Exoticstan:From my own experience, NO. Again, you have to understand that MORE clients does not necessarily translate into MORE MONEY. For instance, there is a lady on Upwork who has worked for some of the big banks like JP Morgan who earns $200 an hour for doing financial modelling. She has worked less than 20 jobs on that site and the least she has made on a single project is $1,500. Technically speaking, she can make more money than someone who does 1,000 projects and earns $2 per 500 words. Get my drift? So more projects does not necessarily mean more jobs. |
Jones will play two matches and end up being out for 10 months with injury. If he had conscience like Oguchi Onyewu, he would simply stop collecting a salary and hang up his boots. |
handysuzy:I believe there was a time spoken of in the bible when the Assyrians blockaded the kingdom of Israel for 3 years and things got so bad people were eating their own children. Hope we never get there. |
tonyx4x44:Bravo. Most of my own work is from repeat jobs: a 75% rate. Ensure you exceed your client's expectations and watch how repeat jobs will be flooding in. Congrats. |
I have to say that the quality of the finishing is probably the best I have seen here on Nairaland. Kudos to the OP. |
otitokoroleti:Thank you for this. I am sure the OP's brain is already having a reboot from this information. ![]() |
EMriss:Please visit the nearest university so they can reset or reboot your brain. Lagos charges N20m for a sports betting license. And the National Lottery Regulatory Commission also charges a percentage of all stakes from the betting companies. If anything, sports betting is a veritable source of revenue for the government. So if you say govt should ban sports betting, I wonder where all the revenue they get from it will go. So see? That "hint" you got is not a hint. It is malware that needs to be erased from your thought processes. Please go get that brain reboot done ASAP. |
Why are people still doing e-currency exchange on this thread? Mod are you asleep or what? |
It is a pity GEJ got married to a kleptomaniac he could not control. I love the man but this wife of his is a thief and she will bring his ruin. |
AbuMikey:Fill the form naa. Are you not a US citizen, abi you no wan pay your tax? |
greatghana:Asa guarantor, how can you be safe? You provided surety for your friend that he will pay. If he cannot pay, you will pay. Shikena! |
OP, The biggest mistake you will make is engaging your father-in-law to do errands for you. What is his motivation to "run errands" for you? |
Jasi7:You have been put on notice. |
Let me issue a VERY STRONG WARNING to Jasi7 and others like him here. Some of us have worked hard on that site for years to build it. Back then in 2009, Nigerians were hardly allowed on Elance, never on oDesk. Elance came to Lagos in 2011 where I and a few others were given invitations to speak at that event in Victoria Island. We opened the way for Nigerians to work there. oDesk opened up their platform to Nigerians, and the merger between Elance and oDesk created Upwork. What I will not stand for, is for a few persons to use their criminal, nefarious ways to damage our reputation further and ruin a genuine opportunity for other upcoming Nigerians on Upwork, AND STILL COME HERE TO DEFEND THEIR ACTIONS! No, enough of that rubbish. I will reiterate it again. If ever Upwork bans Nigerians from that site, I will personally put a call across to a few of their team members who were in Lagos in 2011 and assist them to fish out every single person with a false identity and get them arrested and prosecuted. Nobody will perform criminal actions on that site and come here to insult me for raising eyebrows about this. I would rather that person rot in jail. Enough is enough! |
Jasi7:If Upwork ends up banning Nigerians from their site, I will be one of the first to travel to their headquarters to negotiate for your arrest and others like you as a bargain to getting that site open again. Mark my words. You do not know whom you are playing with. You think we are mates right? Just watch out. Here you are committing an outright crime by using a false identity on that site and you are even bold enough to be making noise about it. What makes you different from terrorists who use false identities, false passports and falsified documents to enter countries to commit terrorist acts? Better check yourself before you end up where you never ever dreamed of. I repeat, if Upwork ever bans Nigerians from their site as a result of your nefarious activities, I will be one of those who will personally make sure that you and others like you are fished out for identity theft and face the law. |
Jasi7:People like you are the reason Nigeria stinks to the high heavens abroad. Why must the mindset of a Nigerian always border on ILLEGALITY? WHY? |
Every university has an ethics committee as a body in the senate. Simply write an official letter to them or you write to the Nigerian Universities Commission as a 2nd step if the senate of the university does nothing. Plagiarism is a very serious offence in academic circles and if the Professor is found guilty, that is grounds for outright dismissal from service. |
Yes, let them eat and be merry for 2 days, then starve for 363 days. Nonsense. Why not empower the people with skills and finance to operate businesses so they can buy their own rams forever? |
Abduletudaye:Let him walk into a bank and purchase Treasury bills with the money, collect upfront interest at 18% and leave the money there for 90 days while he does a feasibility study to know what he will do with the money. |
Nsonaso:It is like you guys want to put yourselves into all manner of trouble. You are not a US citizen and you are not resident in the US. You want the IRS to come after you? Filling that form when you are not a US citizen is FRAUD and can land you in all kinds of trouble. |
Oh my goodness. Na person face dem cut like suya? |
Gmajor:Since you are now an American, you have to fill the W-9 tax form so your earnings can have the tax deducted straight away and sent to the IRS. Pray they don't come after you for tax evasion. Wesley Snipes spent 3 years in prison for it. ![]() |
It bothers me why our people place premium on unimportant stuff and will refuse to spend money on things that will change their lives for the better. They always want such things for free. I realized years back that the best things in life are not free at all. You will see guys spending money on sports betting, olosho, alcohol and all, but to spend 2k ($5 for crying out loud) and earn dollars for the rest of their lives is a problem. How in the world can someone not raise N2,000 for training? Even doing labourer work for ONE DAY can get two times that amount. ONE DAY! People, let us be serious with ourselves and our lives. I hope I have put some sense into someone. That advice is not for me because I have several streams of income. I pray that the cobwebs and covering casts that are blinding the eyes of our youths be destroyed NOW. |
databoy247:You see naa? Naija people and their way of life. |
Our idea of empowerment in this country just makes me shake my head in wonder. |
ShoutHallelujah:Well, I will look into this possibility before September runs out. |
databoy247:Ok, If I were to do this, I will charge N5,000 each. But I will only do this if people are ready to pay and won't start shouting that they are being ripped off. |
God will punish all those who say bad things about Goodluck Jonathan. |
databoy247:How much are you charging? |
dyydxx:Bros, we no go cook the food and at the same time put am for your mouth, chew am for you come digest am again on top. There are 25 banks in Nigeria. Receive the grace to boldly select one, step out of your house and enter there to find out their account opening requirements. Every bank has dollars and pounds. If one branch does not have, move to another branch. Eventually you will know which branch always has. |
everydayperson:Ribena children are healthy children. Some of the best times of my life! |
