BusinessRe: Forex Trainer Needs N10m For Surgery by stagger: 2:47pm On Jan 16, 2015
biodunid:
If after years of trading forex, training people and writing extensively about it he can't afford more than the N3m spent so far even with relatives contributing then forex trading isn't worth the hype. Even farming, check the thread on cucumber, should place one in a better financial position to face life's vicissitudes, if practiced at the level this bros took forex trading to.

Again pls note this doesn't mean I don't sympathize with him or poking fun at his condition. Am just pointing out to those seduced by the forex hype that it really isn't the key to financial freedom.
Trading forex requires an individual to be alive and well to do it. You can't trade forex when you are sick. On the other hand, if you have been in farming for a long time and have a strong management team in place, you can weather the storms to an extent, provided the management does not run your farming enterprise into the ground.

I think your analysis is flawed. We cannot all be farmers, and we cannot all be forex traders. If an individual has found something legit to make money with, that is good for that person. However, it is good to focus on building a system rather than building a business.

It is not about a literate person marrying an illiterate person. It is about intellectual compatibility. It is right to marry a person who is of the same intellectual capacity as yourself so you can reason and discuss things on common ground.

Christianity EtcRe: 8 Men Of God, Different 2015 Revelations – What Do We Believe? by stagger: 1:04pm On Jan 15, 2015
The bible says that God sets the solitary in families.

Just as I belong to a nuclear family, so also everyone here belongs to one family or another. I now have my own family, and my siblings now have their own families. The agenda of my family is different from the agenda that my siblings and their families have. It does not change the fact that they are my siblings, but now we have our own families, our agenda is now different.

So it is with Christianity. We are from one God. But God has set us in different families with different agenda and mandates on planet earth. Some churches are called into heavy missions. Some are called into healing ministry. Some are called into the prophetic. There are those who are into deliverance ministries. We are all Christians, but have different mandates.

As a Christian, you are to identify with a family of God, and run with the vision of that family. As a Winner, we did 21 days of fasting last year and we are doing same now. RCCG did 100 days of fasting last year. As a Winner, I will be stupid to abandon the mandate of my own family to go carrying out the mandate of another family.

Unfortunately, we have human beings and sadly some Christians who think they have to run around capturing every prophecy and every mandate from every ministry. That is wrong and will only lead to confusion.

As a Winner, I can say that the so-called prophecy ascribed to Bishop is incomplete. It was given in context and the prophetic mandate of Shiloh 2014 for the year 2015 is still being unveiled to us as we engage in fasting and prayer. The summary of the prophetic mandate of "Heaven on Earth" is that we will be granted exemption from the economic perils of 2015 through God giving us access to the happenings and experiences of heaven on earth. The question for us as individual winners is: HOW? How will this happen? We have to ask God to unveil to us how this will occur, and it is something we are doing now.

For each church, there is a mandate and they have to ask God how their mandate will occur.

As individual human beings, we have our goals and aspirations for the year. If you want to travel out, you don't just start jumping and claiming and receiving the prophecy that you will travel out in 2015. You must sit down and count the cost of such a venture.

- how do I get a visa?
- what are the visa requirements?
- what are the various visa categories and which one am I qualified for?
- if I am not qualified, how do I get myself qualified?
- what does the entire process cost?
- WHAT AM I EVEN TRAVELING OUT FOR? Work, business, school, "hustling"? (many don't even have an idea)
- ETC, ETC, ETC

Everything has a purpose and a plan. So don't just take prophecy and move around confused. Locate the very one that is for you, identify the meaning in your life, get a masterplan from God as to how the prophecy meant for you will be actualized, and then run with it for the year.

Shikena!

PoliticsRe: "Buhari Executed My Father But I Will Still Vote For Him" - Lawal Ojuolape's Son by stagger: 11:17pm On Jan 14, 2015
ogene007:
The late Ojuolape did not commit treason, he and the other two were accused of carrying drugs and were executed without being tried in any court of competent jurisdiction. Buhari just used the three young men to send a strong message to nigerians, that they were now under the new Idi Amin of Nigeria.
Then the courts of the land were the various military tribunals setup for all manner of offences: currency trafficking (Fela was given 5 years for this), economic sabotage, drug trafficking, etc. I remember when Peter Kolawole Obasa, the NYSC Director General was given 21 years for allegedly embezzling NYSC money. All these trials were shown in summary on NTA Network News those days.

Then people collapsing on the dock was the in-thing. Buhari and Idiagbon were very harsh. Once you are convicted of an offence by a military tribunal, nothing like appeal. That was why there was so much outcry against the execution of those three young men. The image of Lawal Ojulope singing with his chaplet in his hands is one of the enduring images of my childhood I will not forget. It is a pity that this young man can throw away such images of how his father was shot to pieces for an ogling crowd at bar beach, just to sing the praises of Buhari. sad sad sad

If you are a corper serving in the north, better read this. Start working on a plan of escape. Rehearse it daily. Keep physical cash on yourselves. Liaise with your family on an effective rescue plan in case you are stranded. Make sure u own a power bank for your phones in case you have to be on the run in the bush for days.

If you have the access, own a firearm. Borrowing from 2011 and from what those of us here have been hearing these Hausa boys say all over town recently, there is definitely going to be trouble if Buhari loses. Already in some northern states, my personal intelligence network has picked stories of people being beaten for merely mentioning the name Jonathan. Recently I was in a place in Abuja where it was "sai Bihari" all around me.

If you value your life as a corper serving in the north, take thus advice very seriously. Your life may depend on it. If several corpers could be killed and raped in 2011 because they were supposedly aiding GEJ in performing electoral duty, imagine 2015 when the stakes are exceedingly higher.
PoliticsRe: ESSENCO: Buhari's Failed Commodity Price Control Scheme. by stagger: 9:32pm On Jan 09, 2015
Aksonman:
Most young Buhari fans on the social media have probably never heard of Essenco (Essential commodities policy)-unfortunately,if they ask their pro-APC parents, the truth will never be told to them.

In order to stem hyper-inflation between 1983-1985, Buhari's military govt initiated a price control mechanism Nigerians got to know as Essenco. Soldiers were drafted to major commodity markets across Nigeria to enforce government fixed prices for basic provisions i.e bread, sugar, soap, tooth paste etc. This led to unprecedented long queues in most major provisions markets across Nigeria.

Also, there were limits to the quantity of provisions an individual could buy. The programme led to an initial sharp drop in commodity prices but in coming weeks basic provisions began to disappear from most stores. Endless queues for bread, toothpaste, milk, etc emerged.

As expected, a black market industry thrived where same goods became bountiful at exorbitant prices. Also most black market operators happened to be closely related to some military figures. Some people say this led to the birth of Mammy markets in Nigerian military barracks (though I'm not sure)

This was one of the many failed economic policies that led to Buhari being overthrown.

Babangida after his coup immediately reversed the Essenco policy and food stuffs once again flooded Nigerian markets at competitive prices.

Source: Go ask your parents or any educated elder in your family, PLEASE beg them to tell you the truth.
My brother thank you for reminding some of these GMB apologists about the policies of their oga. I was a living witness to the ESSENCO madness in 1984. When Buhari was overthrown people were openly jubilating on the streets. Many Nairalanders here were not born. I was a witness and that is why I can never vote Buhari in 2015.
PoliticsRe: Amaechi: I’m Igbo, Jonathan Who Says His Name Is Ebele Can’t Speak The Language by stagger: 9:21pm On Jan 09, 2015
Amaechi you are a liar! You are not Igbo. You are Ikwerre.

"Rivers money for Rivers people": that was his motto when he came to office in award of contracts. Now 8 years after, he now claims to be an Igbo man. Nigeria has more than 500 languages. Anyone can speak any language out of that number. I speak three Nigerian languages myself but it does not change my tribe or state of origin, so who is Amaechi trying to deceive?

Lying Ikwerre bomboclatt!

Adminisher:
This is going to knock out a number of banks. To be honest with you I don't like the new CBN governor. He lacks foresight and is very parochial. What Nigeria should be doing is targeting diaspora transfers that can be in excess of $45billion a year through special instruments. Our human resources abroad make more foreign exchange than oil and gas makes for us locality and also many things are possible if only the man were really bright instead of bringing ideas like stealing N65 from cross ATM transactions.
I beg to disagree. Where did the application fee collected from over 1million Nigerians for the immigration test go to? Where do all the tender fees paid by contractors go to? Who gives any account for these fees? That is why deputy directors can carry up to N6billion in the boot of a vehicle driving around the whole of Abuja looking for real estate to buy.

No! Enough is enough. Everything should be remitted to a central source and paid out to MDAs electronically from the accountant-general's office.

Awardees: use this to learn a lesson. Make sure your 1st tranche is used properly and start now to seek creative and alternative means of funding so your business does not end up on life support!
EducationRe: Universities Lack Quality Lecturers - NUC January 8, 2015 by stagger: 10:04pm On Jan 08, 2015
Many of my lecturers were very sound. That was the era when there was opportunity to travel for further studies. Now it is more difficult. Even the TETFUND which is supposed to help in this regard is now a matter or ethnicity. Try going to any university, state or Federal and apply for a lecturing appointment. The first question you will be asked is: what state are you from?

This is the main reason universities are lacking quality teaching staff. Qualified ones are now forced to have to move back to their states of origin to stand a chance at getting employed. Otherwise they will have to look abroad. Go to any typical university in the North. A Southerner who is a first class brain with a solid PhD will never be employed over a Hausa-speaking indigene with a Masters. Go to a typical southern university. The discrimination over their own southern brothers is even worse. An Igbo man has virtually no chance of being employed in UNIPORT or RSUST. Or go to UNIZIK or UNN. An indigene of Abia state or Imo state cannot be employed over an Anambra man. Discrimination even among people who speak the same language.

Until we stop this quota system or Federal Character system we are operating, the situation will not improve.

AgricultureRe: Pastor Ashimolowo Explains The Importance Of Rice Farming by stagger:
dorox:
The farm was made with money people donated for the propagation of the gospel that he appropriated to himself. This kind of greed and dishonesty should be condemned irrespective of the person doing it, be it an imam or a pastor. It is pure theft from the willing and gullible faithfuls.
at the very least, I hope he still has enough decency to pay his fair share of tax from income earned through the farm instead of laudering through the church as some do.
Tomorrow when he buys a private jet, people will say he has stolen church money to do it. Now he goes into rice farming on 140 acres (which is 56 hectares of land) and people are saying he has appropriated church money to do it. Haba!

I can lease 56 hectares of land from the river basin authorities at the one-third of the cost of what it will take to fuel a Boeing 737 aircraft from Lagos to Abuja for an hour's flight. I am just saying that planting rice on 56 hectares of land is within reach of any young person doing well in Nigeria.

Pastor Ashimolowo does not need to steal anyone's money for it. Leave the man alone.
