BlackManta:
15 movies and shows in 2 years is too much.

MCU fatigue is slowly creeping in after phase 4.

Me personally have seen every MCU thing from phase 1 to 3

Phase 4 was such an overload and I found myself skipping a few shows.

I didn't watch She-hulk and Ms Marvel. Nothing will make me watch Agatha, Echo, What If and Iron heart.

The notion that you have to see every MCU film and show because it's all connected doesn't matter to me anymore.

Superhero fatigue is real and Kevin Feige is pushing it.

Sometimes these MCU films and shows go into production with incomplete scripts and they do rewrites and heavy reshoots few months before the movie releases.

MCU has also been found guilty of overworking and stressing their VFX artists just to meet up before a deadline.

Phase 4 has been quantity over quality and it seems Kevin Feige is doubling down with that shit in phase 5.

I'm glad that James Gunn is limiting DCU to no more than 2 films and 2 shows per year.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember MCU cancelling any show because of low viewership and almost all the movies we dropped in phase 4 did good expect for Eternals wey Chloe carry us dey go where we no know. The problem I know that the MCU and even CBM as a whole has is the low quality level of their movies. If you are saying that the numbers of movies the MCU releases is too much then that is cap.

CB fans will consume any amount you give them in a year as long as you can tell a good story brilliantly. There's still a whole lot of characters that they want to see explored in live action so we just dey start sef. Shows have not even dropped and you have concluded that you will not watch it so that is your personal problem. If you want to churn out one 90 minute long movie and only three episodes a year because you dey fear fatigue then I don't give a fûck.

If Kevin will be true to his word and focus on improving quality then everything we will bring in phase 5 will do numbers without a doubt.

Soooo apparently Elvis (the movie) was so good they had to turn it into a TV series. Let see what Netflix has for us. 🙈

I feel like there are some movies you can already tell would be terrible even before they are released...

Here is one: The Marvels

I can't believe anyone actually thinks this movie will turn out good...
Simply say you won't watch it because you smell fempowerment. 😒
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by SOZINN: 12:30am On Feb 07, 2023
Lols una think say MCU go sit quietly dey watch James Gunn before. Music don set.
Make we dey watch na. 😏

Baddestguyp:
Correct me if I'm wrong...but doesn't it need to make almost triple the budget to break even?

It sure did but still when you compare to the first movie, it underperformed
Um no. 🙄 Total budget statement we were given is 250m. I think production, advertising and promotions are in there. The movie grossed over 450m domestically and it gets to keep a little over half of that. That's over 225m already, then add international gross which is around 370, it also gets to keep close to half of that so do the math. I've already mentioned that this one didn't have China. 😒
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by SOZINN: 8:43pm On Feb 06, 2023
Baddestguyp:
they can tbh...
But it's still unnecessary expenses...

And the movie ended up making $842m on a $250m budget...
It did break even but you could say it underperformed especially compared to the first movie
842m on 250m budget is successful not an underperformance that's over X3. 🙄Also if they had china they would have hit a billion easily but that is not even the point. Even if the cameos skyrocketed the budget to 350m Disney would have still made it happen if they wanted. Marvel is one of their biggest milk factories, should we begin to calculate the numbers they've been doing for over 10+ years? Whatever they want they'll get chief, don't even go there. 😒

scheduling conflict is probably another reason why the avengers didn't show up.
True, but I felt they could have reached out to them and the avengers could have sent their condolences or something even if they could not make it to the funeral. Overall the way they handled it shows that they didn't plan for it initially. Black Panther dieing is a pretty big deal, especially after the events of endgame.

Baddestguyp:
*Disney...not marvel
I heard their stock value keeps decreasing...
And I've been seeing reports of Twitter a few times about how they lost about $4 billion from Disney+ last year

They're still making money from a few movies like Avatar 2...but losing a ton from other movies and shows...

They have also had a ton of movies making less than expected, and the Star Wars franchise is in a mess with rumours that they want to resell it
Disney is too big for these things you are saying. You think Disney is too broke to fund cameos from other avengers in Black Panther's sequel. 😂 That opening scene is just plot inconsistency.

Black Panther - Wakanda Forever

• First off the accent was a mess. As an African I've never seen someone try to represent my culture and fail so badly at it. The whole thing sounds like a mix, this second you'll hear Nigerian and in the same sentence you'll hear Ghanian or even Kenyan. In my opinion they should have just picked one and worked with it, it would have sounded a bit more organized to me. I think they had good trainers, the mix was the problem.

• Overall it was an ok story. It had it's inconsistencies but I don't believe anyone would notice without careful observation or a rewatch. Kudos to Ryan Coogler for having to rewrite the entire thing after Chadwick passed as fast as possible just to be able to meet the deadline. He was still able to come up with something decent.

• The action sequences were well done. The movie makes you wait for the action but when it comes its worth the wait. It was near perfect the only drawback were those scenes with the Dora Milaje. Their reflexes and fighting style didn't match what was given to me to work with in the movie. It was a little over done. However, Namor's action sequences deserve special praise. When he is out utilizing what he has to do what he wants it's really badass. They paid special attention to detail again and that's one of the reasons I like marvel. The final showdown was cool, there was a bit of lazy writing there but it was a cool ending to a movie that had viewers stressed out with its overly long duration.

• A good 20 minutes could have been cut out from this movie. Not that the fluff did not make sense but they should have just cut some of it and put it in the dialogue. That would have taken the dialogue to a higher grade. It had a very average dialogue and with the accent falling apart, it made me cringe sometimes.

• The set design is the second best part of the movie and this was a downgrade from what we got in the first installment but I'll take it. I didn't like Wakanda's design as it was a bit smaller but Talokan did put a smile on my face, they weren't trying to be Atlantis. I read some reviews where the writers expressed disappointment in Talokans technology and I think they were wrong to feel that way. Atlantis was already a civilization reaching serious grounds in technological advancement before they went underwater while Talokan were just some Mexican scavengers. I'm glad with what they were able to build but I'm also grateful they didn't over do it. The costumes were actually quite good, I have a problem with Iron Heart but that's a personal issue.

• The music was fuckîng amazing and they'll live rent free in my phone. That's all I'll say.

• The acting was fire. All the nominations they were getting were well deserved. Letitia Wright had to step up in this movie and she did. Comparing her work in this movie to the previous one - this was one hell of an upgrade. Everyone else put in a good show, I wish to see all of them in the next one. I think they should keep Ryan. I still hold the opinion that Evans could have given us a better Namor but I understand why Tenoch was cast and I can work with him. He's not a bad actor. This movie wasn't better than the first one, but I think with everything that has happened we should cut them some slack. They just need to go back, clear their heads and give us something better to complete the trilogy. I think they're a solid team and they can do it if given the chance. I love the fact that Talokan is now in the picture and I want to see what Shuri and Namor can build in the coming flick.

Well + and - everything, I think the movie deserves a C. Thor Love and Thunder along with Black Adam are still the worst comic book movies I had to endure in 2022. Spider-Man No Way Home still has the throne in Phase 4.

I just dey see the low budget Kira dey shake head. Dem no even give explanation for that one as dem dey give Stiles absence.
Na Peter even gimme small ginger as he remained the same and Malia.

Omo, that part wey everybody start dey beat the Oni like say na school children dem dey fight with. I just dey laff as I see Scott mama for there.
Oni wey hand everybody their @ss suddenly turn mumu wey no Sabi fight or dodge and block bullet.

The same Oni wey kill Alisson and Aiden for fight upon how skilled those werewolves be that time.
That Nogitsune wey fvvk up everybody mind back then with Stiles na en dem dey defeat with ease.
Kai...

Na God go punish the creator and director sha.

I'll probably go back and watch the season 6 part two cos I no fit leave the memory of that show with this epic shït wey I just watch.

Teen Wolf: The Movie.....3/10

Absolute horrendous flick.... Flat acting, cringe dialogue, wack writing and absolutely weak characters. The fight scenes even looked cartoonish and seriously dropped quality. It moved at break neck speeds the movie quickly began to loose substance. The core of the franchise was slow build-up to a storyline.

The only memorable people in this movie was Dereck Hale and his son and their relationship. The Alisson comeback from the dead is just a cheap gimmick to get fans back and it's the weakest link in the entire plot.
It's criminal to do this movie with almost everyone back without getting Stiles back. He was the heart of the TV show. Sidelining him removed the best part of the franchise. Guess Dylan O'Brien is too busy forging ahead with his future than coming back to this shït.

Also, bringing back old villains instead of creating new ones and story arc made the story weak from the start. It wasn't even handled half as decent.

The only reason you'd want to watch this is just for the nostalgia. It's just a cheap grab by Paramount to feed some content to its fledgling streaming service.
Teen Wolf fans don't deserve this kind of treatment. This shouldn't be the last memory we have of this series. I hope they didn't do something stupíd like set the ending for a sequel or something. 🤦🏾‍♂️Make God no punish them.

Alright, will give you heads up.

Started the first 25mins yesternight and most of what I could see was cringe. E just dey soap opera-ish for my eyes.

The only reason I'm back for it is because I cherish the show and the characters but this movie is looking very weak AF in comparison to the show.
But mehn, that Malia actress is cute AF. I've always admired her, her @ss in the first minutes of the film was GOLD. grin grin

Early days yet tho.
Out of all the girls in Scott's circle Malia was always the hottest. Heaven knows how many times I replayed scenes of her relationship with Stiles. I was just happy for Stiles. 😁 The show should have stopped in season five but they kept dragging it. In the trailer for the movie I saw too many villains there. I just hope the whole thing doesn't turn out to be a mess.
