Evergeen22: Thanks bro. How much do you think it might cost and what are my chances ?
I only used an agent to pay because I couldn’t as I was making the payment from China Regarding payment, there are several ways you could have done it yourself. There were several options you were not aware of. Getting an immigration lawyer is possible, and the price varies, since each lawyer has his/her own price. However, it is in the millions range... 1.5 million naira and above. |

pale232: Hi Everyone,
My application was also refused based on personal assets and financial status. Tbh, my application was quite shoddy (Submitted very basic documents). It was months after applying I got to know of Nairaland and sincerely I commend everyone's effort for the input ( The info put out here is amazing). I have learnt a lot which will be applied in my next application. I am self sponsored. I submitted my usd dollar account with lump payments in 2 tranches without any explanation.
I didn't also attach my salary account since there was no fund it which I realised I should have done now and not enough evidence i was gainfully employed. I just submitted basic documents(mbs, b.sc cert, transcripts,c.v and previous visas to various countries; realising based on this thread that won't influence the decision) Although I tried salvaging my application after already 5 weeks off showing eligibility required by sending a webform with a more detailed LOE and additional documents. Thanks to Shupy for responding to my enquiries.
I got my refusal letter 2 weeks later. I have ordered for my gcms notes, trying to wait patiently for it. My admission was for fall 2021 but will have to defer till January 2022. P.s I submitted in March, NSE route. I'm very sorry about this. I respect your perseverance and tenacity. Please when in march did you submit? |

Teeprecious: This one na agent from hell! Jeezzz, why are people so wicked. Why on earth will u as an individual intentionally cause havoc for someone. He paid u from his sweat and did this much damage. Omo people are monstrous o. I pray u scale through this. There are so many people like that in Nigeria. (I can't say the same for other countries because I haven't traveled out before.) But the wicked things I see happen around everyday have completely transformed the way I think. I suffer the consequences of self-reliance, but I achieve much more by it. |

Evergeen22: Hello everyone. So I’m the guy that applied from China but couldn’t pay for the visa application fee because I don’t have a Nigerian card with me, I had to give money to an agent in Nigeria to pay for the visa application fee. Then later I got an email saying there was a charge back on the fee and the agent quickly gave me another receipt and said sorry without explaining what happened. Then 3 weeks later I got a Refusal email with 5 year ban. I was worried and I requested for my notes. And it turned out that this same person canceled the payment again. Hence the denial and ban.
Please my brothers and sisters. How do I lift off this ban? Below is my notes !!
Please help The way out is expensive. You will have to get an immigration lawyer to defend you. I am very very sorry about this. I've got serious trust issues, and it has huge disadvantages, but I've learnt to live that way. I do most, if not all, things myself. |

It's quite ironic that those who go the distance just to help other people never get enough compensation for their effort. He is a classic example of someone who sacrificed his time and knowledge to help others, but was never compensated one way or the other. Hardly anyone checked up on him to know how he was doing. The fact that he couldn't get a phone in a long while shows that he's had quite an experience in a while, and this reality simply makes me philosophize some more. |

Bebeto @shupy Bro, like I always say, if we disagree on a subject, there's a way to do so politely. I know that you had the best intentions when you countered what Anon said, but your approach was a little abrasive. Shupy might have come off a little too harsh, even though it was in defense to your cutting remark to Anon. And all these reactions have spiraled down to throwing of insults. Peace He didn't imply that upfront medical is an accelerator. He merely stated that upfront medical will reduce delay. I think you misunderstood him. Having upfront medical examination reduces the delay associated with getting a date for appointment several months later after medical request has been made. |

Ruthbella: Congratulations to you and hubby. Febuary applicants are getting PPR while November and December applicants are still waiting. What could be the problem? I am very sorry about this. It is not fair. And while I am a March applicant hoping this continues sequentially through the year (Feb then March, then April...), I honestly think they should answer you guys first before they answer the rest of us. It is simply the right thing to do. But it's beyond me. May God intervene. |

lushk: I am sharing my timeline to encourage everyone…. I got a lot of Info from Nairaland and I hope this helps at least one person.
I reached out to an agent initially that gave me a bill of 1500 USD, when I converted to Naira, I decided to do my application my self. Thank God for grace and patience.
First time applicant -age 30 Program of study- MBA School- Rotman school of management - University of Toronto I got partial scholarship but still needed to show how I will fund the balance and my expenses.
So prior to my study permit application, I had two expired EE application my score was low so I didn’t get ITA. This made me nervous cos it was a proof that I would be looking for PR after my studies and I wasn’t sure if it would affect their decision.
Submitted my application February 19 with Upfront Medicals and my bank statement Biometric request Feb 20 Biometrics updated to pass Feb 24 Medical updated to pass Feb 26 NSE request for IELTS Feb 25 Submitted IELTS- Mar 27 BVL May 31 PPR June 1
I graduated in 2011, and I have worked in the financial services industry since 2011 from my NYSC posting. I got my Chartered financial analyst (CFA) certification in 2019 so my LOE was focused on saying I needed the MBA for career progression and to take on leadership position. I also spoke about the need for investment analysts to have a global training to prevent mismanaging large funds and negatively affecting the Nigerian capital markets.
I attached pictures of my family members, got a study leave, letter of intro and my payslips from my employer.
For economic ties I used my 75% of my pension, my car and my equity investment. The 25% of my pension I stated I would use it for my funding during my studies. The PFA gave me a letter to support this.
For funding, the first page was a letter explaining all lump sums and where they came from and I stated that it was to show sufficient liquidity. I included two tables one showing all my expected expenses for two years and all my funding. Then I included a summary table showing both incase there was any confusion that the funding was more than the expense.
My program is for 2 years so I had to show how I intended to finance it for the total duration. I didn’t want to inform any relatives so I had to sponsor my self. I got my admission in October, didn’t apply till February because of funding, I used this time to consolidate my finances and also apply for loans. I applied to Prodigy ( I was rejected) and Mpower( I got approved).
The school had an immigration lawyer that also helped me look through my letters and my forms Congratulations once again. May God bless your journey abundantly. |

All these documents were available prior to the application, however the agent I used refused to use them saying it was too much. Do you think with all these its possible to tackle the issues.
I am more concerned about how to go about the further proof of funds.
Tank you so much for your time The application is somehow. It looks damaged beyond repair, honestly (I apologize for being so blunt, but it communicates the observation better). Where do you want to start? How do you want to go about it? There are too many mistakes already. From the voluntarism in a different field to a different previous educational study, to a different prospective educational study, to omitting a lot of sources of income. Just pray to God to do a miracle, and then prepare better for a next application. |

SuomyNona: More good news.
It seems the Canadian government's COVID-19 Testing and Screening Expert Advisory Panel has advised that the government should end its policy of mandatory three-day quarantine stays in designated hotels.
This means there is possibility that the huge cost associated with the hotel stay will be not be a concern for Fall students.

Whale2018: Good morning House.
I have a concern to share as regards student permit application and require a quick response from those knowledgeable in this area.
Is it advisable to apply for a U.S. student permit visa for a two years course that starts in August 2021 after submitting a second application (after the first denial) for a Canadian study permit for a 2 years course that starts in September 2021 because the wait is tiring?
Should I go ahead with my U.S. student visa application, bearing in my that Canada is my priority?
If the U.S. approves and stamps my passport for the same period as my course of study in Canada, should Canada request for my passport, would there be a course for concern given there is a valid U.S. study visa on it?
Can I have my passport stamped by both countries for the same academic study periods?
Thanks in advance. I share the same concern. |
