I will bend if our owner release such amount
Don't go curse yourself for nothing. We are playing UCL next season and the owners know that to remain relevant we will spend big. It's not like they must spend 400m but that's the max limit.

The actual amount is 400million but stop announcing it so that clubs will not know that we have money.

I like your submissions.there are various situations where parts of the constitution or some laws are absurd and ridiculous and the courts interpret it in the simplest possible manner.the apex court usually favour incumbents heavily in their rulings if you examine their rulings for instance in buhari cert issue, gov lalong, ayade and abiodun's qualifications and several others.only uzodinma was able to outsmart them.

Concerning shettima case, the best reference will be uche nwosu vs app.again,it seems the electoral act has been amended to replace disq with imprisonment as a penalty for double nomination.moreover, the appeal court recently dismissed the case saying pdp does not have locus.
Looking at the merits, the intendment is to prevent someone from being a candidate for two different posts or better still contest two different primaries.shettima contested only one primary not two.he resigned from the Senate on the 6th and was nominated for vp on 14th.as of when inec published the initial and final lists of candidates,he was having one nomination.again,it seems that the case is a pre election matter that should have been brought two weeks after publication of names
I think he submitted his withdrawal letter a day after his nomination which should disqualify him. However, I will go with your point that it's a pre-election matter and probably the court may also see it as an internal affair.

True, the supreme court starts a judgment interpretation with literal interpretation and fortunately, all texts or referrals about Nigeria's component units say 36 states and fct which the framers meant innocently.if theres no ambiguity, we won't be here arguing.the apex court will simply choose the least ambiguous interpretation
My brother, there's nothing ambiguous except when we want to push our own opinions.

The law is written is simple and clear English.

Whatever issues you have with 25% in FCT is the same issue with 25% in 24states. This is because, the northern regions have more states than the south. The SE for example have just 5states which becomes a disadvantage for a south eastern when constesting with someone from the north west for example that has 7states.

The fact is that no matter our biases, agenda, and personal opinions which may be honest intentions, the law can only be interpreted in black and white with eyes closed.

I bow to your submission that the SC will do justice to the law.

On a separate note my friend, what do you think about Shettima's double nomination?

I dont write based on emotions thats why I am the best analyst here.the judiciary interpret the laws and in their interpretation apply commonsensical and they do what we call judicial lawmaking by rewriting it through interpretation.the supreme court has stated that once theres ambiguity in the constitution, they choose the one that makes more sense for the framers and lawmakers do not intend to create absurdity or confusion..
Literal interpretation is the first step. And please what's ambiguous about that ortion of the law except that people just want to push their personal opinion and agenda.

Actually, votes are equal and theres equity also among states.as fae as no state is mandatory, abuja too isn't.in any case, the apex court will do the needful
Your problem is that you try to use your emotions and logic to interpret the law which shouldn't be. The law is stated in simple English and a literal interpretation is first required before you begin to consider other points.

You didn't write the law so stop telling us what you think. It's not about what you or I think, it's what the law says that matters.

Personally I would not want FCT to be mandatory. But my personal opinion does not count in the interpretation of law.

If votes are equal, fct won't be mandatory.the president can sit anywhere and rule not necessarily the fct.instead, the law will say the president mustvwin fct as the head.
Exactly. Votes are not equal and so FCT is mandatory. There's a difference between equal and equity. What the constitution demands is equity not equality.

With 150m prepared for arteta to sign more players
We still need to sell
Outgoings
Xhaka he had a very good season but one moment on madness always ruin it
If we can't sell him atleast he should be a squad player
Holding must go, he's not arsenal level I have nothing else to say
Mari we are collecting 6m from Monza not a bad deal I think we got him for 8m or so
Elneny abeg release him or integrate him to coaching crew
AMN please release him
Balogun unless we sell nketiah I don't think we need balogun, we should sell him and put buy back clause
Patino, azeez, and that mexican that went to la Liga 2 please sell them all
Tavarez if tear knee is going tavarez is a good back up I still believe in him especially with the kind of defence we have
Tomi should be a back up or we sell him and get walker peters/Tariq/Aaron's
Nelson should go abeg I no too trust the guy especially when I remember Sancho and they grew up together e they always vex me
Peperempe we have to put him on jiji or Amazon to get a buyer🤣🤣
Viera should go on loan with option to buy
ESR arteta should decide his plan with the lad

Incoming
Rice I do t like this guy, I don't think he's worth 100m atleast 50m angry
Lavia or caicedo is better alternative or d.sow of Frankfurt
We need a winger to compete with saka badly
We need another RCB
We should try to get vlahovic I think we need him now
I trust edu and arteta to spend wisely atleast their transfers have been 8/10
Any update on tielemans and the Frankfurt defender that's coming on free transfer?
The bolded got me laughing. 😂

If we follow your thoughts then you are asking for a major transformation of the team. I think that will be gross. This is a team that will finish at least second in the league this season, that's if they don't win it.

I think we only need to upgrade our first eleven with two or max three players and then add some quality to the bench.

I'll keep Partey, Jorginho and Xhaka (and release them for free) but as backups. I'd get Caicedo and Rice (or any other decent player like Lavia or that guy from Sporting Lisbon).

Balogun is a decent striker. I'll keep him to fight for shirt with Nketiah and Jesus. There will be plenty games next season plus injuries. Except we are going to spend big to get a striker like Osimhen, I don't think there's point selling Balogun.

I'll like a RW left footie, Arteta wants Diaby who is OK. Keep Nelson, he is good for LW. Keep ESR, I learnt Arteta is coaching him to play Xhaka's role.

Keep Patino, Azeez and Duberry. Keep them all 😂

As for Tavares, it will depend on if Arteta will consider tactical switch. But I'd say keep him.

The players I want out are Holding and Vieira.

Making 25% in fct mandatory means elevating fct above all other states.if votes were equal, the constitution would have required the president getting 25% in all the states or in at least 25 states inclusive of fct.
If votes were equal, then only a simple majority of votes should guarantee winning an election. There's a reason spread is critical. That spread also affects FCT, because the president shall be it's administrative head.

The FCT is not a state. It is the seat of the president. That is why your child will tell you 36states and capital. For you to be president you need 25% in 2/3 of 36states and 25% in the capital - your seat of power.

This is a product of bad governance by the APC government. There are unprecedented insecurity in every part of the country. The worst will happen if Tinubu is sworn in as he cannot lift a broom not to talk of secure the nation. Call them IPOB, bandits, herdsmen or whatever you like, all is insecurity.

A country where thugs like MC Oluomo can threaten people from elections and police calls it a joke, what do you expect?

A country where the CP escorts INEC REC to announce fake results what do you expect?

A country where a known drug baron is rigged into power, what do you expect?

Our debt profile is one of the lowest in the world at 40-45% of our GDP. Most advanced world has a debt to GDP ratio of over 100%.

What we have is a revenue problem, how to raise revenue and ensure that the revenue is being put to good use.

There’s nothing wrong with borrowing if you can account for what you used the funds to do and a reasonable structure to repay the loans.
The bolded is a very reasonable and convincing thought. But that's the problem.

Whoever will ask for more spending should be able to convince Nigerians and make it open information about what you have stated in the bolded.

For example, Buhari has not convinced me at all with what he has done so far. So why should I trust another APC person?

You have to be ignorant to say the allegations against Obi are foolish when his right hand man and blood brother were convicted for drugs trafficking. Obi just happened to be the lucky one who didn’t get caught. And the same is applicable to Tinubu.

Tinubu isn’t a saint but he’s more qualified than Obi and when he talks - you can hear a man who knows what he’s talking about.

Conversely, Obi is hard to listen to and he’s clueless about what he’s talking about 99% of the time. Obi is just there to make up the number as an Igbo man. That’s good and dandy if he’s contesting to rule Biafra. But in a country as diverse as Nigeria with different interests - Obi isn’t qualified. He’s better off as a trader.
I gave you facts you responded with an opinion.

Someone asked how hard is it to convince a brainwashed person to change his mind, like those people who their pastor asked to starve to death to get to heaven.

I can't convince you.

But unless there's really something personal that you will gain from the Tinubu presidency, I will ask you to consider a change of thoughts.

Forget about Peter Obi, it's not about him. It's about democracy, freedom, justice, fairness, conscience.

We can’t be spending so low and then expect accelerated development.
Even in my house, I don't question how high or low spending is. What I question is the value. What value has Nigerians gained from what has been spent to ask for increased spending?

The general fear is that of corruption and opportunity to steal. Besides, increasing spending will mean increasing budget and also increasing borrowing. Our debt profile is very scary.

Bros there’s a different between government spending and government borrowing.

In fact there’s no restriction for government borrowing except you want to borrow from the CBN as the last resort, that’s where there’s a restriction to 5% of your last year revenue. And that’s what Buhari broke.

What Tinubu is proposing is to remove restriction on government spending. During every year budget presentation, there’s also a finance policy that goes along with that budget which most times is always under the short term or medium term expenditure framework. This framework sets a cap on what the government can spend which is usually a % of the GDP or Revenue.

You can read this world bank article that was released last year on why Nigeria needs to remove the restrictions on government spending.

https://www.worldbank.org/en/news/feature/2022/11/21/nigeria-needs-to-spend-more-and-better
With our very high corruption levels and the lack of character trust of the incoming president, would you suggest unlimited spending?

But you can’t hold anything against a man who was never convicted.

Obi was also involved in drugs trafficking but I will never call him a drug lord because he was never convicted.

If you do the crime and don’t get caught - you’re as clean as a whistle.

The game is the game.
The stories of Peter Obi being a drug lord is as foolish as it sounds. If there was any faintiest iota of truth about it, I trust APC to even overblow it till it bursts.

But here, everyone accepts that Tinubu benefited from drug trafficking. Even if that was years ago, it meant he should never be president at least for posterity. That's even ignoring his other antecedents like thuggery, state theft, election rigging, false identity, certificate issues, etc.

No man with a good conscience will support Tinubu to be president when there are far better options.
