sokarsenal: . OUR PEOPLE like to talk, complain, shout and get angry, make a move to back the talk na wahala.........if you want to camp.just simply wait for november or march next year.......I have a female friend who is about 80% close to doing that.....she is following up her love for 3-weeks camping with ACTIONS, now that is someone worthy of my respect
I guess d art of whining, complaining and self pity without being able to match it up wit actions is in the nigerian gene..... If that lady that is willing to differ her service just because of camp is successful then i would also respect her .
To me if anythin at all the 5yrs spent in school is enough camping experience for me,i see the camp as no bigdeal as much as NYSC would readily pay us our rightful entitlements and give us the priviledge of redployment, thats all i ask for,as for me and my crew going to the same state plateau for stream2 we all have come to terms with the reality on ground and we planned to make use of that 8dayz of non-regimented and unrestricted liberty to replicate whatever supposed fun anybody would want to have within that 3weeks,simple as that.

sokarsenal: GOOD NEWS.......GOOD NEWS........GOODNEWS.....to those of us saying 'what is NYSC without camp'.....I have good news....I have found a WAY...trust me you would LOVE this......Just hide your call-up letter, go to court, swear an affidavit of stolen call up letter.....go to ur school and report the 'theft' of your call up letter......according to NYSC you are guaranteed the next batch......batch C is some 10 weeks from now.....I'm sure the ebola crisis would have been solved by then.......simple formula....let's not just talk, show action and thank me letter...................................
MAKE OF THIS WHAT YOU WILL
GBAM!!! U are rite on point bro.... To me if any one refuses 2come to terms with the present situation on ground then your suggestion is just a inch more than perfect for them to make use of...shikena yowa...... Y cry and whine over spilled milk,we have been made to endure worst policies in 9ja and we are still alive n surviving bcoz dere is lil or nothin we can do about it. Yoruba's would say ''if a child doesnt have d sword of vegeance in his full grasp and possession, there is no need for such a child to ask about the cause of his fathers death or murder,if you not in power to influence decisions presently then make do with whatever decisions passed presently, and as for those wanting to petition the DG and NYSC please for the love of christ let d lying dog sleep, coz there aint no need of going after a wild goose chase!!! News update about NYSC stream ii batch B. The Stream II State Coordinators had a meeting with the
Director General Brig. Gen. J. B. Olawumi yesterday 18th
August, 2014 at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters,
Abuja.
At the end of the meeting which lasted for about 2 hours and
ended at about 5:58 PM, management was able to reach a
consensus that >>
There will be no conventional camp for Stream II Corps
Members ie (No Lectures, Drills, Parade, etc) only registration
which should not exceed 2days at most and they leave the
camp. They will come back in 2weeks for their posting letter.
This is very to curb all chances of prospective corps members
contacting the deadly Ebola Virus while trying to serve their
father land.
Relocation forms will also be filled alongside registration for
those interested & successful Corps members gets their
relocation letters immediately & report to the State of
relocation in 2weeks.
Corps Members will open accounts as usual & receive all
their allowances ie bicycle, transport & 1st monthly allowance
usually given on camp.
The Stream II date starts Sept 1st and ends Sept 8th (8days
only). So Stream II NYSC staff & other camp officials are
spending just 8days on camp.
NOTE: If a Corps member registers and is issued kits & gets
all allowances, he/she leaves the camp till 2wks time to
collect posting letter.
So in a nutshell no Orientation Course for Stream II Corps
members.
Once fine-tuning is completed, updates will be posted on our
website before the week runs out. The DG NYSC will grant
some press interview on the matter soonest.
Above is the summary of the update on Stream II.
You will be informed of other developments on it
subsequently.
From a reliable inside NYSC source!!

smh pitifully bcoz of ur chronic ignorance..... I doubt if u are a graduate coz if u are one,u shld knw beta dat all yoruba kings are addressed as ''OBA's'' ,OBA is actually a borrowed word by d bini pple 4rm d yoruba race,go bak 2ur history books and school urslf properly abt basic histry.

lorddaywalker: I think for dos of us willing to redeploy,we av to go as early as we can cox d duration schedule for our geo-zone registration won't b enof to do all dat.can we process our redeployment within 1day? I guess not
Exactly wat i am advocating for @ my guy
NYSCRe: NYSC 2014 Batch B House by Sowl(m): 7:46am On Aug 20, 2014
Suggestion of going on the exact day of registration is easier for those that dont have to endure an 18hr or 15 hr journey to camp and same duration back, because for anybody going to nasarawa, minna or plateau from lagos knows its no small task and stress doing so by road for those of us coming that far.... Different strokes for different folks tho..... But would advise those that are willing to redploy to make plans beforehand for where they would likely be accomodated as plan B should incase nysc officials and soldiers wouldnt allow you to stay in camp ,so as to monitor there redployment process and know the due process that would be needed to get a better posting than the volatile states that we where initially posted.

EmpressaDelRei: Taaaaaah! Igbos are not in any form of competition with any tribe or race, they are simply who they are! Speak for yourself. By the way, "Lagos" was once the nation's capital, hence the mass influx of various tribes and nationalities therein. It has nothing to do with your hospitality, all these supposed visitors pay the bills where they live and contribute majorly to the growth and development of Lagos as a state and the nation's commercial capital. No tribe or race is bigger/greater/smarter or finer than the other. God made all men. I know there are a few bad eggs in every tribe, but the many good people shouldn't be labelled bad alongside the evil ones. BTW, Igbos are hardworking/enterprising.
Ever since the capital was shifted from lagos to abuja what then as kept the other tribes from switching geographical if they didnt find there yoruba landlords accomodating ,its been over 24yrs since lagos was last a capital of nigeria so dont tell me lagos has d highest population of other tribes because it was once a former capital, now that abuja is the seat of power then d mass influx theory postulated by you should favor abuja to the detriment of lagos.......NB and caveat emptor it wld b a grave and unforgivable sin against d accomodating and hospitable feature of the yoruba race if any one of the other races tries to label lagos as a ''no man's land'' it is utterly sacrilageous and dastardly of them to think so. Non of the other races would never try that with the hausas in kano or kaduna even as they are also the commercial hub of the north with so many other tribes settling in these cities!!
We yoruba's due to our nature have risen above the art of envy of other tribes and look to embrace whatever would naturally bring forth peace to our beloved country nigeria.

proevan: Originally Lagos isn't a yoruba town, it was founded by an Edo Oba who was going for war and stopped there (calling it Eko' which means resting place'). Neither did he lay claim to it.
It would b callous for any1 2bring up such fermented and fabricated fallacy of corrupt history sayin lagos was a discovery of an oba 4rm edo bcoz it makes no sense watsoeva, even d togolese and beninoise who share d yoruba language with us know the yoruba tribe 2well than 2say anythin yoruba was affiliate of any other kingdom, the great OYO empire was the 1st colonial master of the bini people get that in2 ur archives of history if u know not now!!!

Nairaland GeneralRe: Origin Of Some Common Nigerian Pigin by Sowl(m): 12:43am On Aug 20, 2014
As much as i wouldnt like 2sound like a tribalist, but i am actually dissapointed @ d fact that most of our ibo brodaz want almost every chance 2compete with d yoruba race and it amuses me a whole lot, in summary it shows the ibo's cant bare 2see d yoruba race be ahead of them in wateva way,i doubt we yorubas think d same way coz if we did,we wldnt have lagos 2b d most accomodatin state in d whole of 9ja that houses almost if not all of the tribes in 9ja..... Nw i wld like 2make some clarifications about this pidgin words and there origins below.....
Iba(malaria fever) :Is clearly and undisputably a yoruba and not an ibo word
Eba : is undisputably a yoruba coinage word,i knw if ibo's where given the chance they wld also lay claim 2manufacturin garri simply bcoz we seem 2 associate d yellow version of garri as garri ibo due to there preferrence of liking it more than we the yoruba's.
Egusi(melon seed/soup]: is simply not of ibo origin, ibos cant lay claim 2it coz dey dnt even produce it on there land,if u ibos want 2lay claim 2sumthin similar then it should b ogbolo soup n its seed.
Ororo(vegetable oil): it wld only b sacrilageous 4 any1 2term ororo as a bini word, its purely n simply yoruba, bini used 2b a colony of d great OYO empire, the OYO empire also has as part of its conquest empire the some parts of togo and benin(if am nt mistaken used 2b known as dahomey) so d similarity of d language comes as no suprise coz yoruba is used in benin, togo and even bini in nigeria here, same goes 4 every colonial master and its colony with similarity in language.
Ipekere: is a yoruba word and nt an ibo word.
Pangolo(can or tin): is also a yoruba word and not of ibo origin, before slate roofs came in2 existance, yorubas used 2call d steel roof (panu),which was a short form of pangolo.
Akara(bean cake): is undisputably a yoruba word and food, ibo's and hausa and every other tribe in dis country can attest 2dat,wnt b surprised if ibo's also want 2lay claim 2 moi-moi(bean pudding) as an ibo word .
My ibo brodaz and sistaz shld look beyond mere envy and stop wateva competition they always want 2ve between they and the yoruba race, its only logical that due 2d fact that majority of d tribes in nigeria are housed and accomodated by we the yorubas, its common sense that they would all have mastered our language and ways of life 2d extent of feeling among but that doesnt mean we would loose our heritage and ways of life and hand it on a platter of gold to them ,we know who we are and what we stand for...... Its only natural for any tribe 2 socially and culturally integrate with wateva tribe that is its host in a geographical area, and the ibo's are no exception but that doesnt mean they should lay claim to whatever seems to belong to the yorubas.

rationalmind: Bro, the discomfort in this camp is too terrible to overlook.

How do I overlook the fact that I pay to get water, pay to wash my clothes(not because I'm lazy to wash), wash my footwear thrice everyday.

How am I supposed to overlook the fact that I have to sleep on bunk every night(The foam is the same as just the bunk)

No bro, I'm not going to overlook it. I'll keep complaining and encourage everyone to keep complaining as we hope our complaints will one day get to them and they'll make the camps a better place to be.

Let me end it by reminding you that the complaints of some people in the past gave birth to the new Ogun state camp we all now adore.
I see every cogent reasons you listed out bro and i quite agree with all you said.... But you misconstrued my intentions of writing that epistle of mine to a large extent, when i said overlook the temporary discomfort involved in the scheme,i never in anyway justified the lack of basic amenities or the necessary facilities that should have been in place to make the camp stay a little more convenient for corpers.
All am about is the drilling and physcical aspect of the scheme plus whatever harsh weather that would have contributed to making the camp stay quite tough,i only was trying to emphasise the reason why every1 of us should have psyched ourselves up for such tasks ahead, and not making flimsy excuses for the complacency on the path of the so called nysc administrators.
I wish you a more stressless stay over there in edo camp for the remaining days you have left.
NYSCRe: NYSC 2014 Batch B House by Sowl(m): 12:29pm On Aug 10, 2014
It amuses me when some of our colleagues or peeps on this thread tend to come and complain so much about there travails in camp. I feel everyone of us as learned adults and matured minds knew the task ahead of us when we where notified by nysc via our call-up letters that we would be camping in our various state of posting. Its only logical for every rationale human to have ''hoped for the best while expecting the worst'' because the word ''camp'' itself can be seen as a place ''where people move out of there comfort zones and reside temporarily which makes them learn survival skills to thrive in such an environment''. So as corpers i suggest we overlook the temporary discomfort and pally with whatever situations we have at hand,it would go a long way in uplifting the already dampened mood and low morale,by enhancing our will to survive and make something out of nothing.
I hope we all come out successful from this scheme with tales of groundbreaking and life changing achievements..... Salute all ye patriotic 9ja students that obeyed the clarion call...... Long live and GOD bless 9ja.
