Drabeey:Mr man, I need to ask you a question: Who is responsible for decimating whale populations all over the world? Is it the villagers in Ilaje, or is it Nigerians, or is it the white men who after centuries of relentlessly hunting these animals are now coming to preach conservation? Even Eskimos are allowed to hunt whales in controlled fashion. So I do not see how one whale which washed up ashore and was killed to provide meat for the community in this era of change constitutes primitive behaviour or lack of conservation. Rather, it is the white men who are primitive; hunting animals without caring for their replenishment all these centuries and now coming to preach conservation. We should also be smart and shake off these neo-colonialist ways of thinking. |
anthonypeters:OP, what is the solution? I have a laptop that sometimes freezes and then the noise from the fan no get rival. I usually cure the illness by putting the stuff under ac and it does the trick. Suggestions are welcome. |
Lilimax:Please what is the source of this woman's wealth? Because she had claimed in an interview I read in a magazine in 2007 that she made her money from web designing and hosting at a time when Nigeria did not even have internet connectivity (you had to use NITEL's dial-up at the time which was very slow and noisy). It is just that the area she comes from is kind of backward and she is celebrated. Otherwise in saner climes, a lot of digging would have been done into her past to know how she came about the money she used in building that massive hotel of hers and other property in her 20s. |
cococandy:Another typical Nigerian who just rushes to judgment without getting the facts of the case. The whole thing may even be complete falsehood. As far as nobody that lives with the couple or the couple themselves have not disclosed the facts of the case (assuming there is any) my conclusion is that there are no nudes, no slapping, no packing, no begging. Period! |
So we should tie the Naira to a commodity whose pricing mechanism is out of our control. Hmm. |
A coach is paid to take decisions that will help a team to win. You cannot sacrifice winning just to please all 22 players in a squad. Pundits are paid to talk. Gary Neville found out the hard way in Valencia that being a pundit on TV is very different from being a coach in the trenches. Pundits can say all they want. If Mata is not happy with the new order, he should go back to Spain. By the way, Henrik Mkhitaryan was also German Bundesliga player of the year for 2 seasons in a row, and for me is a more complete player than Mata. So whatever Mata thinks he is not to be substituted, I say he should go take a piss and chill out. |
I don't know what Segun Toriola is doing in Rio 2016 at 41 years of age, playing with his grandchildren. |
Lesgupnigeria:Thanks for this answer. I think the 2nd option is great and I will try it out, because I am not ready to entertain nonsense from any herdsman. I will have their cows killed if they ever enter my land and I do not want to cause a communal clash. |
Mod are u sleeping? Abi u be Man U hater? Com'on change that scoreline my friend! |
Wers:Why not get a Chinese partner? |
victor101:I have to commend your effort here. I hope you can get a good assistant. I got one and the guy is doing wonders for me. To those who took English lessons serious from the primary school days when we used the McMillan English textbooks, this is the payback time. |
Funny enough, as he was performing the run-up, I was scared something would happen. He was running so fast and he landed so badly. Pity. 9 months out. |
Rohr is a face I have seen a few times on TV. Germany has the best developmental football programme in the world. If indeed he can work with young talent and hone them into world beaters, then I am up for this. Look at Lars Lagerback who we brought here and expected to do magic in three months. See what he did with Finland in the Euros, from qualification to the tournament itself. Our people are not patient. They want instant results. This is where our problem lies. |
omokab:Mr Man. as a Christian I will tell you plainly. Pilgrimage is a personal affair and government has no business sponsoring or subsidizing pilgrimage. As a muslim who is expected to fulfill the five pillars of Islam, does government have any business with you praying 5 times, giving alms to the poor, etc? It is your PERSONAL responsibility to yourself as a practicing muslim, the same way any Christian who is going on pilgrimage should assume PERSONAL responsibility for going to Israel without government sponsorship. Let us allow the govt to fulfill its primary mandate and stop wasting money sponsoring pilgrimages. Last time I checked, how much does Israel or Saudi Arabia give to countries that come to spend money doing pilgrimages? This idea of what is good for the goose being good for the gander must stop in Nigeria. Let the goose and gander fend for themselves. |
rawhide:That way you are sure they make the returns for you. |
These other companies do not pay out physical dollars. They simply warehouse the dollars abroad and they pay out to recipients in Naira. These MTOs are the ones creating the problem. They need to get registered and licensed just like the three companies (Moneygram, RIA and Western Union). Then they need to also send the physical dollars down and pay the recipients in dollars, which can then be sold to BDCs. That is the thinking behind the CBN action and I think it should be supported. |
5ircreepy:Red & black:That's for De Norsemen, the Aromates, the Adventurers. MTN colour: that's for the Bucket men (the Alora Sea Lords) White & black: freeing the black man with an axe. I saw them use it to free one guy from this hard knock life one fine afternoon in 1993 somewhere. Time fails me to recall if the Air Lords use blue or green with black. It has been more than 20 years now. Advice: just mind your own business and face your studies. You will be fine. |
Where are these mods when you need them? People are here blatantly breaking rules number 1, 2 and 3 and yet nothing is being said or done about them. These tribalists have no place on an educational thread being opened here. |
In my school days, one popular one in my school was f***ed up right in his father's parlour in a town very far away from school. That hit took everyone by storm. In my zone, a baggar was killed in a drinking joint in the street right next to his parent's house. I know another that was killed in a bus as he was going home from school during holidays. I know two cousins who were drowned in a river. Another given V-neck in Chemical Engineering in Uniport. The list goes on and on. No matter how kajaared you are, you will have a moment of vulnerability. All this life no dey pay. See as the guy body dey for that gutter like chicken wey dem don cut im throat. Too bad. |
GogetterMD:So you cannot tell a baggar or an adventurer when you see one? Na for Ghana wey you go school? |
That red and black cap gave the dude away. A bloody Adventurer. |
But I ask again: WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE ADVOCATING FOR MEN TO MARRY WOMEN THAT CANNOT COOK? Are men on Nairaland this deluded? |
How can any African man marry a woman who cannot cook? ![]() And how can a man marry a woman who can spend hours doing hair in salon but cannot spend one hour praying for her husband? When I am in the street hustling, I expect to have a backup at home praying for my success and cooking me good food to eat when I come back. So what is Akin Alabi talking about? Does his mother not know how to cook? Of course is he even married? |
How many million children died of starvation in Biafra in 1968-1969? Thank God some of those who masterminded the atrocities of starvation in that civil war are still alive to see how nemesis has caught up with their people. What goes around always comes around. |
Tamakay:I was feeling quite off at work this morning and decided to take some time off to catch some fun on Nairaland and I have not been disappointed. Kai Tamakay, you don finish Madam Steph-Nora. |
shamecurls:You just made my day. How in the world is someone supposed to stay without having sex for donkey years? |
lafex:You mistake intent. Nobody is saying that what you posted is false. That is the official process. But this is Nigeria. What obtains here is not the ideal but the reality, and the reality is that you cannot get the best possible deal by paying to AGIS and waiting forever. For instance, if I want to start building in October, how possible is it to get allocated land in an area where infrastructural development has commenced? The estate developers are highly connected. They get information about areas where government is about to award contracts for infrastructural development even before it becomes public information, then they simply get financing and buy off all the plots there with the help of colluding officials in these agencies. So how can you the ordinary Nigerian match these people? I am after practical stuff not theory. It has taken 1976 to 2013 or so to complete Phase 1 of Abuja: 3 phases to go. The OP's official process will work if you plan to just buy land through this official process and hand it over to your children as an inheritance in the next 40 or 50 years when you are old and on your way out, as by then Phase 3 development may have commenced and those areas would start to look like the city centre. But if you want to build your own house, simply save the millions and pay the estate developers. Many of them have payment plans and it is better to pay in installments for such land than to use all these bank facilities to pay in installments for cars. |
You see, my problem here is that people just go online, copy some BS and paste it here. We all know that this process does not work. Your best bet is to look for estate developers who already have land allocated in an area where contract for infrastructural development has already been awarded. Abuja was built to be developed in 4 phases. Phase 1 is completed and now govt is in Phase 2. That is a more pragmatic approach, not paying some money into AGIS account and waiting forever. These monies will still be paid when you buy from estate developers, so why not get money and buy from them with confirmed and verifiable papers as opposed to time wasting? If the OP's method works, then everybody in Abuja for don become land owners far tey. |
diegwu01:Damn right brother. More than half voted APC because they were promised 5,000 a month. Iyaa! |
Everything in life is risk. 2k us far less than what some people spend on booze and women. At least pay the 2k and give yourself 50% chance. Pay nothing, give yourself 0% chance. Na so life be o. Some of today's success stories were achieved from chance opportunities. |
The project was mostly funded by the Chinese and our kids are the ones who will pay back the funds. Anyway, I will give the service a trial. Better than plying that Abuja-Kaduna road. |
