Magnifik18: It all depends on the size of your household.
I'll give you an instance of my parents.
Since time immemorial, my parents would draw a comprehensive list of all that's needed in the house- strictly provisions- from cooking oil to bath soap, washing detergents, bag of rice, beans, yam, garri, milk, cereals, you name it.
My dad would give my mom cash based on estimate to go get all these things - wholesale -These will be kept in storage.
The above is done some times once in 3 months. It really depends on the consumption rate.
Then, every month, he would give 50k (back then)for meat, fish bread and basics. It covers the month's feeding.
As naira began to loose value, the monthly increased.
This method is being practiced by all my siblings that are married : Guys and ladies.
So, it all depends on the agreement btwn your wife and you.
I hope this helps.
Bros... This doesn't apply anymore forget that thing... All this ladies claiming right with each passing day....
It's good when you to spend on your home and be the Head... However give a woman some little sense of entitlement... To spend sometimes.
If your dad had gone broke.. I am sure your mum would have still stayed.... Try going broke now and see you yeye on social media.
For me the way I run my home. We have our utility account which we make sure has enough every month. Irrespective of whoever put money there. I don't even know how much is in the account. I am sure she doesn't too... We just made it like some kind of piggy accounts but for bills.
This doesn't stop me or her from buying things we need in the house... With our individual money.... Morealso we have access to each others accounts. Not to go in and take without permission oo... But just a sense of being free with one another.
On the flip side... Things like school fees... House rent... Should not elude you.. You as man should make it your responsibility. Even if your wife is capable too.
Hmm... It's good to be educated oo... Education is beyond going to school...
So people still do monthly allowances na wa oo... See as poverty dey call you.
What happened to having Joint account... For the running of home if she is working...
All you both need is the bugdet on domestics.... Food... And utilities... School fee and all... Commit yourselves to saving a certain amount in a month in the Joint account amidst all other joint investments.
This doesn't stop you two from individual investments and savings either.
Abeg which ever woman compel you to give up keep... Pls run... I said runnnnnn. You won't grow! In fact both of you won't grow.
What about if I die.... How will you survive... You will now become a subbing widow... "ha if my husband was alive" Abeg oo if you are a woman waiting for a man upkeep you will lose big time.
jamjo: The old and the recycled politicians whom you know and will vouch for, please tell Nigerians what they have done for you and Nigerians ? This mentality that we can't think big and aspire big has really made me agree that Nigeria is a country of dream killer. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result can never happen.
My brother... If you want to be a leader you must start from somewhere... You can never start from the top... Except your father has paved that way.
Let sowere start from where we can see him.
Abiola that was being loved by majority worked his ass before he was trusted. We need a dependable leader that has shown us how far he has come and what his dreams for us is like.
Well.. As long as the youth don't want to start little.. To be honest we will keep seeing the old recycled bigots.
We need someone we did have trust in his knowledge on economy and all... We need someone who his humble and put Nigeria on a map of greatness not despirados.
For now we need one Technocrat... Who can then pave way for a political trust and stability.
KOPT33: Hi, I would really like to understand what is wrong with the headline. As a writer I find it to be passable for digital media but cannot lay my fingers on the 'unprofessionalism' you spoke of.
Could you please explain, I will really appreciate it. Thank you.
To be honest nothing is wrong with the caption... But it's misleading... Because the new generation of people has no patience.
Reason for the "Concise headlines" media houses are now adopting.
vioment: Broda, u are making very valid indisputable points. My only reminder to you is that naija is a whole is rotten in a very bad way, this one no be repackaging matter, this one na start afresh mata. The universities in the south from lagos to ph have failed nigerians. This is a case of where the northerners don't even try to improve their educational competence while the southerners from lagos to ph have been fronting their failed educational competence with enough blame to go around. My point is we are in trouble but instead of solving our trouble, we are apportioning blame over and over again. Even if the north and the south separate, if the north is successful, they deal with immigration from the south, and vice versa. We owe it to ourselves to help ourselves on this our ship on the high seas.
My main problem with the north is the religious intolerance. With the south, we have numerous problems; we also have stark illiterates parading themselves as graduates when all man know say na runz level dem use pass any homework talkless of exams.
What do you expect from a country with least budget in Education... Everything about our schools are obsolete.... No innovation... No valid research to prove and develop thesis... You are forgetting one thing... The south south have no power to improve on the Sector because Nigeria leaders never cared about education... And who are the majority of Nigeria leaders? Northerner!
So when u look at everything that could be wrong in Nigeria don't look any further... The North it is.
vioment: I am not from the north but abeg, no let breeze just carry that hypocrisy everywhere. It is true that the northern parts of nigerian youths don't pursue their education even from the primary and secondary level, but make we no deceive ourselves because yes the southern parts go through primary and secondary education and persevere, but at the university level, the south is rubbish when it comes to education. In the south, university level is to learn criminality or should i say practice all forms of criminiality. With all the south's education, nigeria cannot produce light, we don't have the technology for water cleanliness and uses; our security approaches is not creative, i mean nothing to write home from the education. At least the north still leads africa in some farming like tomatoes. I know and wish the north steps up but the southern parts of naija needs to clean the scales in their eyes.
Let me tell the Truth the desperation you see from the southern youth is mostly caused by the North.
Nigeria has turn to what it is today... Not because people don't have goals... But because the society they live in has no plan for them.
Also when you are being dictated by the Northern illirate that what do you expect.... Have you ever seen someone who scored admission with 29, what am saying "5" in jamb with 4 Passes in waec go to the university in the north and they still come out to get the best of the depts in the country.
You can smell civilazation from Aba to onitsa... You can smell growth from Lagos to Ibadan and abeokota.
People are ready to live and grow.
But north will never allow that.
They call your growth Cheating...
They call it stupid...
Because the elite never want anyone to outshine them.
vioment: You have good factual points. It is shame because if naija had been a serious knowledgable nation, then those points would be pointless because we can win them in every one of those facts you pointed out. Anyway sha na dream i dey. Naija wey olodo as a society, like top 20 in olodo department.
The truth is Nigeria has all the potential that can compete with anything in the world.... But do you know why we can't get there?
The North! They still live in stone age thus kept draging the Nation backward.
With the North still in the picture Nigeria will never move forward.
Stop cuddling a wild... You will get infected. I hope you sanitized that hand very well. Morealso that animal is not worth keeping except you have a place to train a wild.
It's a bush baby family... Potto's clan. (it's a baby)
Amitez: There is no harm in self deception or consolation!! Guess you not yet aware your lord and saviour "sai Barberism" is withdrawing from the race? You are not aware that the BrettonWood Club who loaned Buhari Trillions have asked him to step down? They have seen how he crumbled a thriving economy and cannot tolerate him any further. They are the ones pushing Saraki to run. You think Bloomberg did not see other presidential candidates before going to interview Saraki? Keep dreaming that sai barber is coming back to keep paying you N30k.
So you believe anyone of those PDP aspirants will be come Nigeria President Ehehehehrhrh. In fact even if this assertion is your opinion... I clearly fault it.
Morealso do you think SARAKI will ever smell the presidential seat? With his snake like attitude. A lot of people even from PDP "will block him already"
thesicilian: They won't hear. They will adamantly claim that anywhere else is better than Nigeria, until they get they and find out that the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.
Heywhizzy: which record,he is the trending rapper at the moment, doesn't mean he is the best rapper in Africa.. Is Drake in anyway better than Eminem or JayZ because he is the rave of the moment, HELL NO(Nasty C's voice)
The whole world knows Nasty C is better than MI... There is nothing spectacular about MI anymore. We are just encouraging him the way we encourage Mode 9
