I think you should contact your school's international students office to let them know of your plans. I remember someone asked a similar question on my school's forum and the response was that you'll have to explain to the border officer the reason why you're coming late. Since your classes are still online you should be able to explain yourself. Just contact your school they'll be in the best position to advice you on this.
God bless you for this. I really needed this.

I will do as you have said.

@spectro please when did you reapply and when did you get ppr.
I reapplied on June 24, Bsc at University of Lethbridge, hoping for ppr soon.
I reapplied July 6.

Eligibility review started the next day.

It is God's grace o. I can't even explain. I don't even know what to say. I feel a little guilty sef because there are people here who have submitted 8 months ago but no feedback.

I am thinking of traveling in November, before the fall semester examination.

Classes are online this semester. I can handle that in Nigeria.

But I won't like to take my exams from Nigeria... If network mess up, that will be too sad.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by Spectro: 9:48am On Jul 30, 2021
Guys, I have a question to ask.

If I decide to travel in November, instead of September, will it be a problem? I intend to take classes online before finally moving so as to minimize expenses.

Fall semester this year is online for us... I don't wanna spend on accommodation when I can simply take my classes from here.

Here is a public forum, and there is a reason why it is a public forum. The only laws guiding this thread is the Nairaland forum laws and not individually suggested laws.

It is normal that some individuals will see situations that can be improved on, but trust me it won't matter on the long run. That's the beauty of a public forum, everybody is free to do their personal will provided it didn't contravene the law of the platform (Nairaland).

Few months ago that I started following this thread. I went through tons of pages to get the information I needed before proceeding to ask those I am confused about. But it is very common to see many people ask about a thing that is stated on the very first page of the thread. I used to frown on that before, until I realise it is a public forum and there is bound to be individual differences.

Many people will act differently and will approach things differently to how you will approach it.

You cannot tell people how to celebrate their application approval and you can't also tell people how to react to their application denial. You cannot tell people how to post or what to post about approval and denial also.

Most people that post their decisions usually add timelines and documents submitted. And I think that's the most important thing.

May God ease all our affairs.
It's a public forum, which means he also has the right to post his views on here. Just as you have the right to do the same.

But if you guys keep dragging this on, this thread will be polluted, and what's the point.

PPR just dropped.

Funny thing is I applied this month, and it's a reapplication.

Previous refusals were purpose of visit and home tie.

So I made some very serious adjustments in my reapplication. I submitted more documents to prove my family tie and explained copiously in my SOP.

The purpose of visit concerns must have been entered in error because I had very good academic/career progression, so I stressed on that, albeit politely.

As for home tie, that's pretty personal and can't share that here with you.

The most important thing is that I did a lot of explaining. I think I wrote like three different LOEs. I also attached a lot of documents as evidence.

But here is the thing, there are many ways of compiling an application. And what works for me may not work for the other person.

I wish you all the best.

Dear Spectro, how are you holding up? Anyone knows what's up about Spectro? Has he received his GCMS note? Has he reapplied?
Thank you so so much (May God's abundant blessings locate you). I'm quite well. I should have reapplied a lot earlier, but I am waiting for tuition fee debit in my account. GCMS note will come in first week of July, but that's not much problem.

I intend to make a very water-tight application this time, and I don't want to leave any stone unturned, which is why getting my tuition payment receipt is quite imperative. By the special grace of God, I should be able to apply either next week or the first week of July.

I am very happy about the PPR showers these past few weeks. I pray for more rain of PPR in the coming weeks.

Do not get discouraged, order your gcms and reapply if that's where you priority lies.

How can I explain every cash deposit that comes into a business man account fgs

No be juju be that ?
I think the financial status and personal asset concern mostly has to do with availability and accessibility of funds. But your GCMS note can reveal more details. Is there a way you can send it to my email, so I can study it?

Have you gotten your final decision? Sounds like you have. Can you mail me, please?

“Financial status and personal assets”
Wo! am tired oh
Don't be tired bro. It's stressful, I get. But just persevere.

If you deduct the money required for your living expenses and schooling, will enough money remain for your sponsor and the rest of his family?

Good day @spectro

If you want to pay tuition and create a Gic account you are going through the sds route(not for Nigerians) which mandates you to
.pay full first year tuition
.proof of Gic of 10,000cad
. Ielts exams

1&2 you can pay your first year tuition fees and create a GIC(this is not mandatory but if you have the funds go ahead) and also show proof of funds all would give your application an edge.

3. Yes the Gic is refundable but an application fees of about 200cad would be deducted.

4.yes you do remember it's an sds stream you don't want to make it sound like you going through that stream or better still pay your fees and present your sponsor statements with this you should be fine.....

I wish you success on your next application

Hope this helps.
Thanks a lot. I appreciate the guidance. I will act accordingly.

Good morning, guys.

I'd like to ask four questions.

1. Is it advisable for me to pay for tuition and create a GIC account in a Canadian bank?
2. Should I pay only tuition and show proof of funds for Nigerian account?
3. Is money recoverable from one's GIC account if a visa refusal later occurs?
4. Do I need to provide Sponsor's statement of account if I have a GIC account and have paid tuition?

Regina gave me admission and I didn't pay school fees! Does it show a redflag?
Not necessarily. Everyone's case is unique. I have ties in Canada. There was no acceptance fee attached to my program either.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by Spectro: 11:40am On Jun 09, 2021
While I await my GCMS note, these are possible reasons for my refusal. For the sake of new applicants, these are the things I did wrong?

I have siblings in Canada who have families. I and my parents are the only ones that reside in Nigeria. I didn't pay tuition fee (there was no acceptance fee attached to my program either). Hence, there could be a 'Purpose of Visit' concern. Could it be he wants to go live with his siblings rather than study?

I am single, mobile (This is not an issue for applicants, unless there are other things to consider, such as what I stated earlier).

I anticipated this, but I underestimated its impact.

I believe if I have to reapply next time, paying tuition is vital. Once GCMS note comes in, I will get a better understanding of what really happened.

I wanna say thank you to everyone here who have been supportive. Your kind words are deeply appreciated. Life is a journey, and moments like these are what make it worthwhile. The little things we do for others, the kind words, the friendly gestures, and the lessons learnt.

I am not new to failure, even though I have experienced great success. I know this is not the end of the road, but an eye-opener and a path to true victory. I will not drown in disappointment, but will be proactive and as quick as the wind.

I pray that those hoping to receive PPRs will get their heart desires. But wherever you are across the world, it's fulfilling your life's purpose that counts. May God continue to strengthen you all and be a blessing in your lives.

Yeah, I had upfront medical examination. It is well with you all.

February 17th - application submitted
Biometrics - I didn’t have to do because I have a visitors visa
Nse request- submitted 25th March although my writing was 5.5 but my total average was 7.
Medical upfront -updated to pass on may 19th like after a month.
6th June: I ordered for my gcms notes.
Eligibility review started between June 4 and June 8 because I got tired of check my application everyday.
June 9: Bvl and original passport request.

I want to thank all of you on this platform because you guys are the one that kept me going through your advices and experiences.
To all those awaiting ppr, keep your head up, it will surely land.
Congratulations! It has ended in praise.

Please rejoice ooo, because it is not easy.

The long wait has been rewarded.

I got a refusal though, for home ties both in Canada and Nigeria. Apparently, my ties in Canada are way more than those in Nigeria. I will order GCMS note. I may reapply or opt for the US. But US is priority right now.

I wish you all a delightful outcome in your applications. We learn every day, and some experiences are worthwhile, even though they are a bit sad. But we move!

I applied on March 11 by the way.

March folks will be getting decisions. Stay blessed.
