I can attest to bank of agric cos the tractors, ploughs, harrows and other farming machines my dad bought then for his farm was via a loan from bank of agric. I cannot state if there was any collateral or equity contribution as at dt time and cannot ask him cos he is late. Also note he was still in civil service and a part time farmer when he took the loan. He later went into full time agric and died in d hand of one of his tractors. tragic shaa.

I think bank of industries is.mostly for smes, schools etc but u can go ahead and ask if they have agric desk.

Thank you my brother. The issue is a lot of us just stay at home, don't research, don't ask questions in the right places, and simply assume that nothing is happening. You cannot believe that someone stopped me at Millennium park the day the venture capital fund was launched after coming back from State House, asked me what the large crowd was gathering for, and he was told that these were YouWIN past and present winners. The next question from him was a bombshell: "please what is YouWIN?"

That just sums up the whole package. I would advise the OP to go to the Bank of Agriculture and ask what is happening. There are several grants being given to farmers from international agencies like USAID. In 2009/2010, Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) was in Nigeria and they intervened in 3 cassava-based industries in Abuja and Nasarawa state. There are programs like these everywhere. IITA is developing new seeds that give better yields and resist disease better. Many of these seedlings are being given out free under several state programs.

BOA also gives out loans, some of them not in cash but in form of payment for mechanization tools like tractors and farm machinery. The various state Agric Development Programs are training farmers on new techniques of farming.

OLAM Nigeria is buying sesame from farmers in Nasarawa state at a guaranteed price, ensuring these farmers have a ready market for their products.

MARKETS Nigeria is working in 24 states to develop the main crops cultivated in those states and bringing in partners to buy them from farmers and give them guaranteed market. They have an office in Abuja. Has the OP ever gone there to ask questions?

I can go on and on and on. So many things happening. Yet the OP and his cohorts will be complaining. They want Oga Jonah to personally come to their houses and put money in their hands before they will say ohh, GEJ is working.

God has used GEJ to put opportunities for youths more than ever before in Nigeria, but WE HAVE TO DO OUR PART AND DO SOME WORK IN SEARCHING FOR THESE THINGS AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THEM.

Nobody can spoon feed you. Do your own share of the work around here.

My brother, I am not a TANoid. I am not a member of any political party. I only believe in giving credit to whom it is due. In terms of fighting corruption and terrorism, I rank GEJ's government very low. But in terms of youth empowerment and agricultural transformation, I have to award them very high marks.

Those who think Buhari is the messiah we are waiting for are badly mistaken. Money got missing from out coffers when he was petroleum minister. Who has ever probed how contracts were awarded under PTF when he was there? Has he ever declared his assets? Someone who can say Abacha was not corrupt with all the stolen monies being recovered left right and centre cannot be the messiah. When he was Head of State, what legacy did he leave behind for Nigerian youths? I will list some:

a) Buhari stopped the compulsory feeding of Nigerian students in the university.
b) He stopped the building of new hostels in the university.

You want me to name more?

You are just talking nonsense.

1) You don't know the number of unemployed but employable youths.
2) Programs such as YEAP (the one you are referring to) require vast amounts of funding and when you are getting such money from the World Bank and other development partners, it takes a lot of lobbying and negotiations, because there are other countries seeking for such funds as well.
3) This is the first time we are having a technocrat as Agric minister. A man who graduated with First Class Honours for his Bachelors, Masters and PhD from Agric Economics, who after having had wonderful stints abroad, came back to Nigeria and has effectively broken the back of the fertilizer racketeering and rice importation which previous agric ministers were all supporting.
4) Effectively checkmated the stranglehold of the Vaswani Brothers on the rice industry in Nigeria by promoting FADAMA rice paddy farming in the core Northern states using state of the art irrigation techniques in those states that have been hammered by desertification.
5) For the first time, we have programs that are targeted at youths in this country. Can you point to any government that has done this in the past? Mind you, I was very much alive and a teenager during Buhari's first time in office from December 31st 1983 to August 27, 1985, and I know everything that happened in that government, including how ministers like Umaru Dikko were given import licenses for importation of rice and other ESSENCOs. Now he thinks some of us have forgotten and he has come again to continue from his misrule. In case you don't know, there was mass jubilation on the streets when he was toppled by IBB because the economy was in ruins.
5) For the first time, funds are being created to help people get into agriculture. Granted, there is problem with access to those funds but the Bank of Industry has recently engaged several companies that will work with business to make their proposals and business structure more bankable, and Bank of Agric is going to do same.
6) I want to ask you: have you ever stepped into any office of the Bank of Agric to know what they have for you? I guess you don't know.
7) Do you know the offices of the 13 river basin authorities in Nigeria? Do you know their function?

Rather than people like you to sit in your house making assumptions (how did you come about 100 million figure for unemployed youths..), you should actually take the time to look at what is going on in your country. Those YEAP guys who gave their testimonies at the program launch did not fall from space. They researched, got info and acted on it. You should too instead of blaming a government that has done more for agric than any other govt in history.

I just read the whole content of you post and I'm very sorry for arguing with you. I thought u were just a lil bit enough to engage in an informative/matured argument but I can see I'm wrong. I give up, U are right and I'm wrong

The offerings and tithes that are brought into the church constitute a percentage of the money, but it is not the source of the major projects handled by the church. Church members give a sizeable portion of their money to these projects. The pastors and Bishop himself give a sizeable portion of their money as well.

Bishop has several sources of income which have NOTHING to do with the church. He does not take a dime from the church in salary or allowance. He does not need to.

I give you an example. President Obasanjo was building a library. How much of his own money went into it? Adenuga gave 250million. There were those who gave N1bn. The people whom a man has touched can easily give money to his cause.

When I buried my dad, people whose lives he had touched (including some people in government today) were outdoing themselves to contribute financially to event. One guy gave us two cows. Another did the road leading to our house. Another paid for drinks. One gave me $US2,500. Another signed off N2m. I can go on and on. With a burial bill of close to N10m, how many poor people in my village would I have to go cap in hand to begging for them to contribute to the event? Why would I have to do this when people my dad helped to be what they are today are alive and accessible?

Bishop is a global phenomenon. If he needs something (a big IF), he does not need to beg poor people to pay for it. He does not need church offering. You saw him standing beside GEJ during the pilgrimage. He can walk into any presidential villa in the world. That is the level he operates in, given to him by God Almighty because of the impact his ministry is having. He does not need to beg any person living on less than $2 a day for money.

And since the poverty level in Nigeria is 62% that means statistically 3.1 Million poor men are his church members, right? Now calculate that for a Sunday's offering, thanksgiving service, midweek service, first fruit, daddy's birthday and other miscellaneous donations, what did u arrive at? Now let me address your points.

1) Your statements are made of complete assumptions. How many books has Bishop written?
2) How many copies of his books have been sold worldwide?
3) How much was spent in the construction of Faith Tabernacle, the complex at Goshen in Auta Balefi in Nasarawa State, Covenant University, Landmark University, the 4 Gulfstream aircraft owned by the church, and other structures setup by the church? I do hope you know that every church complex houses an auditorium, the Kingdom Heritage Model School, a youth church, offices, access roads and parking lots?

Now when you have properly gone round the country and taken a census, ask yourself HOW MANY POOR PEOPLE ON LESS THAN $1 A DAY WILL BE REQUIRED TO SETUP SUCH STRUCTURES. Just do the Maths after you have done your research (based on facts and not assumptions), then come back here to tell us.

The church auctions thousands of vehicles annually. The church awards contracts worth billions yearly. Even people like Tee Mac the flutist who came out to criticize Bishop for using a private jet forgot to mention to the public that he was given a contract to supply stones used for the construction of one of the universities! Talk of biting the fingers that fed him.

Winners is not a poor church because our God is not a poor God. The bible tells me that Christ came into the world and was made poor so that we may become rich, due to his having paid the price for us.

If you have friends who are in the occult, ask them of the principle of substitution, giving and sacrifice. They understand these things. People who are carnally minded and have no knowledge of spiritual things like yourself cannot understand.

It said NEW private jets. It does not focus on private jets already owned and being used. In any case, the policy is faulty. How many people buy private jets? How often are they bought? The policy is just not workable.

If you want to introduce taxes on luxury items, tax items that are used recurrently. Sales tax on items like champagne and the like are on point, but certainly not on private jets or yachts.

References don't expire. You might be called to produce the account holder in 20 years time... No kidding.

Some people might frown at my position but it is the hard truth.

I have seen the need to call up the referees in my few years of existence and believe me, it's a bitter pill.

While it is not proper to referee someone unknown to you, I do not see any legal right to start asking references to produce an account holder. The reference is not a guarantor. The onus of KYC is on the bank and not the referee, and I am sure that the courts will rule in favour of a referee in such circumstances.

A normal average Nigerian cannot be happy when something good happens in the life of someone they know. Make dem go siddon. Those of us who decided to do what God expects us to do have been blessed and have never had cause to regret. Since 2006, I have never had a dry January. NEVER. I have more than 5 streams of income and God has just expanded it.

Let the frustrated people like the OP keep harassing themselves about other people's money instead of his own.

A first-fruit offering is not a compulsory offering. It is you the individual who decides to give it according to the revelation that God gives you concerning it. No pastor has a right to tell you that all your income for the month belongs to the church. It is a lie. The fact is that many of you do not read the bible to see things for yourselves. You take what many of the new age "pastors" tell you without searching for biblical backup to that principle.

February 2015 is elections period. Politicians are busy giving sacrifices and all what not to their native doctors, marabouts and shrines. They do it because they know what they are looking for, and they NEVER question the priests of those shrines as to what the cows, goats, human heads and other stuff are used for. And the fool who pushed this thread to the front page as well as the OP will never question that.

Now God asks his people to pay their tithes (compulsory), give useful offerings (compulsory, though amount is at the discretion of the giver depending on how blessed he is), help the poor (compulsory, and by doing something worthy that will change their lives, not by giving one tattered N10 note which is what I am sure the OP does), give to their parents, sow their first-fruits, etc. There are platforms for such giving. All of a sudden, it is now "robbery in January".

People like the OP keep writing garbage as if it is his money that is being used, and those who obey God's principles are reaping the benefit. 2015 is loaded. God will keep blessing his people.

Men and women were not created to be equal, neither was any created to be superior. They were created to be complementary. One is not complete without the other. The man was made masculine to take stress and face danger which the woman cannot take. That is why we have rough skin and hard features, and the woman has delicate skin. It does not mean one is superior to the other. They are to complement each other, and naturally, there has to be a captain in a boat so God designed it to offer protection and leadership to the woman and the kids, not to treat them as servants or beasts of burden.

A pencil and sharpener are not equal. The pencil needs the sharpener to be sharp, and the sharpener needs the pencil to remain active and sharp and continue to function as a sharpener. To draw an analogy, a pencil can be likened to a pen..is and a sharpener to a vag..ina. That is why it is so abhorable and disgusting to see two pencils or two sharpeners trying to do it together...they do not fit.

Many countries are cracking down on arranged marriages as a means of securing residency permit or citizenship. Last week, UK Prime Minister read out tougher immigration rules for EU citizens requiring them to the be deported out of UK if they fail to secure work after 6 months. It is getting harder. I am afraid you have to re-order your life's plans. From your story, the likelihood of winning your appeal is low. Better save your money and do something else with it.

People don't seem to understand there is a difference between having sex, making love and fuc..king. Whatever the case, a husband is supposed to love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave His life for it.

How can a man forcefully have sex with his wife? Sex is to be enjoyed by both parties. It is not a tool to gratify a man's lust. Even when a woman is not in the mood, there is a way a real husband can work the wife into the mood. It is not a spontaneous thing. You have to start the job hours before then.

As a rule, I make sure I give my wife at least 2 orgasms before mine, then give her one more. I had to learn this. You can't just pounce on your wife and pound away expecting her to switch herself on and off like a light. Women are not like us. All it takes to get hard is for a man to look at a woman with good specs. Women are not wired that way. A man must learn to use words and pre-intimacy to turn a woman on before mounting her. It is not done by force.

You, your husband, his parents and your parents should sit down let all these details come out there and not here on Nairaland. I am sure a solution would come out.
