Getting to specifics how many of these plants are located in restive areas or which communities are restive is it Omotosho, Papalanto, Geregu, or those ones located in the North even those in the South South just 3 states are restive Bayelsa, Rivers and Delta. Or when did Cross river, Akwa Ibom join restive communities.

We Nigerians are well aware of their tactics imagine a hopeless ruler blaming sabotage? where does sabotage not occur in the world? and how are their visionary rulers able to conquer it. Akunyili of NAFDAC does she not have saboteurs? They even made an attempt on her life but that did not deter her work.

Hopeless and visionless OBJ

Compare the pump price of petrol in the U.S to the national minimum wage and compare Nigerians pump price to the minimum wage. before you commend government for increasing prices of fuel. Do they want to kill us?

I am very sure if you sleep in darkness and the cost of filling your tank in a week is the national minimum wage per month, you wont be supporting pump price increase even by =N=1
PoliticsRe: FG: NLC Strike Is Political by sleekdot(m): 5:13pm On Jun 22, 2007
WHy should govt increase pumpprice if they really have the love of the masses at heart?

The govt is simply anti masses or why the draconian increase?
PoliticsRe: From Number Three To What? by sleekdot(m): 5:07pm On Jun 22, 2007
@Sleekdot,

Sure you are right about PDP zoning. As long as PDP is the ruling party (and it appears they will remain so for long, given the rag-tag nature of the opposition parties) the zoning is guaranteed. Everyone has a right to contest for positions they are qualified for, but the PDP as a party knows where they have zoned the presidency to. You can waste your time and money if you choose. Nothing for you. Ok?
You now see why no Yoruba contested under PDP but despite the so called freedom/advantage or 'chance' given Yoruba under the PDP in 1999 Ekwueme contested. Why?
PoliticsRe: Obasanja should face tribunal if this is true! by sleekdot(m): 5:01pm On Jun 22, 2007
Then why are you Africans not earnestly pursuing the trial of American and British leaders that have caused the massacre and abuse of more than 600,000 people in one country.
What is my own business with the people America and Britain kill? Cant they talk?
OBJ killed my own country people in Odi and Zaki Biam that is why I am shouting for him to be tried!!
PoliticsRe: From Number Three To What? by sleekdot(m): 4:53pm On Jun 22, 2007
The zoning is a party thing PDP zoned to the North that was why no Yoruba dragged it with them on the platform of PDP, all parties have their own but since PDP is the most powerful party we assume the zoning of PDP is the zoning of Nigeria.

@ Afam,
If they have actally given the South West the right to produce the president in 1999 then what was Alex Ekwueme looking for at the PDP primaries and Ezeife at the AD primaries
Can you answer that question without throwing red herrings?
PoliticsRe: Olusegun Obasanjo's Legacy by sleekdot(m): 4:43pm On Jun 22, 2007
What are your basic expectation from a good govt and exclude Security of live, Power supply, Unemployment then what is good about the govt?

What good things can a govt of 8 years claim to do that excludes the above?

Militaries under different leaders are committing atrocities all over the world but once they are African, the whole world asks for their head.

Well, it is good to see that the new generation racism is being led by Africans against themselves
That racism chant wont work here because when did Hussein, Milosevic and other Serbian Generals become African? you comit genocide then you must face the law whether you are African or not
PoliticsRe: Obasanja should face tribunal if this is true! by sleekdot(m): 4:30pm On Jun 22, 2007
Obasanjo did not send soldiers to massacre Odi. Don't you people know what cops do to cop killers? Then imagine what soldiers would do to cop killers.

Abeg all you calling for a tribunal should first tell the ICJ to hang George Bush and Tony Blair or Shut Up!

Do you honestly think Obasanjo instructed them to make sure they killed as many people as possible?
Charles Taylor, Saddam Hussein, Milosevic, did not tell soldiers to kill people too but they were held responsible
PoliticsRe: From Number Three To What? by sleekdot(m): 4:16pm On Jun 22, 2007
If Ekwueme had won the primaries or Ezeife would you still have said that they gave the Yoruba's the slot?
PoliticsRe: From Number Three To What? by sleekdot(m): 4:10pm On Jun 22, 2007
This means that when it gets to your turn , you have it on a platter of gold, just like the Yoruba
The Yoruba's fought for it remember June 12 even in 1999 The north conceeded but OBJ had to defeat Alex Ekwueme in PDP and Olu Falae had to defeat Chukwuemeka Ezeife in the AD not on a platter of gold and dont be too sure that it would get to your turn if you dont fight for it; you know what happened to Azikwe and Ekwueme who thought it would naturally get to their turn.
PoliticsRe: From Number Three To What? by sleekdot(m): 4:01pm On Jun 22, 2007
I am not Igbo but try and read with an open mind I think the fate that Igbo's are suffering is the handwork of their rulers who traded the yearnings of the populace with the minor political appointments.

During the 1st republic Tafawa Balewa contested, Awolowo contested but what did Igbo's do they(Azikwe) went under Tafawa Balewa as number 2 citizen,  fast forward 1979

2nd republic Shehu Shagari contested, Awolowo contested  what did Igbo's do they(Alex Ekwueme) went under the North again as number 2 citizens , fast forward 1992

3rd republic During the 1992 elections the front runners were Umaru Shinkafi and Adamu Ciroma (N.R.C) and Shehu Musa Yar'Adua and Olu Falae (S.D.P) where were the Igbo's probably waiting for number 2 post again before IBB disqualified oldbreed politicians.

Forward 1993 During the 1993 elections the candidates were Bashir Tofa (N.R.C)and M.K.O Abiola (S.D.P) where were the Igbo's they (Sylvester Ugoh) went under the North again.

As a result they have been taken for granted that we would always give them something

You know it was as a result of M.K.O palaver that the south west had a shot at it.

Now the south south becauseof its agitatation is ahead of Igbo's in the pecking order now

Imagine Yar'Adua uses 8 years and Goodluck if he behaves well uses 8 years then power to the North for another 8 years before coming South Probably South East that is 24 years wait!!

With people like Orji Kalu who are now not afraid to stand alone the future is bright for the IGBO's. Igbo's should stand alone and not let the ruling parties use them to gather votes and later give them minor posts instead form a party of their own and vote for it massively and stay with it. It would be better to be an opposition that to be in the ruling party without any say in the governance.

I am sorry if I offended anyone with this post just my feelings

Yeah OBJ killed people/commited genocide/ ethnic cleasing in Odi and Zaki Biamand the treatment meted out to Charles Taylor,Saddam Hussein, Slobodan Milosevic and other Serbian General should be given to him
When people on this forum like ijogbon and backslider now attempt to justify itmakes it more irritating I pray the Odi teatment would be given to their villages in Nigeria Since they are not in the country their relations would benefit from the govt/soldier gesture

@Sleekdot

Please start the story from the beginning.

How come the 12 policemen were killed? Who were they there protecting in the first place?

I sincerely beg to differ on this issue. I was in the Niger Delta at that time and regularly travelled the road between PH and Warri on which Odi is and I totally observed what happened. I do not condone it neither can I judge it. The youths of Odi (Or somebody in Odi) killed those 12 men - who have families, and homesteads and villages. Did you expect the Federal Government to stand by while the sovereignty of the Nation is assailed by a few incompetent 'nincompoops' ?

Moreover there have been precedence in other parts of Nigeria and indeed the world. No NATION will stand by held hostage by a few ignorant peasants (Not the entire Niger delta obviously !!!! Just the ones who think they can kill other people and then flee into the bushes while their entire kindred is decimated). That is what is called WAR.
Odi was a WAR zone. Now any arguments? Is there anything that happened in Odi we have not seen in other war zones around the world? Iraq, Afganistan, Kosovo etc. I do not condone it, but when you scratch your nose with the head of a cobra you should have the venom antidote at hand.

Obasanjo did not start it. He finished it.

Stop whipping up unnecessary

@Sleekdot

My kind Sir.

I see you are passionate about the Odi issue. I sincerely apologise for my insensitivity, you might have lost loved ones in that event.

I suspect you are from the Niger Delta and you therefore more than anybody should know that the so called Struggle has been hijacked by simple minded criminals !

Saddam was killed because he didnt have the guts or the decency to KILL his f**king self, Bush did him a favour. (Note they convicted him for the killing of Men and Boys in a town after an attempt on his life, not the Kurd issue, if I remember correctly)

What I was trying to point out was that though the particular issues escape me now, I know back then the start of the Whole Odi issue was based in criminality. I think they were robbing banks and summin like that? I am not sure perchance you might want to remind me.

And Yes. If some FOOL decided to make my life hell and KILL some soldiers, well, I would appreciate it if the government gave me a few days (Like was done in Odi) to get as far the f**k away from there as possible. Before they do their job.

@Sleekdot

You don't Kill a Soldier or a Police for No Reason at all Your area will be treated as a different nation or a Secessionist nation.

This was done in other places also not only in Odi. NEVER KILL A SOLDIER OR POLICE NEVER DO IT YOU PUT THE PEOPLE IN THE AREA AT RISK. GO AND ASK THE PEOPLE IN BENUE. A FRIEND OF MINE WAS VERY ANGRY THAT ASOLDIER COULD BE KILLED THAT WAY AND THEIR BODIES DRAGGED.

I have friends in the Military in Naija and they are very angry to die at the hands of a Civilian.

personally if you kill a soldier in a given locaton and i live there I will move away from that place immediately because i know true Soldier always protect their own irrespective of the tribe they come from.

Ok

So friends let us move forward in Lagos. Lagos doesn't want to join PDP but want's his right from the govt so that is what we are campaigning for.
Femmylangy and others, to be serious now, Can you give suggestion on how we can make Lagos better?
Anytime I go to Abuja I keep saying Lagos can never be like this Abuja is beautiful and peaceful because of its low population When Highway managers clean the road in Abuja it stays clean but if you do the same in Lagos I give you 30 minutes maximum and see what it would be like.
Lagos is so small in size and the influx of people into it from all over nigeria is awesome. 60% of secondary school and University graduates from the South west, East and South South move to Lagos without anything in mind to do they just beleive a miracle would happen in Lagos so how can proper planning take place? Is it possible for Lagos to shut its borders to immigrant?

Politics is over.Now lets give suggestion on how to improve Eko Ile
