Mourinho gonna Mourinho.

Congratulations to Manchester United but I must admit that you guys have a very arrogant manager.

Beating Juve and taunting their fans as if he already won the champions league undecided

Very arrogant bastard.

You won't see Sari, Klopp, Emery and Guardiola engage in all these childish antics that Mourinho does everytime he wins a big game undecided

These are mature managers that stay humble, keep their head down and do their jobs.
They don't talk too much or create controversy like Mourinho.

Mourinho is proud, hot headed and arrogant.

That is why he keeps loosing his jobs.

Guardiola is ten times better than this arrogant peacock who hasn't won a single trophy since 2016 undecided
Of all these coaches you mentioned there, only Guardiola and Emery (winner of Europa League back to back to back) can sit ont he same table with Mourinho. Sarri and Klopp are not even qualified to tie the shoelaces on Mourinho's shoes.

I will never forget how he taunted FC Barcelona in 2010 after knocking them out of the ucl.
Rightly so, because they derisively called him "the interpreter". Barca coach at the time was Late Bobby Robson, and Mourinho was the 3rd coach in line, but usually interpreted the instructions from Robson to the rest of the Barca team and coaches.

So yes, he had a right to taunt them. Also, when he was coach at Inter, there was evidence that Juventus was already bribing referees as part of widespread match-fixing for which they were relegated to the 2nd division. Yet with referees awarding Juventus shady penalties the whole season, Mourinho still came out tops with Inter.

The childish sulker is talking nonsense. Man U took control of the game from the 75th minute and the goals resulted from pressure mounted by Man U. Rashford could have added a third with a more composed finish.

Massimo Allegri should have noticed that Man Utd is now a comeback team: the Newcastle, Chelsea, Bournemouth games should have been eye openers.

As for CR7, he is a self-serving sentimental bastard. He is lucky it was not the old format: Juve would have lost out on the away goals rule.

You're a very moral individual, don’t let anyone make you feel wrong on this. It was immoral in so many ways posting the police man’s situation online. Like you stated, they could have taken their footage to many higher authorities in Nigeria it hey are that concerned for standards (not that snitching in itself is any kind of unquestionable standard). The intention was to mock out of hatred of your police not to encourage better policing in Nigeria. The type of people that did this are similar in sentiment to those that would see a homeless woman sleeping beside an open sewer, take a long stick to her wrapper, expose her underwear , film and post online for a laugh. Don’t be intimidated by their harsh writing, they are doing the equivalent of shouting to drown the voice of their conscience.
Do you know why Oscar Pistorius had his sentence increased? It is because he had a history of irresponsible firearm use. He had discharged it once in a packed restaurant. You cannot have a MOPOL (equivalent of SWAT in the US) carrying a military-grade firearm behaving so irresponsibly.

If someone like this is not dismissed, this would repeat itself in the future and he may discharge his firearm inappropriately. The IGP acted responsibly by preventing the possibility of future deaths from this mofo MOPOL.

Christianity EtcRe: Would It Still Be Tithe If I Pay It To Someone In Need Rather Than The Church? by stagger: 8:18am On Nov 04, 2018
Tithe is paid to the church where you receive spiritual instruction. It is not paid to the needy and certainly not paid to a pastor or man of God.

Giving is a 5-fold ministry.
a) Tithe - 10% of your increase or income.

From your 90%, you can then give as follows:

- to your parents
- to a man of God (prophetic offering), which ideally is given once in a while.
- to the poor and needy.
- chruch offering during services.

Of these last 4, giving to your parents in my mind should carry more weight than giving to the poor or prophetic offering.

Paying your tithe comes with a blessing only God can give, which is protection of your finances (rebuking the devourer). A poor man cannot offer that.

It is better you ask God for yourself and receive an answer in that regard.

Every state in Nigeria can adequately pay 22,500 minimum wage with the right attitude and with governors who will not collect bribes like Ganduje.

My grandmother, someone that is in Nigeria and its peculiarities, is a petty trader. Despite the troubling persistence of her children and grandchildren, she insists on doing that -petty-trading and farming. When she heard that N10,000 was going to be given to them, the petty traders, her response was a laughter and, in our native language, "what will N10,000 do for me? They should use the money and fix the roads leading to the market..."

I suspect this opinion of hers would be shared by others in her group. Perhaps their worries might not be roads; perhaps it might be hospitals. I suspect the Abacha siphoned millions -over $323million according to a report I read- might just be enough to help towards that need. Granted, it would not give the government the PR win it wants, as a N10,000 would do, but it would be sustainable and directly impactful.

Forgive me, but I refuse to think mediocre, regardless of whatever party is in charge. Frankly, I careless about the political parties in Nigeria. They do not pay my bills and Nigeria has actually done nothing for me. However, if Ghana or TChad are building sustainable infrastructures for the categories of persons who might want these social benefits and not dashing out one-time, finite financial gifts, why not Nigeria?

Meanwhile just today:

You cannot n-power your way out of this
You cannot Trader Moni your way out of this
You cannot anchor borrower your way out of this
You cannot ‘self sufficiency’ your way out of this
You cannot share Abacha loot your way out of this
You cannot do conditional cash transfer ur way out of this
You cannot graciously approve pension your way out of this
You cannot ergp your way out of this
You cannot vaids your way out of this
You cannot VOARS your way out of this

You can only sustainably grow your way out of this. This is basic common sense, basic economics. Nigerians just believe that sharing money, whether legally or illegally, is a solution. No, it isn't.
At this point, I must say I love your engagement on this topic.

But I will have to disagree with you on many grounds.

a) We were told that excess crude proceeds would be saved in a Sovereign Wealth Fund. How much has been saved and how it has been spent; who has given any records, from OBJ to GEJ to PMB?

b) Before the SWF came on board, many governors including the current APC chairman, kept asking for the money to be shared to the states. How much was shared to the states between 1999 and today you and I are talking? If you have the data, please share it.

c) In the last two years, the crude oil price has surpassed the benchmark set by PMB's government. Where has the excess gone, and how much has NNPC been paying as subsidy in the last 18 months?

d) How much has been recovered from those mentioned as having partaken of the Dasukigate arms deal money? What component of this money has been used to procure arms to fight Boko Haram or pay soldiers their daily allowance in our troubled spots?

e) How much money has EFCC recovered from inception to date? What has become of these funds?

f) How many states have given account as to what they have done with the ecological funds given to them?

g) I do not even want to talk about bailout funds.

I can go on and on. But what is my point?

A lot of Abacha's loot has been recovered in the past. Has any government from OBJ's govt till date rendered any account as to what became of these earlier recovered funds which were disbursed to states?

Thank God for your grandmother; she has kids and grandkids who are doing well, so she can afford to continue her petty trading not to make profit, but to keep herself active. She does not need the proceeds of her business.

But there are millions across Nigeria who depend on funds as little as N10,000 for survival of their businesses. For once, a govt has remembered this group of people where others before them have not.

Is this not a good thing?

I make my submission: the latest Abacha loot would have gone the way of others collected. For once, this neglected group of micro business owners have been remembered by the government.

If there is one thing this APC govt has done well, TraderMoni is it. Saying that such money should have been used for projects or development is wishful thinking because you and I know very well, that money would have been embezzled like the rest.

madridsta007:
Dear Poster,

Having a social welfare system most capitalist countries have is not a niche out of socialism, if it is examined critically. The social welfare system and the UK benefits system is a system that is tightly regulated and, despite its challenges, has been successful in propping up a cadre of its populace. I'm sure you know the qualifying criteria. From the jobseekers allowance to the carers and disability benefits the common denominator here are a section of the society who are unable, for some reason or the other, to work. There is a register for this and claimants are tightly monitored.

That one will compare this system to giving out N10,000 to traders, persons that would be more excited when their profit margins isn't hit by bad roads, insecurity, poor transport infrastructure, etc, surprises me. Tell me, considering the double-digit inflation rate, what exactly will N10,000 get a trader?

Of course one would not prefer Abacha's stolen dollars to remain in Swiss Banks. It seems like you have mistook me for someone else. Any educated and right-thinking person would prefer that the money is invested in something that would be sustainable and benefit the traders and the larger populace for a long period of time. Dashing people N10,000 a seemingly Nigerian thing, is mediocre and downright silly.
I am sure you know that every country has its own peculiarities and will therefore have to adapt systems that work in their own environment. There is no country in today's world that is 100% capitalist or 100% socialist.

You mentioned bad roads, bad infrastucture, etc. Please tell me. In a country like ours where insitutions do not work, where corruption is rife and even those who claim to be fighting it are re-inventing corruption in ways never seen before (the Osun elections are a pointer), how long do you think that these traders would have to wait for any kind of succour? Is it when they are dead and buried?

I am not a fan of the APC govt and if you read my thread, I have been critical of their policies. But let us face the facts. This is the very first time that any form of social intervention has been made at the level of the petty traders. YouWIN, TEEP and other programs of past governments were targeted at graduates.

Many of these beneficiaries of TraderMoni have NEVER been to any school. No access to any form of conventional loans. Even the CBN loans are a complete farce. How can a central bank provide money to banks, ask them to lend at 5% or 9% and transfer all the risk to the banks, without guaranteeing these loans? Ask any senior management banker what percentage of all the CBN loans have been accessed. You will be amazed.

Thisi is the 1s attempt to provide money DIRECTLY to those who need it. No ghost names as we saw with NAPEP under OBJ. You and I can sit here and argue about capitalism and socialism forever. We belong to the class of people who went to school and to all intents and purposes, are privileged.

Many families depend on the stipends that come from petty trading, and if for once a government took money that had been stashed away in Swiss banks by a former President and distributed it to these traders, then I will salute them for it and will support it.

This is practical socialism Nigerian-style, which conforms to the principles spelt out in the Communist Manifesto of 1848 as proposed by Marx and Engels. These monies are not handouts, because those who are receiving it already have enterprises they can put the money in.

If you actually knew who I was, these your statements will be absolutely unnecessary.
A consequence of socialism is government handouts. TraderMoni, nPower, etc, are beautifully romanticized names given to handouts.
So you prefer that these funds which were hitherto in the capitalist banking institutions, siphoned there by Abacha's family, remained in those institutions?

Those monies are better off in the hands of the people directly. Afterall, even the most capitalist of countries (the US) has a social welfare system and regular grants subsidies to local business and farmers. Russia had to liquidate its reserves to prop up failing businesses in 2008. The UK also has a social component to its council housing schemes.

So socialism is not such a bad thing is it?

N10,000 or N8,000 it is terrible that Nigeria is sliding into full-scale socialism and fast. Unlike Venezuela, this is not as a result of international sanctions or US sanctions. This is as a result of economic incompetence. It’s that simple.
What is socialism? Have you read any of the books written by Karl Marx or Friedrich Engels?
