iampaulsmith: Hi guys. A big thank you to everyone that has congratulated me, I pray your day of celebration will come soon.
So I started lectures back in January online at the University of Calgary. I completed the first semester in April and school is on break till fall. Here is my timeline.
Applied: 19th October 2020 Biometric Request: 20th October 2020 Biometric Completed: 3rd November 2020 Upfront Medical Completed: 25th November, 2020 NSE Request Letter: 26th November 2020 (ignored the NSE request and the long wait started) Eligibility review started: 30th November, 2020 Upfront Medical passed: 2nd December 2020 Additional Document Requested: 29th March 2021 They requested for the following documents. Confirmation of Payment of Tuition Fees Current Student Record of Courses in Session (because I kept sending mails that I had started classes online) Proof of Enrolment for Next Semester Document Submitted: 30th March 2021 BVL & PPR: 26th May, 2021
Something happened that I will like to add just in case it happens to anybody. So back in February, my eligibility review that had started in November went back to "we will let you know when we start reviewing your eligibility". I was shocked and clueless (kon see tension). Before then my gcms note was on recommend interview so I ordered for another gcms instantly and kept sending mail/webform. About two weeks after that incident, it changed again to "We are now reviewing..." When I received the note, the eligibility section was blank. Later in April, I applied for another note and I got it in May, it came as recommend interview again...toooor
Omooo IRCC legit taught me patience and how to pray better. I don’t pray anyone experiences this type of delay. My application took 32 weeks but I thank God it has ended in praises. I can’t wait to celebrate with you all soon enough. The comforting and satiating part is finally overcoming all the hurdles after such an ordeal. Congratulations!!! May God reward your journey abundantly. |

demure178: I saw this, does it mean the procedural fairness was an error, because I declared the us refusal and there isn’t a charge back, cuz money was paid personally Someone should please check the attached image and explain. Thanks Edited Bro, I had to carefully study this your note, and I observed the sequencing. It seems the entered in error preceded the PFL, so it's hard to tell if it is a cancelation of their request. I will let other members give their review. (Be that as it may, be thankful you responded accordingly to their request) |

Jeff5gold: Forgive me, I have to counter some of your point. I am 22 and I got my visa approved I did my application on my own so I believe my points will be kull 1.he may not have stated that he is unemployed since 2016 In his LOE...but The VO must have observed it in the Form you will be required to fill for what you have been doing for the past 10 years.
2. I may agree with you on that
3. He may explained all that in his LOE
4.there is no point explaining home ties.....the family information form is enough to score your home ties. I didn’t bother mentioning home ties in my LOE.
Note. I already have a BSC in microbiology biology but I applied for a post secondary diploma program in Environmental protection technology (this course is really needed in Nigeria) . There is no university in Nigeria offering Environmental protection technology (I noted this in my LOE)
I advise anyone who want to apply for a course to look at What Nigeria need before choosing a program. Okay sir. Thank you for your contribution. I only explained what was clearly stated in the note. |

To whom it may concern
This message is for those who have children in primary and secondary schools. When you travel to Canada (Or if you are already in Canada), you will discover that it is practically impossible to get a home tutor for your child who is schooling. You also get to work most of the time, so you may hardly find time to tutor your children. But guess what, I am building a system that will tutor your children... It's all automated. Your children will have access to video lessons, lesson notes, and computer based tests which they may use to improve their academic performance and experience. At Tklesson, you (the parents) will be given your children's report cards (soft copy or hard copy), transcripts, and even academic certificates. Your children will have access to quarterly competitions every year, where they will have an opportunity to win awesome cash prizes. Your children will also take examinations each term and get 'cgpas' for their effort. Their progress will be emailed to you. And guess what, for the sake of humanity, it goes for a monthly subscription of 20 dollars. The system is still being built, but our academic program will begin on September 9 this year (First term). I would have posted the link to the website, but like I said, the system is under construction at the moment. If you are interested, please follow Tklesson on Instagram, where you will be getting plenty of updates concerning our imminent program. https://www.instagram.com/tklesson_global/Or send your email to tklesson01@gmail.com (along with the word 'interested', so that I can send you updates closer to the date of the program).

allisgood: Just received my gcms notes , applied dec 18, did biometric and upfront medical, no nse, submitted some forms late, got the refusal letter last week, the notes are shown below, please house kindly advise on what to do Bro, everything has been stated in the GCMS. So these are the things you did wrong. 1. You stated you've been unemployed since 2016... Red flag. 2. You got admission for a business related course, which has absolutely no connection with your previous educational study or previous job... Red flag. 3. You didn't specify how studyiing at that University will be worth the expense, since there are local alternatives in Nigeria... Red flag. 4. You didn't specify any hometie. Since you are single, you should have looked for a way to richly explain your ties to Nigeria... Red flag. If you apply next time, please address all four points sufficiently. May God guide you. |

Kayyyy: Landing gist!! From Abuja to Toronto using Ethiopian airline; My flight was on the 17th of May by 1:35pm but I got to the airport by 9:15 to check in and prepare myself for excess luggage (which at the end, I didn’t get)
At the Abuja airport; they asked for; Passport, with stamped study visa Enrollment letter COVID test Hotel quarantine plans Flight ticket.
Little advice; you could wrap your luggage at the airport cause of change of aircraft to about tear or manhandling of your luggage. I think it’s 500 naira per baggage. To be honest, the food served on Ethiopian airline wasn’t bad for me, we were served basmati rice with either beef, chicken or curry sauce.
At Addis Abba I was only asked for my passport and boarding pass. Lay over was 2 hours. We stopped at Dublin for refuel but we didn’t get down from the plane. We were there for like an hour and 30 mins or so.
On our way to Canada, we were given 3 different forms to fill, which they asked for at the Canadian immigration center at the Pearson airport.
At the Toronto airport, asked for my passport and for me to drop my face mask so they could see my face, and give the reason for my trip. Then moved to a different side, where I was asked for enrollment letter, the forms I filled on the plane, COVID test result, ArriveCAN, admission letter.
One of the forms was signed and stamped. Then I moved to immigration side where I was asked questions like why I am in Canada, name of school, course, previous education, school fees receipt, passport, filled forms, enrollment letter. After everything my passport was stamped and I was given the official study permit. And they explained things like I am legible to work for some hours per week, and when the study permit will expire and co.
Went down stairs, got my luggage, then signed up for health switch for COVID test. Took a covid test and was given a personal COVID test kit to be taken on Day 8 of quarantine. Then hotel buses came to pick us from the airport depending on our individual hotels. Like 6 in the bus. I booked Crowne plaza, I paid $950 (USD) cash at the hotel. Will be leaving the hotel tomorrow morning ( done with quarantine).
So that’s it. God bless you for this. |

They have now uploaded my medical result.
Medical examination happened on 21st April.
Medical updated to pass today.
I sent email to Lagos Canadian Visa office four days ago. I did so after emails to Nairobi yielded no result.
We should endeavor to send emails to both Nairobi and Lagos, because no one knows which office may act on them.

Is it possible for me to send an additional documents (bank statement) in support of my SOP I submitted on 11th May? If yes how can I upload the statement as additional document. Jeff5gold: (Could it be that applicant made some claims in his SOP that may have come to bite him?).......I think this is the reason for these reasons Not sure, although it could be the case (as I did not read the SOP). But based on what I infer from his explanation, he omitted a vital document that provoked further curiosity from the VO. As a self-sponsor, one must show not only sufficient funds, but proof of sources of funds, their inflows and outflows, etc... He omitted his payslips (and judging by the additional request for employment letter, his employment letter too), but he can resolve that. The VO launched the three-fold demands because he has concerns about his source of income. The whole accommodation and tuition ish would have been avoided if, from the start, he had included his payslips and a very good explanation for why money is constantly moved from his salary account to another personal account. (He didn't submit his salary account). Submitting his salary account from the start, along with his personal account, would have allayed possible suspicions, since the VO would be able to study both bank statements and come to an understanding that moneys were indeed transferred from one account to the other. It is quite possible that the VO has doubts that the applicant is truly working for the company stated and earns salaries from the company. I want to believe the applicant is telling the truth. Therefore, with all necessary documents, it can be rectified But he has a good lawyer (since he is a licensed immigration lawyer, I want to believe). So I'm sure he's in safe hands. As an adviser, however, I think your lawyer has done a poor job so far. Some documents are very imperative when it comes to Visa application, and your advisor committed a grave oversight. (Which brings me to the question: Can a licensed immigration lawyer be this inept, or is there something you are not saying?) Either way, my prayers are with you. I wish for you the very best experiences in life, just as much as I wish for myself. |

Jeff5gold: I believe they are about to approve this application but the only thing stopping them is those documents....thank God he/she wasn’t rejected instantly......but the 15days time frame is too short. Maybe the applicant is also a self sponsor If you read the applicant's concerns, you will understand that this is a very dicey situation. Applicant has not paid full tuition fee. He is expected to do that in 15 days. Applicant has no receipt of rented accommodation in Canada. He is expected to rent a place in 15 days. Applicant's salary account is empty. Perhaps, there's a good explanation for this, but hopefully it's a very good one. These are concerns for the Applicant, and he needs guidance on how to go about them. (Could it be that applicant made some claims in his SOP that may have come to bite him?) I really pray he figures out a way to resolve the pending issues. |

peruxie: Guys I was sent this today...how can I tackle the 3rd part as there is no way I can pay the full tuition and accommodation when I am not guaranteed an approval. Also, my salary account is always empty as the statement is being asked for. Bro, I'd like to read the SOP you submitted, if you don't mind. It will allow me gain a better perspective of what may actually be going on. And I may be able to give you an idea based on my observation. |

My application is similar to yours. By logic, eligibility review should have started for you. It's possible eligibility review is running underground. These IRCC people are not efficient. Don't fret over ghost updates, no updates, etc. You can place an order for GCMS note if you wish. And then, you may wait for their final decision.

buckyfof: Why is this always your first question, I know there are lots of fraudulent agents out there but there are also good ones too.
And some of these mistakes can be traced directly to IRCC, it’s just that we really don’t have any choice than to take what they give us. The way IRCC treat Nigerians is just not good enough. They dare not treat Indians or Europeans this way. This is the same way they said someone’s dad bank account was fraudulent and the person had to run around by getting another verification from the bank, the funny thing was the bank assured him the first one they sent was good without error. Why do they do this to us Which is why it is advisable for everyone to use MBS. I think MBS is more believable to these folks who evaluate other people's applications. I am deeply hurt by the shitty ways some people have been treated. Some guy here was rejected after eight good months of application... If that's not shitty, I don't know what is. Some people have reported some disturbing stories about decisions by these folks. I sense nonchalance and poor management with VOs vetting naija applicants. If they are going to reject folks, they should do it as swiftly as possible. But it is well. There are better days ahead for you all, irrespective of the decision outcomes. |

Baggiomarrio: Please guys look at the letter Do what you have to do bro, just as everyone has advised. And never fret. Put it in God's hand. Defend yourself in your letter of explanation and send an MBS. You can have the bank send a letter for your defense to that effect too. If God is with you, the devil can't do shit. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Spectro: 5:20pm On May 18, 2021 |
My candid advice to all those waiting for IRCC Visa application decision.
I have observed that they are reviewing older applications such as those from October all the way to January, while also reviewing some February applications.
I suspect there's backlog.
Seems like decision time may be longer than we all thought... (I mean for March, April, and May applicants).
Hence, it is advisable that you completely take your mind off it and do something productive.
I am a very busy man with multiple projects and personal businesses. Canada is not my God. Do not make it your God. If God wants it to pull through, it will, and there is nothing the devil can do about it. And if it's not God's will, then search for God's will.
Don't make life unnecessarily hard for yourself. Focus on doing the will of God and be productive.
Canada is just another country... It's not Heaven.
May God's will be done. |
