naija Supporters' Club were also linked up with him by me.

We have all agreed to make donations to Dodiki Anjonrin, in order to assist with the medical expenses. Mr Onochie linked us up with the Health Editor, who would eventually contact the family members of Mr Anjonrin, to meet with the Supporters' Club officials, at Vanguard Newspapers office, by 12noon next Tuesday, 6th February, to hand over what the club deem fit to be given to our fellow GUNNER.

We did not bother to ask how much the medical bill is or how much is required for the whole thing, but we felt that since it's his love for the ARSENAL that earned him this trauma, even if we give his family 1 million naira, it's not too much.

Whatever you think is OK for the family to take care of him, let's not hesitate to do so please.

We have to decide who to get the money to and how NAIRALANDERS could be well represented when donating our own portion to the family.

Remember, this is not just for ARSENAL fans alone, it's a noble cause for all.

It can happen to anybody.

Many thanks

Anyway it's strange to hear that this kind of thing would happen here in naija.

Since it's real, my candid advice for all, not only ARSENAL fans is to be very very careful, most especially those of you that goes to viewing centres to watch matches.

This game is for friendship not enmity please,

Let's pray the guy survives by God's grace.

May God help us all

Tell them that the GUNNERS' ARSENAL is fully loaded. Bring them on

Bolton is next on the firing line!

Mine was a month after my wedding in 1996. Was on official duty to Escravos, my company's operational base in Delta State.

It was an AERO Contractor Dash 5 plane. It was prayer galore o. Had a window seat, though had to shut off my eyes cos of fear, inflight. The plane was so noisy, that when we finally landed, I disembarked with blocked ear.

Flown several times after that, each time it's still the usual prayer galore (had encountered storm inflight once WARRI-LAGOS route, it's traumatic). May God help us sha.

It's fun o, but na God

@ ALL GUNNERS,

Let's forget about how we stunned Man U and face the next team in the firing line, Tottenham.

TOTTENHAM vs ARSENAL (1st Leg, Carling Cup Semi Final). 9pm on SuperSport 3

The young GUNNERS are at it again. Sure this is going to be the first silverware to be taken to THE EMIRATES this season.

Family / Re: Is Marriage Not Boring? by SirKay3(m): 9:20am On Jan 23, 2007
Handle it prayerfully before going into it.

By the grace of God, my marriage is going to be 11yrs this June and it's been lots of fun, though there were very few troublous times. Our kids, 2boys and 2girls have been so wonderful. Even bought a car for my wife last year to celebrate our 10yrs wedding anniversary.

Prayerfully, we make it work everyday. It's just like yesterday and we've got no regret.
