Not only for PSW, working more than 20 hours even affects your studies. Most students come out with 2:2 or merit or pass because they’re working more hours to pay tuition and bills. I regret doing business during my uni days because to say I read more, I would have come out with better grades. Earning money is good but certificate first
hosey:
Nice one. But ensure you concentrate on your studies. Ensure you are not working more than 20 hrs per week. The consequences could be devastating later when applying for PSW or post brexit immigration.

Good luck.

Coming from chairman of negativity & quarrel but well said this time. It’s like you have turned a new leaf. Bravo to you Tobi
Tobexin:
Just thinking aloud! The negativity on this thread is absolutely lousy and it would make you believe that as a Student in UK you can not make it but that’s actually not the truth as it being portrayed out here. I noticed those false alarms are proportionally being bLoaned by those that haven’t flown out of Nigeria before. My advise to all prospective candidates is this don’t mind what people are saying about UK here. Make up your mind to achieve the best and surely you will achieve the best. I have been in UK for less than 5 months and UK has been predominantly good to me in all entity. Atleast I don’t struggle to pay my bills and feed myself as a week work can settle all my expenses for one month. I even have a car in UK as an international student despite people portraying having a car as a big deal in UK. Go for the best and the sky will be your limit.

I get that but there is a pattern here if you haven’t noticed. . . Topic gets derailed , people start fighting/arguing, which leads to many hidden posts and all that.

And just like that, this thread is turning to a marriage / spousal thing. . . Thought there was a thread for that?

Which advise again? Provide what you were asked and if you don’t have, find another alternative course that doesn’t require sending any evidence
Access2017:
Hello everyone,

I just got a conditional offer from the university of Northumbria ( course MSc. Microbiology) on the basis of providing sufficient evidence of a lab based research project.

Please I need your advice on how to go about it.

Many thanks...

Too much sense no go kill you. Very correct man spot on
hosey:
That 3000 pounds can sort out your accommodation in a cheap shared accommodation in Birmingham
for 250 pounds per month.

Also, with 3000 pounds, you can save and remove 20 family members from poverty.

Focus on developing yourself if you want to get job in UK. Udemy and coursera IT courses and project management course will help you a lot.
Many are free.

No one cares about your school. This is not Nigeria. It is about results here.

STENON:
undecided I was talking about the spouse on tier 4 dependant visa
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Skymoore1004: 4:55pm On Apr 15, 2020
You’re right except it’s arranged. One lady asked me to pay her 2m so she can marry me and I will go as her dependent. Told her thank you very much but no because I know people that have done it and life became miserable for them. The lady might be threatening you with divorce if you don’t do certain things for her, even after you don pay her before oh. You know Nigerians like to exercise power too much

Quite risky o
STENON:
Not sure about the email talk thou sad.
Some people with trusted partner did a low key registry wedding before leaving Nigeria just to bring their spouses here with tier 4 dependant visa and be able to work full time. But it's very risky I must confess, everyone will claim to love you once abroad is involved but on getting here, they changed to another person. I have read and heard so many bad and good stories associated with that route, So many divorcee and unhappy home as a result of dependant visa. Not to scare you but just saying the reality of life. May God help you .

lols. Please ask your questions here, my big bosses are all here to guide you.

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Skymoore1004: 4:51pm On Apr 15, 2020
55 hours a week? I hope they’re not interested in PR long run because it will bite back at them unless you mean dependants are the ones working the 55 hours and student 20 hours
STENON:
Ye, very possible. If you are married or have an understanding spouse, you are good to go. Getting tier 4 dependant is another opportunity for your spouse to work full time in UK while you are studying and be able to support you. I have friends here working minimum 55 hours per week to assist their spouse by setting up a monthly direct debit from their bank account to pay school fees, while the spouse works 20hours per week to pay for just house rent and other Bills.

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Skymoore1004: 5:18pm On Apr 14, 2020
Correct. My friends tier 2 got denied because of that more than 20 hours something but he got visit visa before so we were confused.
They even highlighted how he did not pay metro fine one time. We were amazed about their length of investigation. U.K. is like walking on egg shells
LagosismyHome:
It even very expensive cheesy.... all that years of schooling in the uk is no joke

In terms of sticking to 20 .... it's in the best interest of every student visa applicant to make sure what is recorded on HMRC is 20 hours. Everything is electronic now , so going against it can hurt someone in PSW, tier 2 or subsequent visa
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Skymoore1004: 5:03pm On Apr 14, 2020
I dunno but they have a way of checking. If you broke the rule, they will surely find out. No two ways about it
Cigbojugha:
At the point of applying for ILR following the 10yrs route, how do they check if a person had kept the 20hrs per week work rule?
I am guessing its through the NIN. Am I right?

Guys i need a urgent clarification on this Family Income Affidavit.

Due to the fact that am sponsoring myself, how do you think i should approach this Family Income Affidavit in such a way that it will benefit me.

Q1. Should I include the amount in my own personal Account or not.

Q2. If i do, will it affect my chances of obtaining scholarships or a reduced tuition fee?

Please i need info from those who have gone through this before or those who have the info.

Thanks in anticipation

Walahi I don’t understand this your post but if you say so then ok
Bourne007:
Looked up the old PSW visa requirements and says similar to what you've uploaded. You and I both have heard or known a few people who benefited from the old visa using the 10 year route.

Hope this clears any doubts. Cheers baba wink

Everytime marriage marriage. That’s why Oyibo dey fear black guys because they know why most people pursue them. The hustle is real
lander237:
The 10 year route to settlement (otherwise called Indefinite Leave to Remain, ILR) is based on 10 years of LAWFUL/LEGAL residency in the UK, IRRESPECTIVE of the type of visa (of course, excluding visit visas and other short-stay visas).

For example, it could be like so:
1. 7 years on Tier 4 visa + 3 years on marriage visa = 10 years lawful residence
2. 6 years Ter 4 visa + 4 years limited/discretionary leave to remain (visa based on family and private life) = 10 years lawful residence.
3. it can even be 5 years tier 4 + 3 years work visa + 2 years marriage visa = 10 years lawful residence.

Conclusion: as long as you have been in the UK for 10 years legally, you qualify.

Ok but it’s tough sticking to visa terms eg 20 hours a week if you plan to work and pay tuition balance. At the end of the day only 10% actual gets PR through that route because they’ve kept to all TERMS.
LagosismyHome:
With no PSW it very difficult and almost impossible due to the maximum duration, especially if you are not joining spouse and other Visa type but with PSW it possible .

I do know a couple of people who got it through 10 years a while ago. The 10 years doesnt discriminate if its student or not . Just be legal for 10 years
