Nothing is going to return to normal. How a country claim they’re friendly to immigrants but intend to increase IHS fee to £620 per year from October? Leave European Union because they want to be more “independent” & not share their resources with other EU countries?

Do you know that most Nigerians work more than 20 hours a week & that comes back to affect them when they apply for PR? You see an engineering student doing care work because that’s the easily available job he can get to pay off tuition balance and survive. At the end of the day that work experience is totally irrelevant because it does not relate to your field of study or career plans.

Let’s even talk about getting a job after CONVID19, do you think there’s a chance in job market where so many Britains are unemployed? Or a job market where companies are closing up & filing bankruptcy?

I don’t know how things were before 2012 so I can’t talk on that but getting PR in the U.K. is now harder than ever. They keep introducing new rules everyday.

U.K. only benefits those that are wealthy enough to pay off their fees so you can study well , and utilise opportunities offered to enhance your employability.

I know many Nigerians that got their PR after their studies before 2012. You are likely referring to the period when a law was enacted by former Prime Minister Theresa May,which made it impossible for international students to get PR and was kept in place from 2012-2019.

Boris Johnson made a change to the law in 2019 and international students will get 2 year work permits. And hopefully things will return to the glory days before 2012, when majority of Nigerians were able to get jobs and get permanent residency in U.K. As long as you got work experience during your undergraduate or master you were almost guaranteed job after graduation in UK before 2012.

Forget U.K. o. No matter how you try getting PR is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Brits are very selfish and conny. I have never heard or seen in person that studied in the U.K., and got PR eventually except they married a citizen or some sort.

The countries I know of in Europe are:
United Kingdom which recently changed their policy and stated they will give 2 years post graduate work permit
Netherlands- 12 months post graduate work permit
Germany- 18 months post graduate work permit
Norway- offers 12 month post graduate work permit,
Sweden 6 months post graduate work permit
Finland -6 months postgraduate work permit

My advise is to always go with the country that offers the longest post graduate and that is within your budget. It takes time to find a job in Europe, even if you did several internships.

I have severally said it here, if you care to visit my previous posts! There are students Job readily available to do in Middlesbrough but less professional jobs. It a good city for a newbie in Uk because it is considerably cheap compared to other cities in Uk. Middlesbrough is the second cheapest city to leave in the United Kingdom. I have given out a formula my mentor told me before coming to Uk which worked for him and others that follow that path! Formula goes like this

Plan to study in Uk

Look for a good University

Preferably let the location be in a cheap environment

Save more save more when your work

Start sending out your CVs

If employed move out of the city

I can’t believe you call Darlington cool but discredited Bournemouth. There’s no difference between someone in a small village in Ogun & someone in Darlington. That place is very very dead. Nothing happening there. Middlesbrough is boring. People go to Newcastle to have fun. Only care work and menial works are available from agencies like Primary care & Akari care. Yes facilities are new but not the best place. However if you’re looking for a very cheap place & tuition, then it fits you. Before you remind me of how I’ve not gone there before, I do my research, I know people there, I check indeed.co.uk , I watch you tube & I am always asking questions.

Friend you’re correct no doubt but If you look at it too, that 2.5m will sort his accommodation & feeding all through. He will be ok with 20 hours a week & he can dedicate more time to his studies & enjoying the country. Everything no be about ranking depending on the angle. It’s better he goes to USW & come with a distinction than pass from Coventry. He might even be employed in Wales because the job market there ain’t competitiv. Money aside, there’s a lot of distractions in Coventry. My guys there are always clubbing in Birmingham & London. If you’re not careful, enjoyment go carry you go o

Coventry is a low ranked university. It is a third rated university same USW.

If it were that you gained admission in second rated and first rated university such as University of Birmingham, University of Manchester, Imperial College, University College London, Cambridge e.t.c, then you can leave there.

Also with that 5000 pounds, you will live comfortably in Wales as it will sort all your accommodation in school making you focus only on your study. Dont come to UK and work uncontrollably making you graduate with pass like most people do here. You can also use the extra change to improve yourself in gaining a
skills and trainings in relation to your studies.

This will make you stand out for employment. Go to USW. Conventry is a low ranked university. T
Both schools are in the same category in the eyes of employers. Good luck.

Denmark & some EU countries are already reopening gradually. There’s nothing to fear. You better pay before recession comes & you end up paying more than you bargain. I think student visas became harder to get when some Nigerians students started making headlines across the country for hundreds of thousands to million dollar scams. How you be let in the a country as a guest to get world class education and you start scamming their citizens.?It is still a puzzle to me the kind of mindset some people have.

There’s no better option o because that’s the only course that can accept your 3rd. You won’t get offer for IT or Health related courses. Just make use of your time there by doing internship or relevant part time work or placement or volunteering work etc. God will be with you. If U.K. is your final bus stop, so shall it be. You go find work

The question you should be asking is what did the 7000 that got student visas do right?

Bros forget this one no be argument. My boss is a former house of rep. His daughter 19 applied for a study visa with her dads statement. Tuition all paid. Accommodation all paid and she still got denied. I know reputable people that have applied for Msc with millions from working in their account and still got denied. Infact join Canada visa thread and read for yourself. If it’s about money, nah that one is nothing. They usually deny based on purpose of visit and employment prospects of the course you want to study

Clearly not from 2018 because that’s when their rejection madness started. I’m not saying you can’t get PR, I’m saying that the study visa now it’s not very hard as compared to earlier years. People have millions than needed but still get denied so it’s not about money all times

Canada has various several straight forward requirements you have to fulfill to get a student visa. The rejections are because they likely think you will be in breach of your student visa. One of the conditions of the student visa is to not work more than 20 hours a week.

I came to Canada on a student visa and got PR after I obtained the work experience required.

So, they likely require higher financial requirements, so people they grant student visas don't breach that conditions.

Apply to a Germany university ( Public universities are tuition-free). However, you need a block account(roughly 4.5m) Whether Bsc or MSC once you graduate, you can apply for residence permit which typically last 18 months, once you get a job you can apply for permanent residence. Live there for 8 years and you are eligible to apply for citizenship.
