Obj is the best president weve had so far and has done pretty ok for someone who only has the experience of military and farmer.

scale from 1-10 objs term was 6 not great but fairly OK in comparison to other adminstrations before him. but Nigeria will have even better than obj in the future.

I dont think so.bankole has obj's support and right now, those members are interested in getting a return ticket;so they wont do anything that would jeopardise that.
Naw - the guy isnt in the Obj's camp- He fumbled big time by not following the Senates decision to give jonathan powers- .
When jonathan became acting president, bankole switched sides. His mistake was not thinking that Jonathan could be president.

He should go for being dumb! Hes too arrogant and should have known in Nigeria you have to be intelligent and act docile.

Attackers blow up Goodluck Jonathan's home

Attackers blow up country home of Nigeria's president elect

The Associated Press
Wednesday, May 16, 2007
YENAGOA, Nigeria: Unknown attackers destroyed the country home of Nigeria's vice president-elect, Goodluck Jonathan, with dynamite on Wednesday and blew up a nearby police station, killing one officer, officials said.
The attacks came before dawn in oil-rich southern Bayelsa state, where Jonathan is currently governor, said the region's police chief, Julian Okpalake.

He said there were no immediate reports of casualties in the attack on Jonathan's home, which is not his primary residence.

Official results from Nigeria's April 21 presidential elections showed the ruling party candidates, Jonathan and President-elect Umaru Yar'Adua, the landslide winners.

But the opposition says the vote was rigged and international observers called the election deeply flawed, characterized by ballot-box stuffing and illegal acts by electoral officials.

In some regions, particularly in the oil-rich, southern Niger Delta region that includes Bayelsa state, the ruling party was announced the runaway winner in areas where no voting actually took place, observers say.

Wouldn't it be better to just have a visionary leader rather than just an incompetent looter? That way, a majority of Nigerians can have a better life. That things have been bad in the last 50 fifty years should not stop us from working for a better tomorrow. You need to get rid of this 'jeun soke' mentality. There is more to life than being the son of a man who is a friend to a looter. Karma is a naughty woman and it always strikes.
Visionary leader? as of right thats not what Nigerians want, they want a guy from their region. So lets give it to them. grin

Whats the big deal? Ojuwku and biafra guys can support IBB but i cant? Why not?

A few reminders

6. Igbos are republicans and they usually do not listen to any particular political leader for any reason whatsoever. But in Ojukwu for once in its history the Igbos have come to respect, cherish and applaud this man for his principled stand in defense of his people even when he risked all his father had considering the fact that his father was the first millionaire in the region and any war would affect his wealth more than any other person but he saw the need to protect and defend his people as more important task when compared to defending his wealth as a lot of our politicians do today.

7. For those that brag about producing the presidents and vice presidents since after the war my questions are

a) Why is that the South East has the lowest poverty index in Nigeria?
b) Why is it that the South East (according to JAMB statistics) leads other regions in enrollment into our higher institutions in spite of the typical "Igbos are traders" mantra?
shocked shocked shocked I dont anyone who brags about having a president from their region its only SE'rs who are crying to be president or VP. When Obasanjo became president he didnt do anything for yorubas- IT GOT WORSE and when Buhari was president he didnt do anything for fulanis-hausa same wit yaradua and co.

Infact when a president or vice president emerges from ones region- its as if they are worse off then before.

I am a nationalist
I think its better to vote a SE'r for president or vice on the PDP platform so corruption and elitism can make its way into the East No more Biafra, no more Apga and no more complaints of marginalization.- All regions can be corrupt together and no one can complain about any tribalism.

You insulted Ojukwu because you said that he endorsed IBB's political ambition and then I told you that IBB announced his ambition at the heart of Yoruba land with Yorubas as his host/Guest, including your brother/governor Daniel in attendance, but you kept silent and your silent now in that regard is deafening. HYPOCRITE.

IBB is not considered any enemy of the yoruba and neither is ojukwu because yorubas have no enemy. They are people do politics not based on ethnic sentiments but self interest individually.

Oyinlola Eyes VP Seat Under IBB

Fresh facts have emerged on the latest moves of the embattled Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola to scheme for the post of vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party come 2011 polls.

According to an investigation conducted by OSUN DEFENDER, the protracted illness of President Umar Yar’Adua, which has altered the political permutation at the Presidency seemed to have pushed Oyinlola into his new scheme. OSUN DEFENDER has authoritatively learnt that the controversial Osun State Chief executive has begun shuttling between the former Military Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida’s (retired) home and the immediate past President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Otta Farm over his ambition.

It was learnt that the governor has since lost interest in the senatorial bid he initially contemplated when the PDP’s shopping for vice presidential candidate who may pair with a Northern presidential candidate began.

Information has it that the Okuku-born retired Brigadier-General has begun to position himself for the job of the second citizen in the federation, should the position is finally zoned to the South-West.

IBB’s Campaign Posters Flood Oyinlola’s Home Town, Okuku

It is no longer news that the embattled Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun State has been jostling to be the running mate of former Military President of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Babangida, should the latter shows interest in contesting the 2011 presidential election.

According to investigation, some sets of people within the fold of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the council area have been paid to ensure the spread of the posters into the nooks and crannies of the area.

The posters, which are in different colours have littered the hometown of Oyinlola.

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that the posters were pasted at night.

At the Okuku Day celebrated last Saturday, the posters and pictures of IBB flooded the venue of the programme, just as some people wore T-Shirt with the inscription of “IBB for President”.

I can see that youre mentally unstable

Onlytruth:
This is where you people are completely wrong. The West was in no position to make "maneuvers" of any kind. The Yoruba was under-represented in the military (I'd say out of cowardice). Ojukwu tried to help balance this by demanding a balance which would have benefitted the whole country and make Easterners feel safer in Nigeria. Your people cowered out.  On top of that when you joined, you started fighting the same man who tried to save you.

Please leave the so called external forces out of this thread. External forces did not steal $300 billion between 1970 and today. Your people and Hausa did.
Intellectually the West is far above other zones . Military strength isnt everything. Military strength is only needed in militray governements. In a free and fair democractic election the winner would most likely be from the West time and time again.
the north and west are just using Zoning to have mercy on SE and SS folks-

Why did he insist that Yorubas should meet their quota in the military?
Because he knew that igbo officers can fall under northern domination- which happend.

What could he have lost if he sold his people and bowed to Gowon?
What is the meaning of selling his people? Awolowo didnt opt to secede and yorubas kno he didnt sell them.

Why did he demand that northern troops leave Yorubaland?
Because he feared northern dominance in the army.

more questions are coming after you've answered these. . .
Now answer my question

Why did Obasanjo apoint the highest amount of igbo in his adminstration?

Why did Obasanjo want Soludo to be VP and the presidency zoned to the SE in 2015?

Why does Obasanjo have different igbo ladies as baby mothers?

Why did Zik opt to stay in Nigeria and not leave when Awolowo said they should seperate from the north?

Why are you scared of the north?
