She stated the same thing every user on here has been stating since the beginning of World War 2. grin

Women shouldn't hide under the "Weaker Vessel" theory to abuse and beat their husbands and men shouldn't beat up their wives neither.
im thanking her because at least she doesnt believe in that your mind boggling line of thought "they deserve a little beating" justification

do you have a problem with me agreeing with what she said?

no mind him or her.

when a white man does it, it automatically becomes "advanced" forward, bright thinking, civilized and what have you but when a african does it instantly becomes primitive, backward, dirty, monkey way of life and all things not desirable.

wonders
Emmm. . .Yeah, that should bring the issue of "Wife Battering" into more surveillance.

Most Nigerian Women over here tend to beat their husbands and abuse them cause the govt is on their side when it comes to violence.

Let's be real, What kind of man would be patient enough to watch a woman spit on his face and abuse him cause of a sexist law that bans beating a woman up? undecided
like i said there is no excuse for domestic violence be it man or woman. beating never resolves anything
FamilyRe: Why Do Husbands Beat Their Wives? by Sissy3(f): 8:34pm On Jun 14, 2010
with this her mindset? i doubt it. she will probably think she deserved it because she provoked him first

yes, men and women should learn to control their angers. women annoy and provoke, men annoy and provoke

however, there is no justifications for raising on your hands on a person in marriage. there are other ways of resolving conflicts that doesnt involve abuse.
FamilyRe: Reasonable Advice Required Pls. by Sissy3(f): 8:27pm On Jun 14, 2010
Falajuro

has already touched on the important points.

family planning should be a shared discussion and agreement between couples. so you have the right to be mad, however, dont let this mishap tamper on the trust in your marriage. be calm and listen to her reasons of doing it alone and work on it

Women dey beat men. They give slaps and even kick them in their balls.

Fact is no woman should hide under the weak vessel label to be a nuisance.
yes, men abuse women (more) and women abuse men

there is no excuse for domestic violence be it man or woman

but i find it very disheartening that a young lady would have the mindset that most women deserve a little beating because of some silly justification. it makes me wonder the kind of thing she would tell her daughter when she finds out she was beaten by her husband for "disrespecting" him

how can you say some women deserve a little bit of beating?

so women are now little kids that needs to be beaten when they misbehave?

so beating is the way to punish a woman(a little child in your opinion) when she misbehaves?

kai, mama gee, i weep for you and your future daughters
CultureRe: African Ladies Abroad Carrying Babies On Their Back!(Dirty Clothes) by Sissy3(f): 11:32am On Jun 14, 2010
give me one reason why carrying a baby on the back is wrong?

if carrying a baby on the back is "primitive" what do you call your "whites" who strap their baby in the front or put them in strollers? advanced? because they are "whites"? pray tell

i guess those abroad should also stop wearing their native wears, and eating their foods because they are also "primitive" according to your white mans "manual of advanced living" book

my family is one of my greatest gifts in life. they will always be first for me in anything.

while career is still important, i wouldnt have the joy/fulfillment of working and placing emphasis on my career and coming back to a dysfunctional household. career ends but family will always be there

Tgirl4real:
Guys, letz discuss this:

I was watching a soap on TV recently where a girl's(about to wed) younger siblings(with a wide age difference) call her fiance by name. At first, I thought probably cos they are noy Yorubas, but I later discovered that the girl's mum is Yoruba. Should we always embrace western culture and forget ours?

Again, I watched another one, where the kids greet their parents hi mum, hi dad. Am I old school or we don't value our culture anymore?
IMO, i think shes being a little bit disrespectful by calling her elder sisters husband by name. i wouldnt have a problem with it if she was the older one then calling him by name is no problem in my view. but then again, if her culture has no special name they call this kinds of people i wouldnt blame her. and if the sister has no issues with her young sis, doing so then  . . . . .

i see nothing really wrong in the greeting "hi mom, hi dad" in many instances as long as she doesnt wakeup in the morning and tell me "hi mom". i dont think youre being old fashioned but i personally wouldnt be so strict about it

It's impossible that there were no signs before they settled down.
thats not entirely true. in many instances there werent ANY initial sign during courtship or early years in the marriage. many develop the habit in the marriage. so abusive signs arent clear caught during courtship as many tend to believe/assume.

youre right though that many women who are "fortunate" enough to see the signs early ignore it under the pretense that "he will probably change after the wedding"

FamilyRe: First Pregnancy. First Labor. First Baby. How Was It? by Sissy3(f): 5:14am On Jun 14, 2010
Ebony,

thats not entirely true. some women still deliver vaginally after CS aka VBAC. the problem however, is that its a very delicate thing due to many complications that may arise therefore many doctors are very reluctant to the idea and you know if any thing goes wrong its on their head.

its still possibly to deliver naturally after CS. a friend that delivered through CS before and was in labour waiting for another CS, the baby couldnt wait any longer she delivered naturally with no complications whatsoever.

the issue is that many women arent aware that they can still try vaginal birth after CS therefore dont even bother to access their risk/chance

abi? i remember back in my days, a female pro. was younger(very young) than her age therefore she had to work extra hard fashion-wise/acting much older so she could be taken seriously by the students cause she is easily mistaken as one of the student. people started suggesting to her to grow wrinkles so as to appear older and be taken seriously. you can imagine.
