What is the image of man?
Man is made up of the physical body made from the image and likeness of the earth. When man expires this body is buried and it dissolves into the earth
Man is also made up of God's spirit or breath. God is omnipotent, omnipresent and Omniscient. So the spirit of man has those attributes, (long before the Bible was written, an Egyptian parable Proverbs states "The kingdom of God is within, and whoever shall know himself, shall find it).
So that is what man is, and for good measure, the US in Genesis refers to God our creator and father and the earth our mother.
When a man expires, the spirit returns to God. It is God and is pure, and does not need to be saved from anything.
So what ever you envisiage the image and likeness of God to be is what is in man..

It is the kings of the earth that are talking. Israel was suffering as a result of their iniquities and oppression. Read 10-the end.
The servant will live if he makes restitution, God will prolong his days ....
It is not about the J-man. You can't take a text out of its context. That is not how to read a story. You won't learn anything like that.
Put everything in context, then read it. Start from chapter 52. That is where the narrative started from.

For the last time TenQ I have explained this Isaiah 53. It is about a suffering servant. Isaiah already told you who the servant is. See Isaiah 45:1-7. The suffering servant is Israel.

First question to ask your self is
Who is talking in those passages ?
You answer will make it clearer for you. Hint: it is not Isaiah.

The body is same image and likeness as the ground(that is earth) and the spirit is same image and likeness as God...

Do you understand?
After man "dies" the body is buried and it becomes one with the earth. And the spirit returns to God and becomes one with it. If it has not completed his mission, it can be sent again....
