I'll give you a scenario. In March wen there was a crippling fuel scarcity, people had to carry their generators to the filling station to buy fuel. I would routinely carry my 6.5KVA, 5KVA (both for office use) as well as 3.5KVA home generators in my car. Sometimes, I would be turned back due to instructions not to sell to generators. I had on one occasion entered into an altercation with a policeman who refused my boy entering the station with a gen.

All this while, LPG was in surplus. So even while we wait for an explanation of the cost per hour of running time, we can imagine the cost in man hours queuing for fuel, not to talk of the embarrassment.

I do not know why people do this to themselves. Since you live in the US, you should fill the W-9 tax form and submit your US social security number and Tax ID to the Upwork guys so you can start receiving your payments. Since you are not conversant with the US laws on tax (FATCA) and you are claiming to be a US citizen, prepare to forfeit your earnings. Pray you are not asked to verify your identity and location.

You need some injection of common sense. Can you see into your own ear to know what is happening there? The answer is no.

That is why there are ENT doctors. They have this thing they use to look into your ear (some kind of microscope). That way, they can see if there is something like too much earwax blocking the ear. But as we are here, NOBODY here can tell you what is wrong with your ear.

GO TO THE EAR NOSE AND THROAT DOCTORS. Let them check your ear with their instruments. Your ears are delicate. Do not play with them. Do not try self-medication.

Your best bet. About 12 hours because there are many police checkpoints on this road. When I drove back one of my imported vehicles, it was like every kilometer. A journey I started at 7 am ended at 10pm as I kept getting hounded for tinted permits at almost every stop. Even had to part with 2,500 to a SARS team in the middle of nowhere with heavy begging because I knew one of them.

Not a journey I would like to do again.

I would like to try vegetable farming during the dry season. Problem is, I have this 1 hectare (2.5 acres) unused land which is not close to a water source. I've got a 10KVA diesel gen which can do the business of pumping water out of the borehole.

My advice? Stoop to conquer. Endure every insult. Be very honest to a fault. Do not try to go ahead of your time. I tell you as a business owner. One thing business owners want is staff who are LOYAL, COMMITTED and HONEST. Those three assets can guarantee that you will serve the fullness of time and your master will settle you very well.

Also remember: nobody hates a humble person.

What I cannot understand is this:

Why would any member of the board of directors, the Chairman, MD or anybody in such positions be allowed to borrow such staggering amounts of money from banks they are supposed to be administering? It is the bank run that eventually distresses a bank; everyone trying to withdraw at the same time. Some form of withdrawal restriction and capital injection from the CBN should keep the bank standing.
