TFLASHOGEE: it isn't only a Nigerian thing ma'am it every where some players have been shot and killed for their errors in their national teams how many have we kill here, it is what it is there is always that unfortunate moment in a footballers career people will remember him for It's even worse in South America. Remember that Escobar of Columbia was shot 12 times for the error he committed at USA 1994 World cup. However, that's not a reason why we should take it too far with Okoye. He is still young. Even David De Gea makes blunders for Spain and Man U, but they didn't throw him away. He is improving and I believe he will do well |

Schemerkhiz: Nigeria’s U17 girls, Flamingos will kickstart their chase for a ticket to this year’s FIFA U17 World Cup finals with a second round, first leg tie against their counterparts of the Democratic Republic of Congo in Kinshasa on Sunday.
Coach Bankole Olowookere has selected 20 players who will do the battle with the characteristically –feisty Congolese on Sunday.
In the squad are two goalkeepers, seven defenders, four midfielders and seven forwards.
The Flamingos, quarter-finalists at the FIFA World Cup finals in 2010, 2012 and 2014, have been in camp for some weeks in the Federal Capital, Abuja.
Nigeria have participated in every edition of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, bar one, since the tournament was launched in New Zealand in 2018.
The only finals the Flamingos have missed remain the 2018 finals staged in Uruguay, when they were tripped at the final hurdle by Cameroon on the away-goal rule.
The return leg is scheduled for the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Saturday, 19th March, with the winner over two legs to clash with the Egyptian U17 girls in the third round of the African qualifying campaign next month.
The Nigeria delegation to Kinshasa will depart the shores of Nigeria on Friday.

chrisooblog: Just listening to twitter space with Colin Udoh about the squad for the WcQ.
Claims some sources in the NFF told him three of the players in the squad were probably chosen without the coaches really asking for them.
Also claims "Jibola" was selected by the higher ups for the AFCON not really Equavoen. Money changing hands within NFF. Jibola is supposed to be Semi Ajayi, right? Poor Ejuke... Wahala for who no get godfather for Naija. If you no get GODFATHER then get GOD as your FATHER. |

Nigeria qualify for 2022 Women Africa Cup of Nations
Nigeria reached the finals of this year’s Women Africa Cup of Nations Championship after the Super Falcons held out bravely to defeat hosts Lady Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 in Abidjan on Wednesday evening. The scoreline meant an aggregate 3-0 win for the nine-time African champions.
The Ivorians threw everything into the return leg encounter at the Stade Robert Champroux but met a steely Nigerian defence and an inspired goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie who would not give an inch.
The game flowed back and forth for large swathes of the first half. Coach Randy Waldrum made two changes to the starting line-up from the first leg, bringing in midfielder Regina Otu and forward Francisca Ordega.
The lively Ordega thought she had given Nigeria the lead halfway into the first period, but the Nigerien referee ruled it out.
In the 34th minute, Nigerien referee Zouwaira Souley awarded a penalty to the homers after judging that Ashleigh Plumptre had tripped an Ivorian striker in the Nigerian area. Goalkeeper Nnadozie saved the shot, and the contact from the same player off the rebound went into side-netting.
The Super Falcons dug their feet into the ground in the second half, refusing to give the Lady Elephants any leeway. Plumptre, Captain Onome Ebi, Osinachi Ohale and Michelle Alozie all held their ground as the Elephants increased their onslaughts.
A minute to the end, Esther Okoronkwo, winning only her second cap for Nigeria, scored the back-breaker that confirmed a 3-0 aggregate win for the Super Falcons.
Victory and qualification for Morocco 2022 was sweet revenge over the Lady Elephants, who bumped the Falcons on the road to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The new additions like Plumptre, Okoronkwo and Onumonu have made our team solid. Hopefully, people like Rinsola AJibade, Zogg, and co will join the group. Well done Super Falcons |
