[b]Crystal Palace Eze Hints At Super Eagles Switch- I Have A Good Relationship With President Of Nigeria FA[b] Owngoalnigeria Crystal Palace midfielder Ebere Eze has refuse to rule out a switch to Nigeria in the nearest future despite initially turning down them down for England. Eze trained with the Super Eagles in 2017 during a training camp in London but two years later when he was officially called up to the senior team he declined and instead picked England. He was part of the English U21 team that failed to make it past the group stages at the recently concluded European Championship. He is however open to the idea of playing for Nigeria in the future. President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick has twice met with the dribbling ace and now Eze says his relationship with Pinnick is still intact. “ A lot happened when I made the decision to play for England and my discussion with the president of the Nigeria FA went well. It’s something you never close the door on. I have a very good relationship with Mr Pinnick”, he said when quizzed on if he could yet switch back to Nigeria. |
First Oluwashina Okeleji reported that Ovie Ejaria is still awaiting FIFA clearance to join the Super Eagles. Now Lookman. Pinnick as a FIFA executive member should hasten up all these international switches abeg. Time is going |

Rohr Calls Up Four New Players, Three From England, One From Germany For AFCON 2022 Qualifiers Owngoalnigeria Mar 5, 2021 8:51 AM The list of invited players for the Super Eagles AFCON 2022 qualifiers have been submitted to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) by coach of the team Gernot Rohr. Rohr has already decided on the players he will use to prosecute the games against Benin Republic and Lesotho respectively and it will be made public next week. Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that the list has four new players with two on standby. Three of the four players were called up from England while one plays in Germany. We gathered the four players have agreed to switch allegiance to Nigeria and one is placed on standby owing to passport issues which might see him miss the games. Nigeria need a point from two games to seal a spot at next year Africa Cup of Nations and Rohr is leaving nothing to chance in his quest to lead the team to the tournament in Cameroon. |
fabyom:Aina is a special player. He should have been a midfielder. How I wish Lookman and Tosin would join him in the SE |
What's holding our Super Eagles and Golden Eaglets handlers from releasing their squad list for AFCON qualifiers on 27th and 30th March and U17 AFCON from the 14th? The Benin Republic and U17 Tanzanian teams have released theirs. |
chucs:Southgate and the FA really at work here. Hope Lookman does not also change his mind? |

Fulham Star Could Snub Super Eagles For England Like Saka, Abraham and Agbonlahor OlamideSundayOyetunji Feb 19, 2021 2:33 PM Fulham football club fast-rising defender Tosin Adarabioyo is reportedly reconsidering his international future as a player of dual nationalities. The 23-year-old Manchester City product has advanced in his ambition to represent Nigeria but situation could change due to active playing status with Fulham. According to owngoalnigeria.com, Tosin Adarabioyo is undecided about playing for either Three Lions of England and the Super Eagles of Nigeria. For the fact that he has played for England from U-16 to U-19 didn't represent them in competitive games which mean the process of switching allegiance won't be too rigorous. "He is at the moment in a crucial state of his career where he is getting games in the English Premier League. The focus should be on helping Fulham for now". His representative told owngoalnigeria.com. "Tosin has Nigeria at heart but it’s one thing at a time and for now it’s Fulham and that’s why he hasn’t responded to the request to switch to Nigeria yet. It’s one step at a time." Tosin Adarabioyo is one of the most regular player for the struggling Fulham in the English Premier League with Scott Parker rating him so highly, however, he repeatedly turned down Nigeria in favour of playing for England. Few years ago, the player who can operate as right back or centre back posted some pictures on social media to celebrate Nigeria independence anniversary but many cannot forget how the likes of Gabriel Agbonlahor, Tammy Abraham of Chelsea and Bukayo Saka of Arsenal all settled for their country of birth instead of Nigeria. |

Rohr to Drop Super Eagles Captain, Chukwueze and Two Others From Squad OlamideSundayOyetunji Feb 18, 2021 4:51 PM The Nigerian male national team will be back in serious footballing business in the coming weeks as the first FIFA international break will see professional players starring for their various countries. Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr will execute his first and second assignment when Nigeria will entertain Benin Republic and Lesotho in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. After the disappointing back to back draw with Sierra Leone in November, the Franco-German manager is expected to change the outlook of the team. The dramatic and unexpected 4-4 draw with the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin City led to outcry and condemnation from all quarters and the gaffer is ready to make some changes. Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa will become the first player to be dropped from the team due to his unemployment state as Gernot Rohr was expecting him to make a move during the January transfer window. According to the list leaked by owngoalnigeria.com, Samuel Chukwueze was also not penned by the manager due to his inactivity at club level since January courtesy of injury not forgetting Dennis Bonaventure who just completed a loan move to FC Köln from Club Brugge. Lastly, Heartland goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has also been excluded from the team that will have Maduka Okoye, Daniel Akpeyi and the returning Francis Uzoho but another goalkeeper from the Nigeria Professional Football League will be given an opportunity. |
