The ongoing Psquare crisis has undoubtedly been the recurring subject matter in the Nigerian entertainment scene. Their breakup tales has been a recurring story in the last 24 months.

During their previous rifts, no one ever made the move of signing a personal deal with another record label as the bond was intact then. Peter’s recent new record deal hints at the eventual ‘death’ of the brand Psquare

Peter’s grouse stems from the fact that he is being overlooked in the song writing department and so there has always been this huge need for him to prove himself as a song writer.

In his words: “I’ve been a creative person and I haven’t stopped till today. I’m very creative person but people still look at me as a dancer. It hurts but at the end of the day, I still remain a creative person,” he said in 2016 when Psquare separated for some months.

“There’s no challenges. I’ll do my best, It is something I always wanted. Now I’m on my own, I’ll do what I always wanted. I was limited before but now I’m good.”

Following accusations by Nollywood actress, Caroline Danjuma that Davido has a hand in Tagbo’s death; this has drawn a myriad of reactions from his fans.




Recall that Caroline Danjuma took to social media to boldly accuse pop star, Davido and his crew of dumping the dead body of a certain Tagbo at a General Hospital after he died mysteriously on his birthday.

We were more than fifty individuals who thronged into the Silverbird Cinema hall on Friday 23rd of September to see Dance to my beat, a new flick produced by the beautiful Nollywood actress, Mary Lazarus. The film sets off with the right dose of humour from the beginning to the very end. As we stepped out of the cinema hall, one of the viewers of the movie said: “ I didn’t even know when the movie ended, Nigerians will definitely love this movie”.

Aso-ebi is a unique fabric worn in special ceremonies by family members and friends to symbolize unity and
support. Culturally, it originated from the ‘Yorubas’ in the Western part of Nigeria. It was meant primarily to give support to anyone, who had an event such as wedding, birthday, burial or any landmark anniversary that was celebrated.

In Dance to my beat, Lamide and Raymond converted their wedding Aso-Ebi into a business opportunity selling it for an exorbitant price. The money generated from the sales enabled them moved into a highbrow part of town they couldn’t maintain. As the world celebrates Fela Kuti’s 20 years memorial anniversary, recalling his indelible contributions to world music, It is sad that his shoes are yet to be filled.

I have attended several comedy shows this year. Many of such shows reek of average jokes, same artiste line-up and nothing exceptional to look forward to.

For Kenny Blaq’s show, I nursed my own secret fears hoping that the talented youngster will not join the throng of comedians who do the same old jokes and package them in a comedy show. These shows can be likened to an attractive wall painting that is beautiful from afar but gets you frustrated on closer inspection.

Kenny Blaq didn’t disappoint. I am still stunned at the way he weaved jokes into popular Nigerian hit songs. He took it a step further, performed with a live band with backup vocalists and re-enacted his jokes on stage using some actors who played their roles well.

Agbor made this statement when asked If a man has ever dumped her for someone else. She said:” If a girl can snatch your man, that man wasn’t yours in the first place. Its good riddance to bad rubbish. It has never happened to me, but there has been an attempt. No lady can get snatch my man, I know my onions"

“A good script will keep you engrossed from the beginning to the end. That is what I want to do, a story that has a lesson. There is no need to do a movie that has no moral lesson. Acting is make-believe and you are telling a story that has a particular lesson .Every good story should have a moral lesson” she said.
