Car TalkRe: Is It Proper To Park A Car For 3years by smartg(m): 2:17am On Jul 11, 2013
Siena: A car can be laid up unused for even 10 years, as long as correct procedures are followed.

01) Disconnect battery.
02) Do an oil and filter change.
03) Have the ATF and filter changed (automatics only).
04) Remove the spark plugs, and squirt clean engine oil down the bores, then replace the plugs loosely. You'll need to remove the plugs and crank the engine for at least 10 seconds, before refitting the plugs when you're ready to use the car again.
05) Take the weight off the wheels, by supporting the frame on axle stands. Tyres can remain fitted.
06) Make sure the gas tank is full. This prevents tank from rusting from the inside out.
07) Put a good fuel additive in the tank, and run it through the system. This prevents the fuel pump seizing.
08) Make sure the cooling system is charged with a fresh water / coolant mix to minimise internal corrosion.
09) Carry out a brake fluid change before laying the car up.
10) Carry out a clutch fluid change before laying up (hydraulic clutch only).
11) Make sure the car is in a place where it can breathe. Car covers are a bad idea long term, as condensation and mould will form inside the car, and the paintwork will suffer from abrasion (windy periods).
12) Park the car in an open garage / carport. This ensures the car is adequately ventilated. If possible, vent the interior by leaving a window or two partially open, at least once every two weeks.
13) Grease door, boot and bonnet hinges, as well as sunroof tracks (as applicable).
14) If practical, spray the entire exterior with a film of WD-40 or other light oil. This will reduce the chances of external corrosion.
15) Wash the wheel arches thoroughly, to remove dried earth. Once clean and dry, smear a gererous layer of multi-purpose grease in these arches, paying particular attention to the arch lips.
16) Leave some bags of silica gel inside the car. This will absorb moisture, and prevent your interior - leather, fabric, carpets, steering wheel, roof lining etc from going mouldy.

This might seem a lot, but this is the best way to keep your car in good shape during long periods of inactivity. All the above will need to be reversed, and depending on how long you leave the car, the gas would have gone off, and will need draining, and refilling with fresh gas. It might run on the old gas, but it'll be difficult to start, and have zero knock resistance.

Good luck!
nice post from a real car guru.

FoodRe: The Essence Of Leaving Food Served Knowing You Have None At Home? by smartg(m): 9:37am On Jul 07, 2013
Wasting of food is a common sin we commit everyday, why do you have to accept food that you cannot finish? while many people are out there dying of hunger. This also is common among some people, when you give them food, they will eat only the meat and leave the food for you. I hate that wit passion, its better you request for ordinary meat than to waste my food.

RomanceRe: How Do You Handle Financial Issues In Your Relationship? by smartg(m): 5:57am On Jul 07, 2013
Well, don't knw how rich the guy is. But my question is, where you interested in his money or relationship, what exactly do you need from him?, cos many ladies don't their need. Don't judge your 'need' with your 'want'. Any guy that truly want to marry you will not give you money any how or spend for you unnecessary no matter how rich, because any marriage build on expenses will have to be maintained expensively. And no guy want to marry a liability. So my dear stop complaining, if giving you money is the only problem you have with him, then you don't have any problem, cos he might just be watching to know the kind of woman you are, not that he will not care for you if he marries you.

TV/MoviesRe: Lawyers To Sue Betty For "Public Sex" In Big Brother House? by smartg(m): 11:12pm On Jul 04, 2013
Useless lawyers, they just want their names to b heard, instead of thinking of hw to stop the ashawo tv show, they re busy planning on how to sue the innocent free girl, is it because of the money they will get from her or may be they re just been jealous, am very sure they were eyeing the girl too but since she did not respond to them, they now want to sue her for her own freedom. Did they not know what the SHOW was meant? Or did she do anything different from what the show was meant for. Incase they don't knw, Big Brother Africa is a show that is legally meant for public sex expression which is not different 4rm what she did. They should swear if they did not enjoy watching her blue firm when it happened.
PropertiesRe: Why Do Nigerians Fence Their Houses? by smartg(m): 5:13pm On Jul 04, 2013
Security nd privacy is the main reason. Take for instance you just bought a land in a place like Ajegunle in lagos state, after building your house nd its one of d most beautiful houses in that area, and you decided not to fence it because of d beauty. Just guess wht would happen to you nd that your new building.
In Nigeria, a fence adds respect to a building: people will respect your building if it's well fenced, it prevent strangers from moving in nd out of d building any hw,
fence provides security: in a well secured nd developd country fencing a house may look so suspicious, but in Nigeria, its a sign of security. especially whn u wire d fence, those electrical wired-fence are not for nothing.
Talk of privacy: when you fence your house you will feel more at home, you will have more freedom than when you don't fence it.
Therefore, fencing a house is a remarkable nd important thing you must consider in Nigeria whenever you want to build a house, weda in a common street or in an estate.
