A: Before this used to be a big deal but now. Even listing of coins doesn't add much unless it's IEO coins which the listing is announced

You are not less privileged, you have the opportunity to learn btc trading so utilise it.
To answer your question it was through Bitcoin mining, but you may not want to do that now cause I haven't used the script yet and the normal mining is not that profitable any more considering the fact it is capital intensive to setup.
