The right rendering of the above verse from the Greek translation should actually begin with “You”. That is…

What that means is that unlike what we may have erroneously believed, Jesus wasn’t actually giving the people of his day a command to “search the scriptures” like the King James translation puts it in that verse. He was rather telling them what they were already doing - albeit wrongly.

The reason is because the Eternal Life they seek after has been embodied in a Man, God’s own Son - Jesus.

Whosoever believes in Him, not the Bible, shall have everlasting life. Again,

“.….Thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 17:2-3 KJV

This is why the scriptures were given in the first place - to tell men about Him. Everything in the Bible points to Him.

He is not one of those things you come across in the Bible, He is the Mega Deal of the Book. Referring to Him as one of the subjects of the Bible is an insult to His person, He is its Message.

The apostle Philip did not mince words about His personality when describing Him to his brother Nathanael.

“Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, we have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” John 1:45 KJV

He is The Word in the word (John 1:1, 14-15), the express Image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15, Hebrews 1:3), the full expression of all that God was, is and will ever be. He (not just the Bible), is God’s explanation of Himself (His Character, actions and words) to mankind.

In knowing Him, we have known and gotten all that God wants us to know and have. This is why we are instructed to focus our whole attention on Him.

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith….” Hebrews 12:2 KJV

He is the central message of all the Books of the Bible. Let us make a decision to keep our eyes on Him and nothing else.

He is all that God wants us to know, not Moses, not Elijah and certainly not Abraham. Everyone of those men were relevant enough to have their names engraved in the scriptures because of the Message of Christ which they believed and conveyed to their generations. Aside from that, there is nothing so special about them.

In your study of the scriptures, in your search for eternal life, in your understanding of God, make a decision to see no man but Jesus. For everything in the Bible is about Him.

Again I say, it is all about Him and nothing else! Go tell someone.

In the post, you forgot to show the old testament description of Jesus. In John chapter 1, it was stated that he was in the beginning with God. In gen 1, we read that the Spirit of God was hovering around the earth. John says he made all things and the Genesis says God said let there be light and God created the light. In chapter 24, the Bible says that Moses and the elders saw the God of Israel and ate with him and Jesus is telling us that no one has seen the Lord at any time. Who visited Abraham on his way to Sodom? It was Jesus. Read again the conversation, shall I hide from Abraham.... Daniel saw a vision of the son of man being brought before the ancient of days and all power and dominion was given to him. 1 cor chapter 15 says that the lordship of Jesus over the heavens and the earth, only one being is exempted, God under whom Jesus will be subject to, that God will be all in all. In John, we read that he has blinded our ears and eyes that we may not see and hear and be converted and saved and this was according to the vision of Isaiah when he saw Jesus sitting in the temple and seeking for who to send. I used to buy tyres for people even those in port Harcourt. If he knows what he is selling, then he should take all questions as coming from a would be customer. All those people asking for tyres did not call him nor visited the office, they asked online and he replied online too. It is not for speed but for your safety. Go through all the car manuals and check out the tyre specifications for the cars. Every car sold by elizade motors comes with a V tyre, even a corolla and check out the tyres on Toyota from the US and Dubai, those are H tyres . You will now ask, why should Corolla be equipped with V tyre when a Lexus 460 GX from Dubai is equipped with H speed rating? Years ago, I went round our tyre dealers outlets, Milan, Bridge stone ,Michelin, hankook, Infinity and Dunlop and what I found out is not for public information but I try in my little ways to educate myself and others on what to buy. This tyre seller is selling substandard tyres and he is targeting the ignorance of the motorist to make money. The funny thing is that he has not responded by displaying the specifics on the tyre he sells. Did he not claim to be selling pirelli and Michelin? I don't have to waste my precious time going there, let him show on the forum the type of tyres that is found on his shelf. I once advised someone who was preparing to bring his family from Sokoto to Lagos and he bought brand new tyres from a popular tyre company and 3 tyres exploded on the road and the last one made the car to somersault and the man's niece died. Do you want to know the type of tyres on the SUV that the former MInister was riding on before he crashed.? I am into vehicle transportation and I always check the tyres on the SUVs and advise the sellers to change the tyres. One of the dealers called his US supplier and there and then he was told that the tyres were to be changed to the right speed rating. I have inspected the tyres of many ministers of works and the National Assembly and so when I see characters selling tyres to destroy their fellow citizens, I will talk for my own sanity. In that place you call your office, if I were to come with SON, the place will be shut down.

Flush the engine and use the right oil. Since the car came into the country, you have been using the wrong engine oil. Your car uses 5w20 or 0w20 with resource conserving. I will advise you to call the addinol dealer and get 5w20 from him. It is one of the best in the market.

I get your point about temp and speed rating but I tell you, I do not know any b rated tyre that can't sustain 120km/hr for 10 hours. The h speed rating commonly found on Chinese tyres can also withstand our national speed limit for hours.

If I tell him I drive a 2023 Mercedes without telling him if it's a tow truck or an A class, he won't be able to advise on the size or type of tyre I should use.
Buyers will look at their existing tyre and buy same.
As long as he doesn't sell tyres that are too old to be used (subjective, personally I wouldn't use any tyre more than 6 years old), or re-branded old tyres, then I believe (my opinion here) he is not doing any bad.

You are right. He has tyres to sell and it is his business, but the business has negative multiple effects if it is not tamed. Chinese has H tyres but they are not for Mercedes or BMW. The tyres he displayed are not temperature A tyres or speed rating of H or V. A standard tyre for Nigeria should be traction A, temperature A and the speed rating will automatically fit the car. Accident victims are suffering a lot. We don't have a policy to help them overcome their problems associated with car accidents and to encourage someone to add to the woes of Nigerians by selling a product he knows is not suitable for the cars is aiding and abetting. The Trade fair is on now and I will advise motorists to go there and buy tyres. You can ask questions on the tyres from the dealers. Michelin has improved. Go to their stand and you will see high quality summer tyres being sold to the public. This is a far cry from the tyres that they used to sell 10 years ago.

I can't force anybody... but what I will tell you is that I lost faith long time on Nigerian goods been sold on the market.... I import all my stuff from the USA ,and if the customers want to buy from me ,it is up to them .. And if they want to continue using 20w50 or any Nigerian made engine oil . They should continue doing so , they are in return helping the ladipo guys bring in more engine .. If people are taking care of their engine, the engine seller in the market will not see engine to sell.. So engine seller need market to survive o ...but for me personally I will rather import all my stuff ,than risk buying fake or substandard product from the market...

Hmmm. A lot of us are not aware of the dangers of the 20w50. People are still producing the oil and so the problem continues. We will get there when the mechanics are determined to make our cars to last longer on the road. But 90 percent of the blame goes to the owners of the cars. They buy any oil just to save costs and in the end blame their smartness on us. How can someone allow his mechanic to use xhp 20w50 on his 2013 range rover evoque? This is the sad reality that we are facing and we need to do something about the ignorance among the people who patronize the oil.

What is the verdict on our Nigerian made engine oils? Should we boycott the oil for 3 months so that they will adjust and sell quality engine oil to us that are suitable for the cars that we drive. If we are importing 2.5t Naira of used cars, the engine oil for these vehicles should be available. Thanks Dru for your efforts and also Radautoworks. Without you guys, and other guys like autotrader2 and Gazzzuz, there would have been no car that will last 2 years in the country. Total and Oando should be commended too for migrating from 5w40 to 5w30 but we encourage them to give us 5w30 gasoline engine oil only and 5w20 and 0w20. It is what the industry needs and not what they want us to use. The era of ignoring the motorist is over.

Hmmm. They thought it was that simple. I have been begged to come and return the car to status quo and I begged them that I can't fit. The bottom line is that they destroyed the freelander with poor quality oil like xhp and when the car overheats, they look for an easy way out. Freelander uses semi synthetic oil to cool down the temperature of the car. A lot of us mechanics are still in love with Mobil xhp and will use it on any car. Our new Toyota cars that are serviced with these mineral oils are dead. They look like overused vehicles and meanwhile, cars that are of the same age elsewhere can pass for brand new. Whenever anyone converts to Toyota engine, to restore it back to factory default is not possible

Every tire has a temperature rating. The type of environment that the tyres is conducive for. In Switzerland, we use two sets of tyres for every car. One is winter and the other is summer. Right now the police are on the road checking tyres because motorists are supposed to remove their summer tyres and fit the winter tyres. If you use winter tyres in summer, you will be penalized. When you use summer tyres in winter, the risk of accidents is 99.9 percent. In the USA, they have a system where you can use just one tyre for the whole year and they call it all season tyres. All season tyres comes in temperatures A, B, C. And most of the tyres are speed restricted. With a temperature A, tyre, it can withstand all weather in Nigeria as it is able to withstand heat above 25 degrees and it is not speed restricted Temperature B tyres are found in most cars that are speed restricted and will not be able to perform well in summer. It is 80 percent winter prone than summer. It is dangerous and it is very popular on our vehicles.

Your car requires 0w30 or 0w40 for all weather protection. The 0w30 used to be available at Total outlets but I can't say for now. You can also use Mobil 1 0w40
