And I asked, as a big Tyne traveller that's travels Friday after work and resumes from uyo every Monday morning, flogging his pencil Camry, " will you be able to flog your cerato like that"? Your guess is as good as mine. A machine is a machine, irrespective of the year. Interior wise, I' ll take a factory leather car Lexus than a fabric Rio. Today I was carefully looking at the roads in PH, and I can tell you, despite all the comments on old cars or Lexus problems, I still found more Lexus 300 on the road than Rio.
My frnd in cotonu gave pics of RX 300, going for N1.4m, looks clean, i' ll take chance with it by DEC/Jan.

I know what airbags are meant for, but I'm guessing OP lives in lagos, crawls to work at an average speed of 30-40km/h and back if his airbags ever did pop it would be caused by a fender bender and he would be a sad man that day.

Brand new 2014 Rio over 2000 Rx300. Why? A four year warranty from Dana covers most but major repairs. A family friend dented her 2013 kia cerato and the repairs were done under warranty. My colleague drives a 2012 Hyundai accent and until recently did not know where her bonnet release latch was. After 4 years, he can sell the Rio add cash and get an RX330. BTW, Kia Rio from 2012 up comes with dual front and side airbags for base model trim with curtain for higher trims. On the other hand, the RX300 has bells and whistles the Rio can't boast of. For a 14year old car, it is adequately kitted. If yhu have other needs for the money or carry around large stuff/people, then the RX is yhur choice. If yhure just a single guy needing a to-fro kinda car, then the Rio is it for yhu. Personally, I'd go for the brand new 2014 Kia Rio.

Don't you think the 2.8m price will even get me a Tokunbo RX 330 and with a few more cash, who knows I could even get a RX 350, but now 330 even looks too flashy for my pay grade.....

Am trying to make a buy decision. My office recently offered us loans to purchase any brand new kia brand, all 2014 version and my pay grade is for the latest Rio, which on the price list goes for about 2.4m
However, am on the outlook for a reliable car that will last long and am thinking a Lexus 300 2003 model Tokunbo which goes for far cheaper. Guys will this be a smart move?
