There is the popular Toyota T1V transmission fluid in the market. It comes in 1 litre and a gallon. No Nigerian oil marketer produces atf oil for modern vehicles. They are 10 years behind, that is those that are forward thinking like Oando and MRS which produces Dexron 111. Mobil comes next with Dexron 11e. All these fluids are suitable for cars that were produced before 2003/4. Total, Conoil, Forte are producing fluid meant for vehicles made before 1996 and yet unsuspecting motorists, trusting these brands continue to use these fluids. Our Auto Magazine, AUTOWATCH is doing a detailed report on these fluids and the report will be available in our next edition in August. It is an eye opener and designed to complement this thread. Could you believe, he advised that I change the complete 4sets at a charge of N30,000!!! Obviously, this is not cheap. Would you have an idea where I can get this left abs sensor asap?

Hahaha. Abs sensor is not more than 7000 maximum and since it is only the left, buy the left or on a second thought, let him clean the old one if it is still there and also clean the hole where the abs sensor goes into.

Your wheel speed sensor should be checked. Yes, it has an impact on the transmission. There is check engine light now on your dashboard.
Scan your car and then you check the front left abs sensor/ speed sensor and replace it. It is very cheap to buy.

5W30 engine oil is synthetic oil sold by Oando, Total and AP. Volvo transmissions works with our Pureguard global synthetic transmission fluid.

Happy New Year. Murano requires 5W40 synthetic oil. Oando, Total and AP synthetic oils are very suitable. For transmission, use NS2 cvt fluid and use Oando Dexron 111 for power steering fluid.

Change the plugs and engine oil first before you get any meaningful result.

Your car is a 2000 model and you have to use this NGK plug no NGKPFR6G-11. Any other number will not work. Seahorse atf is destroying gear boxes and you re using the engine oil. Try and use Oando SM or Total Q7000 and make sure they flush the engine. Then let me know the result.

What grade of oil are you using? Let them use carburetor cleaner first before any action. The plugs also are important too. Hope you are not using tokunbo plugs or those N200 per plug. let me also know the year of the car and your location.

VICTOFX: Weldon bro, please my premera2.0 electric carburetor is consuming fuel, and killing my plugs, and the car is getting sluggish, local meckos are insisting i change to the manual carburetor, claiming the electric carburetor is not serviceable, but i am being skeptical about that, please whats your take on this, and what do you suggest i do?

Yes, TOTAL Q9000 is fully synthetic. You can use it on your Corolla

The engine oil for both Corollas is 5W20. Use synthetic oil. It last longer and cheaper too because you will only service the cars twice in a year.
The Atf for both cars is Type T-1V. Pureguard works well with both cars

Honda Pilot requires you to use 5W30 synthetic oil. Oando syn, Total Q9000 and AP syn is ideal. Mobil 1 would have been on the list but it is 0W40 and because Honda requires 5W30, use the 3 brands listed above, though Oando syn is still not sold to the general public, but it is the best right now in the country.

meetdopi: About a year ago when my mechanic changed the gear oil on my '02 Toyota sienna, I have been having serious issues with it. The car drags and jerks when changing gears, now it has become worse. What can I do as I still love the vehicle? Would I need to change the gear as he suggested after a diagnostic review was conducted? Or I should just sell it off?

Tribute works with Mercon transmission fluid. You can buy a used catalyst converter in the parts market. Try Motocraft atf. Buy from Ford Briscoe or use Oando Dexron 111 which is also Mercon compliant

Oando, AP and TOTAL sell synthetic oil. But Oando syn is not sold publicly but if you are in abuja, you can get it at the outlet by National hospital. if not try Total Q9000. From my analysis, Oando syn is d best at the moment.

Dexron 11e on a Volkswagen? Please drain it fast and we can send you the pureguard. Even Dexron 111 is not suitable. The Mobil 1 is good but I hope the engine chamber has no sludge before using the oil?
