5w40 edge recommended for 2010 range rover sport? That is good to know. Are you the one recommending it or it is Castrol?

Ï will be if you can explain in detail the specific vehicles these oils are made for and the approvals of the manufacturers. We need to safeguard our naija used cars for other people. I met a guy today with smartphone proudly carrying two gallons of Mobil xhp to service his 2009 Camry I asked him to tell me the car that would proudly use the oil and he said Camry 09. I told him to go and check the oil number on his car and he was shocked because he had never thought about it. He came back with the cover showing 5w20 or 0w20 and with thick sludge on the cover. He later told me that his mechanic advised him to get G life. The ignorance is high and we need to tell the motorist to use the right oil for their cars. If I want to service my 2010 Range Rover Sport, which oil from your stock is recommended for the car by the manufacturer? I want to learn from your store

Good to know. Is your type of Castrol the same thing as Eterna oil? Can you post the type of the oil so that we may scrutinize it

From what you posted, you are supposed to be using 5w20 or 0w20, yet you are using mobil 20w50 api SL. Even the chart says that the recommended oil is suitable for all weather. So for what reason are you using the oil that is not suitable for your car? Go and buy Castrol 5w20 with the inscription for Toyota, Nissan and Honda written on the gallon. Please it is not the same as the one sold by Eterna oil ô.

Pls I have read thru all the posts here on required engine oil for cars...and I must say I have just been confused!.....My car is a 2005 Toyota Camry Big daddy,bought last year from the US with 125,00 miles on it I started servicing using Mobil 1,5w-30 American specs... I will recommend to every Toyota owner to use Motul energy 5w30 API SL. That is what Toyota recommends for your car. Infinity tyres in Apapa are selling this oil.Toyota never recommends petrol and diesel oils for their cars. All Toyota cars have the starburst logo of gasoline engines, energy conserving. Total, Mobil and Oando and others are petrol and diesel oils .I have been experiencing the shortage of oil with Mobil 1 API SN on cars that requires API SL and even though they said API SN is backward compatible, Mobil especially shorts oil. Using Castrol Edge in Black or gold gallon is different. The oil remains and no shortage even after 6 months. So I will advise that you use any API SL engine oil that is 5w30 according to the requirement and specifications of the manufacturer. Newer models uses API SN but if your car requires Api SL, use API SL variant of the engine oil.

I used this popular Holts transmission fluid by a local manufacturer LB Industries on my Corolla 2005 model around April 2019, though no glitch has been recorded at all but could this have effect on my transmission in future or I should just drainage it out immediately and use Toyota T-IV.

Moreso, I uses the car for E- hailing business.

As discussed, you have to drain and use the right atf

Motul is what I told you that they sell. And it is ideal for your car. 5w30 Api SL. I have not bought any oil online

Stop being ignorant, Lexus actually never recommended 5W40 for their ES sedans. What was recommended was 5W30 fully synthetic oil.

That oil you're pouring isn't from Lexus USA or Lexus Japan. Its some random stuff you're pouring into your engine. Good luck!

And one more thing, PETROL and GASOLINE are actually the SAME thing. Its just that Americans call it gasoline and the British call it petrol.

As you can see, it is Api Sm and not SM-CF. It is gasoline or petrol engine. But the market that uses this particular oil is from Asia and Middle East. Your Lexus is an American market spec and on your oil cap, the es330 requires 5w30 api SL. I can give you the number of the sellers.

But its not readily available where i stay, so i am just looking for any other 5w40 grade oil that i can use on my Es330. Apart from the total 5w40 does anyone recommend anything else?

Does Lexus recommend 5w40? It is 5w30 Api sl. Get Motul from infinity tyres in Apapa. If you check your engine oil cover, you will see the star burst sign of gasoline engine oil only. Total q9000 is petrol and diesel spec.

You're holding me by the balls. Anyway it is synthetic oil, Api Sn-cf, suitable for BMW ll04 and older Peugeot cars.Please note that Toyota is not recommended to use Q9000. Peugeot refused to recommend it for their 2011 new generation cars . But Total now has 5w30 ineos which is also SN-CF but it is suitable for Peugeot cars and Renault too. But the good news is that Total are introducing into the market two life changing oils. The higher version of the 5w30 and 0w20 Q9000 future. Subtle pressure is making them to improve on their oil. Before the end of the year, these two oils will be sold locally thus saving cars that requires 0w20 to heave a sigh of relief.

If your car is a high mileage one, which translates to gradual engine wear and tear already, I bet you, using that oil, might cause seal leaks(oil shortages). But if you insists using the synthetic, buy a high mileage synthetic oil. I think Mobil1 has them.

What I was expecting from this post was that it uses this oil and it works with that fuel. If they are not available, then it is not for Nigeria. The car recommends Total Activa and it is also Turbo powered which the Op has cleverly omitted. This post is not for the Nigerian market. There's no fuel and engine oil for the car. It is time we settle for Nigerian spec.

Nothing like that exist. Mobil xhp is 20w50 while Mobil 1 green label is 5w30. You can switch easily but beware of the state of the car and the model of the car
