Yes, very thin attacking line. The pressure on the backline go dey massive o for us. edi287: Ebuehi would make a good wing back. I hope Rohr gives him a run out today. Our attacking options look underwhelming tbh. Mikel should've been tried as part of the midfield 2 while someone like Onyekuru takes his place upfront (assuming it's a 3-4-3). Edit: from the other lineup posted, it's going to be a 2 man forward line. |

3-5-2 something |

Wondering too, in a lone man forward line, I expected someone faster or at least more physical to be mount that position. Anyways it's just a friendly and Rohr might change it to a 2-3 man forward along the line. forgiveness: Interesting. But the question is why must he start Kelechi if he already knows his ability? If Kayode is played for only 20 minutes then I know there's an hidden agenda against him because I do not why he invited him in the first and not play him. Edit:. Seems it's going to be a 2 man forward (iwobi iheanacho) |

Apart from football, I think there is something he does in the camp that makes them always call him. Trying to understand why a person like him who's has been relegated to the U21 team still makes the NT. He must be very valuable off field to the SE MetalJigsaw: hmm I don't think Rohr will drop Musa. |

Sorry sir, didn't get you.. Mujtahida: Is this not what we are saying? So how does having FB in our team affect carrying out measures like this if we are serious and honest. How can such a vast field begging for development be ignored for the national team that plays at most four times in non tournament years and 10 times in tournament years? |

Very low attacking bite in this line up. Only 2 "attackers" with one goal minded DM in view. I believe Rohr will likely change the formation later in the match when things look clearer. Musa should play in this match. Sunnypa11: Line up |

Same formation Russia used against Argentina few days ago Joebie: The latest from OGN: we will play with a 5-3-2 formation which translates to 3-5-2 when in attack. I think it is a cautious formation.
okay, let me take it paragraph by paragraph. Balogun has always played as the LCB. And he and Aina have been assisting themselves there. I think nothing has changed. This is continuity for mastery sake. Awaziem is right-footed, so starting him there is a less risky path.
Ola Aina is even more comfortable as a Wing-Back, than a dedicated Full-back. I know both terms are used interchangeably these days, but you know what I mean. The formation will give him room to roam forward, and that's his strength. We are already developing him well for the LB role, and we don't have to wait for his club to do that first. Not saying I don't want to see him play as RB, but i've already made my position known on that. Now as regards Shehu, let's think Victor Moses here for a better comparison. Moses is a better crosser, granted. Moses is better going forward, also granted. But Moses don't go forward TOO often when playing for Chelsea, and that's because they have dedicated wingers. With this formation, we are playing quite narrow at the front, and that means we will not be depending much on wing play. This could also be a test for Shehu to do more forward with this formation, something he didn't have to do often in our previous formation. I have to check on his pace, as I'm not sure he really lacks that. You could have a point though.
on your last paragraph, I disagree on what you said about Ndidi. Ndidi started out as a CB. Someone even mentioned that he will be a good CB and I had to remind him that he actually started there. Ndidi is as versatile as Mikel, but inferior in passing and ball holding. Granted, Ogu is slow, but like I said this is a very cautious formation as our defense will have lots of cover. Don't forget that Ogu is quite good defensively, so what we have may be Ndidi, and Ogu sitting back especially when we are not in possession. |

Talking about home grown talents, how many of us know that we now have a national youth league for football?
All 20 NPFL clubs have an U15 youth wing.
All the players must still be in primary/secondary school and their primary School report cards are being used to determine their ages.
All are still active in school and the league only occur during the long term break.
Started late last year/early this year and we have experts from LALIGA helping with the management etc.
This to me is one of the best ways to build solid foundation for all our male football teams.
With time , it will shift to the female teams too then to other sports.
Slow start but a good start. |

Yes, we don't have any midifielder in the current set up that can do what he does. Mujtahida: Wayodude went deep. Ogu is always looking to score. In the clip I saw that he fired the exact same long left foot curler that scored against Algeria, against South Africa and had two more goal bound long range shots. |

What's wrong with you people? I guess most of you are Christians yet condemning and looking down on other people based on their religious choices.
If you can date and sleep with any man or woman you like as a Muslim or Christian, why cant a traditional follower do same?

Better than his likes in that position is what I said when it comes to attack, didn't say "great", you're the one using that to pull bias against him. True and the data says he's almost as good as Onazi, better than Agu. tbaba1234: I have not downgraded Ogu, oga.. My assessment is based on the several games that have seen him play.
I have said that if you make conclusions that he is a great scorer from 4 starts, you can also say, he is a rash tackler from those same stats.
Both are untrue and unfair.
However, there is enough data on his game to show how he plays. |

Maybe because we haven't faced a more tactical and decisive team? Icon4s: But has this team ever conceded within 20mins?
In fact in all the qualifier games, we scored first. We were never behind in any encounter.
With the exception of the last 2 games we were usually 1 or 2 goals up at half time. In our first 3 games we led 2-0 at half time.
Your observation is quite valid but I don't see it as much of a problem. It has even worked in our favor a couple of times as we hit our opponents on the counter when they were pressing. |

Na only him dey play with high velocity? What about Shehu? Iwobi? They don't play with high velocity? Keep confusing the whole issue with "big big" grammar. Anyways we go see who the coach will use as his point man come 2018 world cup. No more no less. TheGoodJoe: Everyone had problem with the pitch. The reason why he fell repeatedly is because Nacho plays with a high velocity especially when he makes runs. In the second half, he fell less because he was getting used to the pitch.
That is not where you use to judge the ability of a player to press. As I said, this is not even a topic for debate. |

The pitch was bad for only him? He doesn't have the stamina to press like the person you compared him with. that's fact! TheGoodJoe: Iheanacho fell because the pitch was bad, not because he could not press. This one is not even up for debate. There is no hype in stating a fact. |
