I strongly advise you request gcms note asap
Nah... Not necessary. My mind is not even on this Canada visa stuff. When they are ready, they will give their outcome. I am too busy for all that.

Secondly, many people have gotten PPR without these updates. So, it's not a reason to fret at all. But like I said, it's merely inconsequential to me.

Please I submitted my application on feb 17th and I got nse request and submitted my ielts result and bank statement .I also didn’t have to do biometrics because I have Canadian visitor’s visa and I did upfront medical on April 20th and it has not still been updated on my application.please what should I do.
You are not alone.

I had my medical examination on April 21.

Medical wasn't updated.

Apparently, it's becoming quite common. They update some and they don't update some.

Just keep sending webforms /emails from time to time.

And take your mind off it.

I feel that for every number of positive response dished out by the Canadian VOs, there is an equal number of negative response also given out. Like, they hold meetings and discuss the number of approvals and rejections for each week/month.
Some of us will just be victims, it's very sad.

Someone can not even say congratulations in peace without feeling guilty for a corresponding rejection.

EDUCATION MOST ESPECIALLY IN CANADA IS A LIFE TIME INVESTMENT Think about your End goal. if you have the money for it , then I will prefer you choose CA.

But CA Study visa is not just about the money. Do you have all that it takes?
Yeah, and much more.

Outstanding academic record. (Valedictorian)

Existing businesses.

Strong study plan and career plan spanning 40 more years.

I am less anxious about the visa though, even if it doesn't click (there are options B, C and D). But it should click.

As it is often said, this process is a whole rollercoaster of different emotions and is draining; from the anxiety to Panic attacks BUT at the end of the day, it is worth it.

Nairobi will be on break tomorrow and on Thursday which leaves us to hearing positively from them on Friday (this week).

I pray and believe we all receive that good news- Love letter.

Happy Eid al-Fitr to all our Muslim Brothers and Sisters.

And to the rest of us, have a wonderful and restful break.

In the words of Mr. Frank, "it will end in praise".
Same here.

Happy Holidays.

Have a splendid time.

All of us March applicants, make we gather (March 11 for me). We must celebrate here together!

Hopefully, we will hear good news first week in June.

I am Adaeze, a graduate of Covenant University. I am about to start a graduate certificate program in Durham College Oshawa by Fall 2021 and have gone through the hectic process of getting my visa after deferring twice since last year due to my dads bank statement having too many outflow that may raise a eyebrow.

Let me break down my journey on how I got my visa through NSE.

1. I got a visiting visa with my family in 2016 to Canada and visited there in 2017.
2. Reapplied to renew my visa January 2020 to visit my sister who is currently a student. Got denied in March 2020
3. Got admission July 2020 and Paid fees in August 2020.
4. Used an education agency who helped with May sisters application.
5. Deferred to January due to bank statement issue,
6. Got referred to a licensed immigration lawyer in Canada who really helped with my application and understanding why I was denied my visiting visa renewal.( January 2021)
7. He encouraged me to take the IELTS, which I prepared under one month with a kit I bought on IG. I’ll drop the link to the page below. https://instagram.com/theladderagency?igshid=1h2avnmu9z7pm
8. Scored a band 8.5 on my first trial.
9. Wrote a fantastic SOP, I will share once my I get my passport back.
10. Got bank statements from mybankstatement and also paid my complete fees. Another to note. My mum had savings in PiggyVest which stood as my living expenses.

The key thing is the finance part, if you can show where all the money in your sponsors account is coming from and explain key reasons why you would gain from this education in your sop, your visa is sure! I got my confirmation message under a month and 2 weeks.

I hope this helps someone about to write ielts or having issues with bank statements.

Also the lawyer was quite expensive but he really helped in backing and solidifying my application

#canada #studyvisa #studentpermit #ielts #mybankstatement
8.5!!! shocked

You are really smart ooo.

I had 8.0. Yeah, I noticed IELTS goes a long way in improving one's chances of getting a visa approval.

If bank statement is legit and shows reliable source of income, that helps a lot.

With a solid reason for schooling in Canada and not in Nigeria, that's practically all there is to it.

A Glittery transcript is an added advantage. But many applications have been approved with fair results.

You've said it all.

Dear Spectro,
Please what if I finished school in 2019 and due to the covid19, I've wasn't able to secure a job throughout 2020. What should I write? Fresh graduate or how will I put it. Though I've been doing some online businesses since then through my Facebook page.

Pls advice.
This is 2021, that's about three years.

Oh well, if your online businesses legitimately bring in cash, and your bank statement can reflect that, put it in words.

If you were taking courses between 2019 and now, put it in words.

You can add your BSc certificate to your application.

Remember this home address will also be reflected in your IMM Family form (for some members of your family who reside there), so it's safe to use it.

@spectro.

I am amazed at your recent reviews. God bless you.

I have recently recieved a visa refusal from IRCC base on personal asset and financial status. I am a self sponsor. I had a balance of 17m and inflow of 50m over 6months.

Now I am scared about the self sponsorship so I intend using my mom to do a deed of assignment for me for one of her property which I will sell and use as my source of income. But the thing is the money would come as a lump sum in my account. Please advise me on this
50 million over 6 months?

If you've got a very big business, I understand that is achievable.

But if this has to do with lump sums along the line, it could be the reason for your refusal.

Yeah, the deed of assignment works (Get a legally approved deed of gift document). Just make sure you explain very well in your SOP. Make sure you present all the necessary documents.

It will end in praise.

(NB: Get your GCMS note first, to understand what the previous VO felt was not right with your application)

From the last sentence, it only makes sense for the VO to consider the other dependents apart from the applicant. That brings me to my question: I (the applicant) have a brother who's still in school currently doing his PhD, though he's on scholarship.

When filling the family information form, there's a section where they ask me the details of my siblings, including their occupation. can I put an arbitrary occupation for my elder brother so that VO knows that my father sponsoring me bears no financial responsibility towards the education of any other of his children apart from me.

Or can my sponsor (who's my father) explain to the VO is his letter of sponsorship that he doesn't bear any financial responsibility towards his son (my elder brother) still in school (since he's on scholarship) and can fund my studies without any hindrance.
Do not lie to the VO

The VO will have records of your brother who is taking PhD

Tell the truth. Fill the truth in the blank. It's a scholarship for your brother anyway.

Focus the story on yourself instead.

(Yeah, your dad can do that. He can let the VO know the number of dependents he has... Your PhD brother is not a dependent, as he is independent.)

An IELTS certificate may be sent to your home address (or you may have to go get it yourself)

Have you submitted your visa application?

If no, attach the ielts certificate to other documents intended for the category of client information.

If yes, send the ielts certificate via webform and/or email to IRCC.

thanks a lot, so are you saying I don't need to use both of them or can I use both of them their conbined balance is more solid
You can use both of them, but sometimes, sponsorships by in-laws are vetted more and a bit suspicious because they are not the closest relatives to one.

If both of them are indeed willing to sponsor you, you may have to go the extra mile in legally binding this agreement, by notarizing, etc.

Good evening everyone.
I’m about to submit my application finally but I have a question about the proof of funds.
My dad has a separate account specifically for university funds that he has been depositing money in. That is the account we got mybankstatement for. However I’ve been reading the past few pages of this thread and I’m seeing that there has to be proof that he can support the other members of my family as well. Do I explain in the letter of sponsorship that this account is solely for university fees or do I need to give proof of money in another account.
If the bank account created for your university studies purpose is funded sufficiently, and if it bears your name, then explain very well in your SOP. The VOs will understand.

If it bears your father's name, explain too.

The most important thing is that the bank account you speak of has sufficient fund in it, i.e., tuition, living expenses and other unavoidable expenditures.

While I think it's impressive what your dad has done, it won't hurt your application if you submit that MBS and your father's personal account MBS, since you have stated that he is your sponsor.

Your father, as your sponsor, is expected to present a letter of sponsorship. He is to explain how he intends to sponsor you, given the available funds.

He should also present an Affidavit regarding sponsorship declaration, where he declares his funds, assets, sources of income, etc...

He should also present an Affidavit regarding financial support. That is where he affirms that he will truly sponsor you with sososo amount and for sososo purpose.

(If you are wondering how to go about this, please look it up via the Internet... I don't have any sample here.)

please my brother was going to be my sponsor however his registered business acc has not been functional so most of his funds have been going through his personal account. However his wife has paid employment and is willing to stand as my guarantor. Which of them do you advise that I use or can I present both of them as my co-sponsors
\
As long as your brother's account is funded normally, you can present his personal account.

But you must also present his business establishment documents, such as CAC document, and other associated ones.

Whatever you think may raise suspicion, explain very well in your SOP.

However, your brother's personal account is fine.

General Spectro sir,

Please can you enlighten we that are self Sponsored/business owner on how to address our financial prove and legitimate documents to submit regarding financial aspects

Thanks.

Looking forward
As a self-sponsor

Make sure you have the following in your account.

1. Tuition for a year
2. Living expenses, 10000 CAD at the very least. (10500 upward is preferrable)
3. Expenses for traveling to Canada, 3 days quarantine in a hotel
4. Remaining balance should be commensurate with the financial needs of your dependents (if they are staying in Nigeria) for the period of that year (but preferably more than that year).

Secondly

1. Avoid lump sums, unless these are business regulars.
2. Present genuine bank statement
3. Explain your self-sponsorship in your SOP, and how it will not adversely impact your dependents financially.
4. Explain how you wish to set aside your fund (transportation, feeding, etc.,) when you finally travel, so that the VOs will know you have a sense of responsibility and financial intelligence.

Connect your hometies to your business and dependents.

In regards to legitimate documents, submit

1. Personal account (MBS is good, but you can submit MBS and normal account statement).
2. Business account (if you wish, but it helps)
3. Business CAC
4. Other proof of business establishment
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Spectro: 4:59pm On May 06, 2021
2. Financial matters

- Lump sum deposition is becoming a Naija tradition, and the VOs know this.

- If a lump sum will appear in a statement of account, you better be ready to do a lot of explaining and convincing. Otherwise, it becomes a red flag.

-It is better to make your (or your Sponsor's) account look as genuine as possible. Lump sum close to application time is not cool. Some people get away with it if they are ready to explain and convince, but it's too risky.

- If sponsor has dependents, the number of dependents and the closing balance in the statement of account are factors these VOs look at. If the closing balance is 12 million, and sponsor is giving you 10 million, but sponsor has ten children...

- Your sponsor should be able to have a safe and comfortable balance if sponsorship fund is disbursed to you. If not, that's red flag.

No problem Shugaban Spectro

Ok, thanks so much

So its safe to say that for instance,

"an Applicant who did Medicals in August 15, 2020, got study visa December 2020 (for a Fall 2021 program) and wants to travel July 20 , 2021" is good to go opia?
That's like one year bro. Remember the medical examination happened on August 15, 2020.

To be on the safer side, I'd advise the person to do another medical examination in July.

(In the previous post, I should have stated that the one year duration starts to count the moment you complete your medical examination... My apologies, sir.)
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Spectro: 4:34pm On May 06, 2021
For those about to apply.

1. Write a solid SOP (Statement of Purpose). This document is very important. It should indicate the following.
- What you studied in a previous academic institution
- When you graduated
- What you did between graduation and now (were you working, where did you work, did you just graduate?)
- Please, don't write that you've been unemployed. You are either a recent graduate or have been gainfully employed.
- What course you want to study abroad
- Why you want to study that course
- Why you should not study that course here in Nigeria
- Why you opted for the Canadian University you chose
- Why you opted for Canada and not some other country
- How acquiring a degree from the Canadian University will help your situation in Nigeria.
- How acquiring a degree from the Canadian University will enable you to add value to Nigeria.
- How you will be a law-abiding visitor and good neighbor in Canada.
- What you intend to do when you return to Nigeria after your studies.
- Declaration of funds and its allocation; who is sponsoring, how will the fund be allocated (fees, transportation, accommodation), etc?

Austin163:
There's something I'm not understanding here
1. If my tuition fee for 1year and living expenses is 8m and I have a sponsor, I dont think it will be wise for my sponsor to commit or tie down that money when he can use it for his business turnover.
2. That my married sponsor has 10m as his closing balance and I have 8m at his expense doesn't mean he cannot sponsor me what should matter is the cash flow. Of course I can't have 10m and have a business to do with it and decided to forfeit the business because I'm sponsoring even its my son or daughter. I believe that the issue of visa approval is God as we don't really know what this people are looking for from applicant's.
3. Closing balance is the reason people go for magomago way by lump sum. My opinion o.
Here is the thing.

What the VOs are thinking most time is if you will truly have access to the fund you claim will be available to you.

While you may be telling the truth in your application, the VOs have been advised to use their own discretion. Hence, they may redflag you for something they suspect to be falsehood, even if it is not falsehood.

This is caused by VOs' past experiences with many Naija applications.

So always remember to pray. With God, nothing is impossible.

I should add that

1. VOs have rules they follow. Whether these rules make sense to other people or not does not matter. Our own is to follow these rules too.

2. If your sponsor has dependents, then it is the job of the VO to examine the account statement and connect it with the socioeconomic circumstances of your sponsor. If the VO thinks the sponsor cannot/should not make such fund available to you, that can lead to a refusal.
