There is a difference between the Empire Games (now Commonwealth Games) and the Olympics. Nojim Maiyegun is on record as having won the first Olympic medal for Nigeria. We did not win any more medals until Peter Konyegwachie won a silver in the featherweigh boxing division in the 1984 Olympic games, in a match where he clearly beat Meldrick Taylor but was robbed by the judges, who awarded it 5-0 to Taylor. The 1984 Los Angeles games boxing event was marred by several outrageous judging decisions to favour the American boxers, and Konyegwachie was sadly a victim. I personally watched that match when it was shown on NTA with Fabio Olanipekun of NTA doing most of the coverage of the games as the anchor. It was as a result of the boxing robberies of the 1984 games that the computer scoring system was used to replace the human judging system in the 1988 games till today.

Emmanuel Ifeajuna won a Commonwealth Gold for Nigeria in the 1954 Empire Games. Sadly, as one of the Majors who planned the 1966 coup, he has consistently been overlooked on the honours list. Since when did Igbos start having kings? I am aware that what was available were the Eze Nris who were clan heads. There was no such thing as Kings in Igbo culture. The concept of having Igwes was a borrowed culture. Go and read about why the British preferred to work with Northerners using indirect rule. That in itself, is the basis for the amalgamation of 1914 which we can all see only served a British agenda and was nothing about uniting the tribes that make up Nigeria.

In case you don't know, Britain supplied Gowon with most of the arms that were used in the civil war. After the civil war, they rushed down to the North to build houses and buy Properties. If you have your properties outside Igbo land, then find a way to go home and invest. Lagos state is one of the smallest states by land mass, yet one of the most populated states/cities in Africa. I look at my brothers who say they developed Lagos and it is a no-man's land and I feel like giving them a slap. It is not your state and will never be. Go home and develop the SE, go home and invest. We have the population , we have the resources.

What resources do you have? Do you have a single fighter aircraft or air defense system? If war breaks out, where will you get your supplies from when you are completely landlocked?
