pussiboner: No post is been shifted, it is in relation to your below statement. So what is the relationship between not keeping money in naira for long and what you wrote? Not interested in going back and forth sir. Let's move on |

pussiboner: You clearly don't understand what inflation means.
Are you saying if you are earning naira, you would be converting all your cash to fx to beat inflation? No, investing them. fx is not the only way to beat inflation. investment is broad. I want to understand what you know about inflation and money (naira) being a store of value. |

pussiboner: I did my research 6 years ago. I can help you a little bit more if you have my time.
In 2015... You had 30 million naira
Scenario A... Pay a rent of 1.5 million yearly for 20 years
Scenario B... Build a personal house.
Which would you do? Is this about paying rent vs buying/building a house? You are shifting to another goal post entirely. |

pussiboner: What if you earn in naira... What happens? naira is one of the worst currency to keep as a store of value. Inflation will send you to the village. What 1000 can buy 2 months ago has raptured. |

pussiboner: Having a roof over your head in this context means owning your own home... This is an investment as you would not be oblidged to pay your landlord yearly. You can do a little research to understand the difference, cant stress it sir. |

EgunMogaji2: Except if you’re smart and build a fourplex, live in one and rent out three. Give it to a management company and then you get to bitch at the owner with the other tenants Yes chief, if you build to collect rent or even sell, you've invested and an investor in real estate. That is why I said except you are building for rentage, lease or outright sale, having a personal roof over your head can't be an investment in its true sense. |

diordaves: In Nigeria because we mostly don't do mortgage, we build cash from savings, a roof over your head is an investment. You stop paying rent with the house appreciating in value if maintained periodically. You may not be getting immediate cash. Think about it as a pension fund.
If you are paying funds into a pension fund in lieu of when you retire, is that an investment as you are not earning immediately from it ? Of course it is an investment. That you stopped paying rent does not make it an investment sir. Is owing a private car for no better example an investment afterall it will stop you from paying to take public bus? If you understand deeply the meaning of investment, you'd know that what you buy/build/own for personal consumption can't be said to be an investment except you plan to sell it from the get go. That it looks like an 'investment' does not make it an investment. |

pussiboner: You are correct Sir.
Having a roof over your head or investments in real estate is one of the best forms of investments that lasts a lifetime. Having a roof over your head is actually not an investment because you are not going to be earning from such. And yes, investing your fund into real estate is an investment and way better than banking that same fund. |

EgunMogaji2: Very dangerous Amigo.
In my opinion, extra money in bank is near worthless investment wise. Whoever keeps Naira in the bank for long is not wise financially. |

A society that condoles making money whicheverway should not expect angels as rulers.
From a people come leaders.
I repeat again, no good people get ruled by bad leaders

What if the western world are the ones distabilizing African countries they believe may likely rise to stop their control?
What if they are the ones sponsoring all these insecurities so as to be called in for assistance thereby getting more grip of the continent?
I am just thinking aloud. |

People want respect for the same police they disrespect daily?
Irony of life.
The same way you degrade your country is the same way your country will remain degraded.
Or you think your police or country will become better by your degradation?
People now go about fighting what they should be protecting.
When these people are done with the security forces, they will come for you, your wives, your daughters, your mothers, your grandmothers and anyone who can't defend themselves and there would be nothing that will protect you/them by then.
So keep on supporting those destroying the institutions that are there to uphold decency, rule of law and law and order no matter how bad we think they are.
Without them, you are as exposed as a house without a roof. |
