joborskill:****Where do you live? I ply the Area 1 to Berger axis every blessed day and we all know when a diversion was created around Wuye junction while the construction was ongoing by the GEJ administration. Work was stopped when he left office and only when the Chinese agreed to give Bubu more money was the project finished. It is impossible to construct such a project in 14 months (if we are to believe it was started in May 2015 and completed in July 2016). |
locosis007:Mr man, don't talk again. Have you independently verified this wild claim? |
What stops Nairaland from floating a football club, listing it on the stock exchange and the close to 2,000,000 members here contribute N10,000 each for the club to take off? Pick players from the villages and get a world class coach to hone their skills? You think any club in Nigeria will be able to match such a club with such funding? The problem is that Nigerians are inherently selfish. That is why even the private guys want to have their names stamped on the club so the club can be seen as just another of their list of assets. - ABIOLA Babes - IFEANYIUBAH fc - IWUANYANWU Nationale - GIWA fc - etc etc. Do you see a club like TP Mazembe bearing the name of the governor of Katanga province in DRC even though he is single-handedly bankrolling the club, their stadium, private jet, etc? |
Pavore9:I'll give you a scenario. In March wen there was a crippling fuel scarcity, people had to carry their generators to the filling station to buy fuel. I would routinely carry my 6.5KVA, 5KVA (both for office use) as well as 3.5KVA home generators in my car. Sometimes, I would be turned back due to instructions not to sell to generators. I had on one occasion entered into an altercation with a policeman who refused my boy entering the station with a gen. All this while, LPG was in surplus. So even while we wait for an explanation of the cost per hour of running time, we can imagine the cost in man hours queuing for fuel, not to talk of the embarrassment. Get the picture? |
Organophosphate poisoning. People do not realize that insecticides kill people too. Works like sarin gas used in chemical weapons but slower. |
Laid2001:Guy, wetin be the name of that bank wey dey opposite SBS (now College of Arts and Science? All Rumuola road na Rumuola naaa! |
Why in the world can't Nigerians stand up for their rights? I was once on a car hire and the police stopped us somewhere and said the driver did not have an ID of the car company whose receipt I had. Took us to the station where after I made serious noise, I told them plainly that I was going to create MAJOR problems for them when I got back to Abuja. They conferred among themselves and released us to go without collecting farthing. And believe me, that day I was ready for wahala. That day police knew the meaning of Fela's song: trouble dey sleep, na so inyanga go wake am. Wetin e dey find? Wahala, e dey find, wahala, e go get. |
saliubello:Very saddening that you refused to answer a simple question I asked to enable me take a decision on the irrigation format I will use. Maybe I should simply seek an answer elsewhere. |
I have seen a corper driving a car of N10m which he bought with self-made business profits. Yet always abused by his mates: "what is he feeling like"? But they will not do what he did to make the money. Mercy Aigbe does not have two heads. The person who claims the palms cost too much should either go to bend down boutique and buy hers or probably come out with her own shoe line and stop making noise. |
ahms12:The guy you quoted is right. I tried to recruit assistants and only one has proven to be trustworthy. You can see that Upwork has started to tighten up. Too many Nigerian youths are just very unserious. |
sanyakola:I do not know why people do this to themselves. Since you live in the US, you should fill the W-9 tax form and submit your US social security number and Tax ID to the Upwork guys so you can start receiving your payments. Since you are not conversant with the US laws on tax (FATCA) and you are claiming to be a US citizen, prepare to forfeit your earnings. Pray you are not asked to verify your identity and location. |
Oxone:Better use the country where God put you which is Naija. Unless you want to start having major problems with payments when they ask you to verify your location. |
Even the chimp know say hunger dey for Naija o. Nothing pass free food for zoo. |
OP, You need some injection of common sense. Can you see into your own ear to know what is happening there? The answer is no. That is why there are ENT doctors. They have this thing they use to look into your ear (some kind of microscope). That way, they can see if there is something like too much earwax blocking the ear. But as we are here, NOBODY here can tell you what is wrong with your ear. GO TO THE EAR NOSE AND THROAT DOCTORS. Let them check your ear with their instruments. Your ears are delicate. Do not play with them. Do not try self-medication. |
MrTour:You are saying you bought a USD for 328 Naira? Adonbilivit! Here in Abuja it is anything from 350 to 355. |
Olayinkaoj:Your best bet. About 12 hours because there are many police checkpoints on this road. When I drove back one of my imported vehicles, it was like every kilometer. A journey I started at 7 am ended at 10pm as I kept getting hounded for tinted permits at almost every stop. Even had to part with 2,500 to a SARS team in the middle of nowhere with heavy begging because I knew one of them. Not a journey I would like to do again. |
chiebube1:You are about to get yourself into a real mess with the bolded. |
BiafraBushBoy:Car companies abroad usually have recalls of vehicles running into millions. Toyota had a big scandal some years back. Why can't we celebrate our own? |
umehmj:The Abakaliki guys get it from Cameroun and Guinea. |
skillzlujan:I added my Payoneer card for deposits and to verify it, I had to add some funds. So yes, you can do this with a MasterCard. However, it seems that to make withdrawals, you need to add a dollar VISA card or order for the Skrill prepaid Mastercard. |
Well, well, well, Skrill works afterall. Yesterday, I received a payment from a client in the UK for some work done for him via Skrill. He deposited about $2,000 into my Skrill account. I had already verified my account with my international passport, so my limits were lifted to "unlimited". I had also added and verified my domiciliary bank account earlier. So what did I do? I decided to make the withdrawal to my dorm account yesterday afternoon. I can authoritatively report that I got my account credit this afternoon, with a total charge of $35 for the wire transfer. So yes, SKRILL WORKS IN NAIJA and I can make domiciliary withdrawals and have my money in 24 hours. |
Fhemmmy:Welcome back. It is because you were missing in action. Guys like you were the drivers of this page before the house of prayer was turned into a den of thieves (original purpose for the thread was derailed). |
Are you seeing what I am saw? |
I don't know if I am the only one noticing this but: Al-Makura is getting fatter. Look how rounded his cheeks and face are now looking compared to when he just came to power. |
saliubello:Yep, but herdsmen have changed the equation. I am sure you know the cost implication of fencing a hectare of land. Just planning ahead as you encourage one to do. |
Shinkafi was head of the NSO (the precursor to the SSS) just before Buhari came to power in the 80s. How will he not mourn someone who headed an organization he used to suppress the opposition to his govt? |
saliubello:I would like to try vegetable farming during the dry season. Problem is, I have this 1 hectare (2.5 acres) unused land which is not close to a water source. I am wondering whether to dig a borehole + get two 6,000 litre tanks, a water pump, hose and then 2 rain guns. Is this a workable arrangement? I've got a 10KVA diesel gen which can do the business of pumping water out of the borehole. I am hoping to have fenced the place before I start because of these rampaging cows and their herdsmen. |
SimacSMSplus:At what rate are you willing to buy the Skrill funds? I got a friend who gets paid regularly into Skrill. |
Mckandre:OP, better listen to this advice. Fangs work like hypodermic needles. They just need to enter your skin to do the damage. Whether the snake puts it into you or you put your finger on it, the effect is the same. |
Must we continue to use fossil fuels in this country? |
You can be sure some people will jump off without paying. Nigerians are the most callous people you can deal with. |
weblord1900:The reason why Igbos are very successful in business is because those 7 years are the most treasured years where all they need to succeed in life is taught them by their masters. My advice? Stoop to conquer. Endure every insult. Be very honest to a fault. Do not try to go ahead of your time. I tell you as a business owner. One thing business owners want is staff who are LOYAL, COMMITTED and HONEST. Those three assets can guarantee that you will serve the fullness of time and your master will settle you very well. Also remember: nobody hates a humble person. |
