Politics › Re: Reno Criticizes Obi's $30 million Brewery Instead Of IPP In Anambra by SmartyPants(m): 8:33am On Apr 27, 2024
gidgiddy:
Why is it this foolish Reno keeps thinking Obi built a brewery? Obi did not build any brewery. SABmiller came to build a brewery in Anambra State and Obi bought millions worth of shares in the business on behalf of Anambra State

That is not the same as being the one who built the brewery, anyone could have bought shares in the business
Seems you have a short memory sir. This brewery was touted as one of governor Obi's achievments when he was campaigning. Thag he brought investment to the State. Btw he owned shares in the brewery too, so investing in it was an act of corruption but that's a story for another day

Bobloco:
Reno Omokri is a rabble rouser.

It's now obvious that Reno Omokri is using Peter Obi to create content

Suddenly, Peter Obi criticism of the project becomes something to talk about but Atiku, his boss was the first to criticize the project , he even went as far as describing it as a highway of fraud
So, logically, it's obvious he wouldn't attack his boss right? What is the difference between Reno and the likes of Aisha Yesufu, whom you follow? In fact Reno is much better because he at least bases his arguments on solid facts and logic which you people have failed to disprove so far.
Politics › Re: LP, PDP Kick As US Report Says 2023 Poll Reflected Nigerians’ Will by SmartyPants(m): 4:07pm On Apr 26, 2024
SoNature:
I was shocked when I read that part too. How can Wike rewrite the results of the entire Rivers State and today he's rewarded as FCT Minister and the US report is saying that the election largely reflected the opinions of Nigerians?

The major problem of this country is that our values are so eroded that wrongdoings have no consequences.
Maybe because Rivers State and the few portions of Lagos where voter supression occurred are a tiny fraction of the Nigerian population?
Politics › Re: Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway: Demolition Of Buildings Commences Saturdays by SmartyPants(m): 5:55am On Apr 26, 2024
XtraFortunes:
This is the Lagos Calabar Propaganda Highway of the APC Agbadorians Governmentgrin

This road will not get to 15 percent completion during the whole of Tilumbu time in office.

We have important roads like the East West road and the Benin Abuja begging for attention. Ekpoma close to AAU is an eyesore. But instead of FG to focus and complete these ones they want to start a new one.

This is like a man who builds a bungalow house to lintel level and then stops it to start a mansion. The Tilumbu led FG lacks direction. You can't govern with Propaganda undecided
Come on stop it. How can a whole federal government of a large nation refuse to build new roads until the old ones are fully repaired? If there were budgetary constraints I might understand your argument but funds have been allocated and work has started on some of those roads you mentioned. The fg is not the contractor building the road so there is no suggestion that their attention would be divided either. Its simply a matter of awarding the contracts to solid companies and doing the necessary monitoring.
Celebrities › Re: 'Pity Men': Williams Uchemba Laments Outfits Women Wear To The Gym by SmartyPants(m): 2:02am On Apr 26, 2024
RingRoadCartel:
I want to believe that he's just trying to be funny, because if he's serious, then this is obviously the ramblings of an illiterate. You don't expect people to wear loosely fitting clothing to a gymnasium, do you? Go find out the English translation of the word "gymnastics". Its actually called "the naked sport". Due to the flexibility required to manoeuvre stunts and handle equipments, you have to wear bodysuits for your own safety. If he's this perverted in a place where people sweat and ooze, I wonder what he'll do at a pool or at the beach?
Lol. You realize the sport of gymnastics is not the same as going to the gymn?
Politics › Re: We Are Paying State Workers ₦70,000 Minimum Wage - Governor Sanwo-Olu (Video) by SmartyPants(m): 7:53pm On Apr 25, 2024
socialmediaman:
Minimum wage should be passed into law for every worker, not just government workers

There should be a national minim wage but every state should be left to set its minimum wage at the same or above the national
The Minimum Wage Act is clear on this. The minimun wage is for all workers not government workers alone.

Oga wetin we need na to straighten and fully empower and increase our security agencies and properly spread them in all parts of the country. If u can remember how it was under abacha, babangida. Security dey every where, and we had very strong secret police, among civilians it was such that robberies and similar vices were unheard of. In one or two situations of robbery, arson, emergency was declared and culprits were caught, and publicly executed. Yes, firearm crimes were public executions for the perpetrators till abacha death
What kind of lie is this. Abacha's era was filled with armed robbery on a daily basis. This was what even led to the creation of SARS.

obiekunie01:
they should stop using our reserve to stabilizer Naira.

this problem can be solved within 2 years if we pay attention to agriculture.

The government should disburse grants to farmers nationwide and setup committee to monitor the grant beneficiaries.

by next harvest, food will be plentiful and their will be food surplus.
Let's assume they are using the reserves to stabilize the naira, though you've been told several times that this is not so.
So within the 2 years of implementing the agriculture, the nara should be allowed to rise as rapidly as it was?

Just look at the story that person wrote to defend the man. This is what we call a strict liability offence, meaning there is no excuse! Section 1 of the Money Laundering Act 2011 as amended, states:

No person or body corporate shall, except in a transaction through a financial institution, make or accept cash payment of a sum exceeding -

(a) #5,000,000.00 or its equivalent, in the case of an individual; or
(b) #10,000,000.00 or its equivalent, in the case of a body corporate.

There is absolutely no excuse.

Racoon:
All the present systems in place have failed this nation. The only solution to our problem is a violent revolution after which the country will then reverts back to regional Federalism. So there is urgent need to over-haul the system despite the disadvantages it poses.

The best system of government for Nigeria is the UK type of system where the four nations of Wales, England north Ireland and Scotland are economically independent but are politically answerable to the seat of power in London.

The major ethnic groups shud hv been independent home nations under the control of a parliamentary voted prime Minister. Regionalism is the way forward or total disintegration. Nigeria needs unbundling.
Then you should have supported Sowore but you didn't despite knowing that the person you support would not lead you in the direction of what you now say is the only solution. Why? Are you sincere at all?

No idea. But it happens alot in America and the UK
So you are projecting America and the UK as typical Nigerian behaviour. Wrong. Nigerians are needs-based looters and will loot what they need as opposed to looting for the sake of looting. If it ever comes to a point where Nigerians start to loot, they will go straight to the big stores like Shoprite or loot from trucks etc.

Actually yes. As you know, Nigerians always think foreigners are rich. And Chinese people and Asians are always seen as an easy target because of their small size.
When has something like this ever happened?

angry... Not that im defending these Chinese people, but I've been to China and I know their tradition, Chinese people are extremely discreet, they don't like sharing anything with you. That's why they live in clusters, Chinatown. You hardly see Chinese people intermingle with commoners. And they do it to everyone including Europeans not just blacks alone. I think it's an Asian thing.
I believe why the restricted Nigerians there is fear of their safety, because from the report it started January this year and it was this January that dollars started skyrocketing and food stuffs increased astronomically. So they feared that Nigerians might want to loot their shops or do something sinister to them..
So Nigerians would leave all the mighty shops all around abuja to go and loot a small unknown chinese shop?
Politics › Re: IMF: Why We Asked Nigeria To Remove Fuel Subsidy by SmartyPants(m): 9:13am On Apr 21, 2024
nairalanda1:
Removing fuel subsidy EVEN REDUCES OUR DEPENDENCE ON FUEL IMPORTS...which kind of is not benefical to the imperalist, and promotes more and more domestic refining and jobs here...

But they can't see that.
Of course. Removing subsidies means our government frees up more money for its own use, which means we're less likely to borrow from them and in that case they lose control over us. So I really want someone who sees things differently to explain what the IMF has to gain from giving us such advice.
