lol....Better safe than sorry. The ones we should be glad for are the ones that came in to the UAE without PCC in the first place and mulling at the new expenses to incur a PCC.

I have an Indian friend that lost a job offer of 4,500 because of PCC. Only to get back from India last week with his PCC...Only to hear that Indians are now on the exemption list. Chai.

Poor dude is on the street looking for new job. For someone like him....he will have done anything for this news to just be one week ealier than this.

Wow... I can't imagine how that guy will be feeling right now.

Really feeling for those who have already gone via the stress of obtaining and authenticating the PCC already.

Okay first and foremost i don't get information from any agent, I do the process myself and i give the information directly from immigration, they were initially contemplating the Abuja process because people were complaining about it.

Yes the steps your mentioned are correct but e-visas are still being issued as at even yesterday, i will attach one of many e-visas that i got yesterday. But recently, most people prefer the Abuja process because they like to dis-virgin their passport and the visa stamp on their passport makes them feel good which i understand smiley

So some visas are coming full(i.e E-visa paper) the old way while some are coming half to be completed and stamped at Abuja

Also if the person is coming for tourist/visa, he/she does only biometrics and sometimes they ask for PCC. But if the person's intention is to come search

for a job, then they will request for PCC, Medicals and bio-metrics.

Attached Visa was issued yesterday but i will advice anyone coming to go through the Abuja process.

The Abuja process seems quite cumbersome, I think they should stick to the initially process.

I STAND TO BE CORRECTED,,,,,,,,,,,, as of 6th February, they changed their rule (from attesting one document of d pcc to 2documents) I was also affected Cus I went with 18k but was shocked wen they told me its two (finger print page and pink page)...........
Things are changing everyday concerning this PCC and UAE job stuff...

Okay nah, as of two days ago, a friend of mine did his and said that --- from MOFA, one now has to go to police HQ to verify d PCC Nd pen down their names,, den police HQ will forward their names to embassy... So if ur name no dey d list;;;;; Kalas for u.

Today's news on AIT, as I was told.. Fg wants to look into the massive relocation to UAE Cus "agents" use that medium to exploit Nigerians....

I STAND TO BE CORRECTED... Shalom

With regards to the AIT news thing, that's completely false. Nothing of such was said. Or maybe it's still on the pipeline, but for now, that's baseless.

Hello everyone (Both in Nigeria and Dubai)

Am currently at a cross road on whose advise to follow while to trying to get a trip to Dubai to work
Someone told me last year to get N950,000 for work visa while another told me this year to bring N1,200,000. But just last week a man told me to get a month visa with N180,000, ticket for about N450,000, then travel and when I get there I will find a job and renew my visa.

Please at those who are there what should I do because even the money is not available I dont want to borrow and get scam again.

Please advise me.

thanks in advance.

From the little I have learnt from people here, getting a 3 months tourist visa is better. Also check wakanow.com for tickets far cheaper than 450k. Carefully read the thread and you will get all the necessary information you need.

He is talking about security job, u and I know is very difficult to get job with three months tourist visa, even after paying agent fee. So if he is not coming with direct employment visa with that 1m, is better he use it and start business

Well i guess your case is quite different from most testimonies we have gotten here. Meaning that what works for some, won't also work for some other people. I hope you get what you are looking for soon enough

Nothing wrong with Nigeria passport or first timer in traveling with one way ticket. It is all about the type of Visa you have. Do you have employment visa or tourist visa? If employment Visa...You can fly one way. If you have an emirate ID(resident Permit) already...You can fly one way as well. If you are on tourist visa....respect yourself and book return ticket. You can decide to either open your ticket when you touchdown or cancel the return and seek for refund(Refund policies apply).

Oh, thanks alot.

well I came in on Sunday with 3months Visa from Abuja airport, no OTB was asked. The only thing they asked was my invitation letter or hotel reservation which I had none. I tried to to plead with them that I will lodge in a hotel when I get there since I have my money with me but they refused so I had to go to a cyber cafe at d airport n booked for 2wks hostel reservation. Its a 3 page document that cost me 500naira each to print n 500naira internet charge, something that would have cost me less that 300 outside.my bags were not searched, no other disturbance. So try n book a hotel reservation or get an invitation letter from any of ur guys in Dubai b4 going to the airport to avoid shedding tears.

Good day, Please did you purchase a return or a one way ticket?

Better as in how? Do Nigerian airports now do better customer service than the other that I didn't know of? In my opinion they all same bag of shit. just go with your accurate/genuine travel document and you will be fine by Nigerian standard.

Apart from work visa...if you are already a resident of UAE(or the country you are flying to)....You can get a one way ticket. If you have a "strong international passport" i.e UK, Western European passports, USA e.t.c You can talk your way out of it at the boarding counter. In some few cases, the airlines will still vehemently refuse but will give you an option to buy the return ticket at the counter to be be fully refunded at the destination counter in case of no problems with the countries immigration.

Hence a first timer with a Nigerian passport can't get a one way ticket? If the answer is positive, please what are the options? Thanks

Too much problems, I will not advice anyone to waste even 500k coming to uae, better use the money and start up something, am sure 90% will prefer to take the money they spent in coming to uae and return back immediately if the opportunity comes, unless u are coming for vacation and shopping

That's entirely restricted to you.

FYI...

Certificate of Good Conduct is called Police Character Certificate (PCC) in Nigeria. It may have another name in other countries e.g. Police Clearance Certificate.

As far as I know, you can only get the PCC at CID Headquarters, Alagbon, Lagos. Thereafter, it should be attested by MOFA Abuja and UAE Embassy Abuja before coming to UAE.

Please see below for more clarification on the new law coming into effect February 4.

http://m.gulfnews.com/amp/news/uae/government/conduct-certificate-must-for-new-job-visas-from-february-4-1.2154243?__twitter_impression=true

Good morning, please any idea if the attestation in Abuja i.e in the MOFA and UAE embassy can be done by proxy? Regards

I greet every body. Please I have two questions
1. NonnyG earlier said one needs to authenticate only one's highest qualification. I'm kinda surprised to hear that because people have always been saying they authenticated/attested both their O level and B.Sc cert at the MOE and MOFA as well as the UAE embassy.

2. I booked my flight with Travelstart but now I wanna change the departure date. Please any clues on how I can do that? Thanks all

What he said was: authenticate your O'levels and highest certificates with the MOFA and MOE. But you can then authenticate only your highest certificate be it B. Sc or HND with UAE embassy, just to cut cost. This is because with the UAE Embassy, only your highest certificate can suffice, as that's whats most important. But if you have too much money, you can do both with the UAE embassy.

This is what I call not only a nasty but also a very rude response to what I posted. You don't shove people simply because you feel you are previed to certain information than others, if you feel I made a wrong assertion, you correct the person and not assume the person asserting what they don't know. I read something online and also watched it on CNN and expressed my opinion, your response was irrelevant.

Go with your Originals and also make photocopies, they will sign and seal behind the original document while the photocopied will be stamped, sealed and signed. I have no idea if they accept statement of result in Dubai.

And in the case were your original documents are laminated, how will they put a stamp or sign on it?

If u have a well paid job back home don't com to dubai in the name of hustling, dubai is a place for those that are unemployed back home in Nigeria

The word "well paid" is relative. It's just like telling a banker in Nigeria who earns 100-200k not to come to dubai to hustle because he earns well, noting that job security with private outfits isn't guaranteed in Nigeria, and with time he might earn more than that in Dubai with all necessary basic amenities In place. Point is, if you have the hustling spirit, know your worth and you are spiritually equipped, just follow the leading of the spirit.

In that video the guy said some of them have 2 years visas and all, and the question is how can you get a Dubai 2 years visa without a job, then on what premise were you given the two years visa. I just think it's a case of guys who went with tourist visas and are so desperate to get a high paying job which requires some level of experience or qualification.

You Nairaland builders are a bunch of thieves. "N9M will only get you to window level downstairs". Are you serious?!!. I will never hire a builder from NL. They are all thieves targeting Nigerians in the Diaspora. Op, don't listen to this greedy bastard. With N5m you can conveniently get to Lintel level downstairs. I did it with that and was hugely ripped off as well by the builders and the suppliers. An honest bricklayer later confessed to me that when I order for 500 blocks, 300 will be supplied and laid before I show up. Making it impossible for me to accurately count the number.
With rigourous supervision it could have cost me N4m. NEVER TRUST ALL THESE SO CALLED BUILDERS, ENGINEERS AND CONTRACTORS HERE.

Thank you my brother. When I first visited this site for advise the estimates I was getting was quite outrageous. They will discourage you with over estimated budgets. Right now I am roofing my three bedroom bungalow in Nnewi, Anambra... And I know how much I have spent so far.
