You're using New York as an example compared to Lagos where this happens everyday in almost every location. The killings in New York mostly takes place in just Brooklyn but in Lagos everywhere is a hotspot.

Again, a person will have to wait in Nigeria to become wealthy to live in high brow area to be safe. Living in the so called "high brow area" is not even cheap as you state it, rent for a house in Lekki can go as high as N 800,000 for a self contain, the big question is how many Nigerians can afford it?



It is wiser to live pay check to pay check than to have all the money in Nigeria, and be killed by either a poor health system, unprofessional security operative or any of the inadequacy that dwells in Nigeria beside they will pay tax which will solve most of the problems that bothers average Nigerian.



There are Nigerians in all this countries you called but some Nigerians have their reason for preferring the West above all this other countries, some of which are;

Your comparison is awful, you compare countries based on their purchasing power and not just saying "it's cheaper to live in Nigeria". Canada/United States is more powerful than Nigeria economically, so the living standards are high. Someone from the United States/Canada who immigrated to Switzerland/Norway will also find the living standards high.

If you migrate as an Accountant to the United States/Canada you will work as an Accountant, you may need some certificates to practice there like we have ICAN in Nigeria this is same for every other profession.

Nigeria is on the list of countries with poor/worst ease of doing business and it has been on the list for a longtime and it isn't leaving it soon. Do you know why it makes that list? It's because this no system or structure put in place for business owners. Any Tom, Dick or Harry can claim to be a task force and take money from business owners, and this cycle continues as more of them will come thereby ruining the business.

3. Are you really saying setting up a company is easier in Nigeria - I live in Canada - I registered a company (online) in 25 mins and in 3 months bank called me for a line of credit (@3% interest Rate) to jump-start my business (even though I had no real plan)
4. Partly agree here .. But i would rather suggest you have a soft landing and do a deeper analysis of the target destination.
5. Partly true if the reason is only for the children - But in most cases its not only for the children
6. Are we talking about New York or Canada? Good to know that only specific neighborhoods are this way in new york and are they not so easy to avoid them?
