Rohr List Watford Star Dennis, Feyenoord Hitman Dessers, Five New Players In Provisional AFCON Squad Owngoalnigeria Dec 1, 2021 12:31 PM
As many as five new players have been handed a chance to be part of the Super Eagles squad for the 2021 Africa Cup Of Nations by embattled coach of the team Gernot Rohr, Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered.
Rohr whose future as coach of team is still uncertain have already submitted a list of 40 players to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) which has been submitted to CAF. The list is expected to be prune to 28 in three weeks time, a week before the start of the tournament which was postponed to this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
We gathered the list has five players who are yet to make their debut for the senior national team in Nigeria namely Ademola Lookman of Leicester City, Ovie Ejaria of Reading, Sadiq Umar of Almeria, goalkepper Adebayo Adeleye of Israel side Hapoel Jerusalem and Uche Destiny Obiogumu of the youth team of German side Hoffenheim.
Furthermore the duo of Cyriel Dessers of Feyenoord and Emmanuel Dennis of Watford were both rewarded for their fine form this season with a spot in the list. While there is also a return for Victor Moses. |

humility33: This Amunike is an other keshi He will achieve early success with the team and thereafter it will get into His head and start to pick every dick and harry to play for the super eagles with hoping to turn them to a star player and you know what they get from their sale to European clubs and later get sacked and then we jostle for another fo reign coach like Rohr
The problem with the NFF going for a foreign coach now is that they can't get the best rather they get a mediocre foreign coach like the sacked one with kick backs in the contract I doubt if this NFF will ever do anything for our football growth other than themselves and interests
in all honesty going for Amuneke looks economical considering the sum we will parting with to compensate Rohr but my fear is that He likes money too much and I doubt if he will be able to manage this players when issue of finance erupts and when he gets owned by NFF this is something Rohr have been able to manage well even Keshi could not manage this in Brazil 2014 and it affected our game against France only Siasia is the indigenous coach that have been able to manage this effectively because the NFF Is a problem I prefer Finidi sha, He is calm and cool headed
I prefer Finidi sha. I don't know why he can't be given the job |

minfelix: Still on Adepoju Tobi First meeting was held yesterday night between the NFF Executive Members, Technical Committee & Technical Department.
Opinions divided.
Some suggested Gernot Rohr sack before the AFCON.
The meeting considered the implication of the decision to sack him, hence divided opinions.
According to the clause in his contract he hasn't defaulted, playing 'Good Football' isn't part of the clause
Clause in his new contract
- Win the AFCON or get to the final.
- Secure the World Cup ticket in March.
To sack Rohr, NFF will have to pay him off in millions.
The meeting agreed they don't have the money to pay him off including paying some of his outstanding salaries (Which is about four months).
However, NFF are considering options apart from sacking.
The free-hand Rohr has gotten might be cut off.
Questioning, query & venting of his list might be introduced.
Rohr has worked in Nigeria since 2016 having 100% control of his team without any interference.
The discussion will continue with the Executives, looking at the best options considering their financial challenges.
Rohr has to work with the Technical Committee/Department, take suggestions & more.
Listen to advice on how to improve the team.
The NFF won't go back to the old days of forcing ideas on the coach, but they want a system that will checkmate & ensure the performance improves.
According to my source, if they can meet up with the financial implication to pay him off and get a better replacement in the next few days, his contract will be terminated.
Who will replace Rohr?
NFF doesn't have options right now, domestic coaches are not in the conversation. Please keep updating us with the conversations because I am tired of Rohr |

minfelix: According to Adepoju tobi NFF Executive Members have suggested the sack of Gernot Rohr before the AFCON in January.
The Executives will meet with the Technical Committee/Department to weigh their options.
The body language of the NFF to sack Rohr is very strong this time. adepoju tobi Better still we could employ Rohr as a chief scout for the team and get then get Joachim Loew, Emmanuel Amunike, Finidi George and Ike Shorunmu |

charlesemeka85: Ekong should be excused from the national team Even Claudio Ranieri has lost faith in him. He is blocking space for other passionate defenders. First he gave out the ball as corner kick and then was so lackadaisical to allow his opponent outsmart him in scoring that goal. |

Nigeria just needs a draw against Cape Verde to qualify for the next round. Why am I this jittery especially with the performance of our boys today? Was it not the same draw we needed to qualify against Angola at the Sanni Abacha stadium, Kano in 2006 World cup qualifier that became an eye sore when they beat us 1-0. After today's match, I have been asking myself if really we can make it.
I understand that in today's match, Rohr didn't want to be too adventurous but his conservative style killed today's game. So many back passes which we should never try with Cape Verde. |

OBSERVATIONS FROM RIVER ANGELS GAMES We really need to resurrect our women league. Nigeria is gradually declining in it dominance in women football.
Mary Ezenagu fall my hand in front of goal. She dribbles too much though she delivers the ball well but in front of goal, she was weak. She really needs to improve.
I thought we said Edwin Okon was good, what happened to him in this tourney?
CAF needs to start using VAR. River Angels were robbed in that Mamelodi Sundowns game. |

Former England youth player, Ademola Lookman is a few steps away from to officially completing his switch from England to Nigeria after completing his International Passport procedures which officially confirms his full allegiance.
The superstar has represented the Three Lions of England at different age-grade levels which include the U-19, U-20, and U-21 levels, his performances for club and at youth level have been super.
The 24-year-old who has been on the monitoring eye of the Super Eagles had also expressed his willingness to play for Nigeria. With his papers set to be completed, his dream could come through which could see him getting the nod for the World Cup and Nations cup which come up next year in Qatar and Cameroon respectively.

Dennis missed last weekend’s 1-0 home defeat to Southampton due to suspension but is now available to face the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.
” He’s fast, has good skill, always runs straight to the goal – I love these kinds of players
