Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by spaceman(m): 3:32pm On Nov 05, 2010
@ sathob,
I am referring you back to the very first post you made on this thread: Re; Solar Energy, A Comp. to FTA.
So it means you will need not less than a 84Ah, 12V battery (deep-cycle batteries, not ordinary car batteries) to do the job.

NB. Another way of calculating battery capacity is explained in this example. Should my battery be rated at 84Ah, 12V the watt hour (energy) will be 84Ah x 12 V = 1008Ah

It implies that the battery can supply a 150watt appliance for 1008/70 = 14hours

Pls don’t just play around with batteries they are dangerous.

In the quote from that post, the calculation in red I dont understand, how you come about dividing by 70, while talking of 150W appliance.
I would be glad if you can make this clear.
You know say me i no do maths for school.
Thank you bro.

People have bn discouragin me on this but i so much like how the guy in lagos wanna go about my project.

The project is a Car Demobilzer with Cell Phone as Trackin device. Thanks!
No wonder we have so many fake engineers in Nigeria.
Bros how would you be able to defend your project then, when someone else is constructing for you?
Did you not propose DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION, ?
I am surprised, how boldly you come up to say this. Unarguably , I have mixed up with "engineering graduates" from your school, and I saw how fake they are. You have comfirmed it too. bro.
Sorry to say. Truth is hard, but lets free our mind of the burden.
These universities are all dwelling on past glories. What manner of graduates do we have today? Develop yourselves everybody!
No vex bros, na as e pain me na im I talk am.

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: What Channels Can One Receive With A Yagi Antena And A Strong Box by spaceman(m): 9:56am On Oct 20, 2010
Lov4sat:
Hello gurus

I want to carry out a research on my 4669x box with yagi antenna but I am not too sure of the channels to receive though my brother in Delta state use this type of installation and he receives some channels like NatGeo wild, Fox series and some other channels I can't remember now.

My question here is, it is possible to use kind of installation in port harcourt?
Bros Iam not sure you are talking of strong digital satellite receiver. I know of strong digital terrestrial receiver, I came across many of them last year at DK when I was looking for 4900/4910 to buy. Ask him what make of strong he using to get these channels.
I very much want to believe somebody in your brothers area could be using digital video sender connected to probably a dstv decoder which your brother's yaggi was opportuned to pick up.
This I say because I was once involved in a survey to connect video signal from one point to another wirelessly in a premises. This signal was only to be receivable by the receiver meant for it. This could be a similar thing your bros decoder was picking.
Just an opinion expresed.
Anyway, let us know the outcome of your research.
Enjoy

All channels on infinity are with audio except the sky news and one other channel on daar box. just let your daar box do update OTA, or delete the tp and re-enter it to scan.

bolyjay:
can 1.8m dish nail nilesat 201 here in nigeria.
bros too many tyms a ?
If 1.8m is nailing in 101 and 102 Nigeria, then 201 should not be an exception.
Your problem is that you dont want to be the one to try, only waiting for someone to tell u it is possible.
U try it urself, and u could then be the one to start giving others the guide.
Go out!
Give it a trial!
you can do even better than u tot

Y all this worry for audio on infinity channels? Guys relax these service provider are still test transmitting. They do not even know their final stand yet and
are experimenting so much for now, and I personally do not see reason for us to worry. After all, they are warming up for encryption,
Relax men!
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: All About Multi Tv Free To Air On Astra 2b by spaceman(m): 11:03am On Sep 06, 2010
@twinskenny
As for the daarbox
I have two channels of switch saved, one with audio and the other without. Mine keeps upgrading/updating OTA. I think you should rescan, because I know I did rescan and that is y I have audio on one. I mean when the audio part was upgraded, OTA it saved as second switch.
On editing the audio/Video, I have explore all aspect of the box, but no where to get the setup edited. I think it s tyme we give this box more attention, because more and more features are being revealed.

@all
On Kaon KSC660HD
Sometimes I find this box upgrading OTA. It halts and start upgrading, and when upgrade completes it returns to the channel being viewed. I experience this on Astra 2B, especially when I tuned to/or in between the Infinity channels, and few occasions on W7 after scanning.
As regards the absence of blind scanning feature, I still believe, having saved the satellite, and have a tp on the satellite, if you scan the satellite other tps would pop up. This was my experience, when I entered few of W7 tps, and did the scan other tps came up.
Just an experience shared

Again on the use of the HDMI feature on the box
I connected HDMI cable to it and to HD laptop, expecting to be able to view ,but no response on the screen. I could not view anything.
Please what do I need to do ?. This idea came up as an alternative way to watching satellite programme with just ups only- in a compact and private form

my experience with the Daar box
The box is not bad sha. The lack of blind scanning feature makes it though putting tps. You have to get the tp else, whatch the only one you have.
I tried Multi tv, I was not getting it on the box, using the DVB S2 8PSK, until I tried the DVB-S mode, and it came up.
I believe with time I will get use to it.

I think this finding of Magaddai, should not be ignored
I had foreseen more transmission beaming from the Astra 2B, before the coming of infinity tv. Now, a Stray signal was piked up from it.
How and where could this stray signal with different tp come from? Who knows, something is cooking. Lets keep checking, when the food is ready, we shall all dine and wine.
Dow I wish daaarrrr sat could come back on this bird.

@ magaddai
How long did you
