God knows that if I joined the police, I would have asked to be posted to SARS so I will personally send these bastarfs to hell very quickly. |
olillywales:So the governor is too daft to know that when you are not refining a product, and you keep importing astronomical amounts of the refined products with a weakened currency in a market that is not deregulated, the product's price will never come down? Daft people we have in government houses all the way. Importation of petroleum products is the number one contributor of the excessive dollar demand we have as a country. But with the Mike Otedolas of Nigeria funding the PDP, how can we move ahead? |
Joshkeyz:You are supposed to have buyer protection which means that even though your bank has removed the money from your card, the money is in escrow and not in seller's hands. You have the option of raising dispute once buyer protection is about to expire. I think you should wait a little bit more and use some of the other tracking sites such as 17track.net to do the tracking. |
eazeefix:Your YouWIN account is a ZERO COT account. Any bank or branch that charges you COT is to be reported so that they will be blacklisted. Fight for your rights please. NO BANK IS TO CHARGE COT ON A YOUWIN ACCOUNT! |
hmbs:You are not supposed to pay a dime. I suggest you change banks and report that branch to the YouWIN secretariat. They will be blacklisted and delisted. At Zenith bank, we were treated like eggs. Even till today because they are seeing the value of business we now do in monetary terms. Any bank that treats you like shi..t is not worthy of your money. Get that manager's name and branch and file an official complaint to the YouWIN secretariat. If you fail to act now, tomorrow they will start debiting COT charges from you for no reason. Impunity galore! |
YOu just learnt a sweet lesson. Never enter cabs or bikes in front of a bank. People don't go to bank with bags to carry garbage or firewood. Anyone who comes out of a bank with a bag must be carrying money. Why make yourself an easy target? At least you only lost money. A woman, her police escort and driver were gunned down in 2010 in front of First Bank along Rumuola road at 1.05pm. I am sure you heard of that incident. Use online banking. That is why CBN created it. Personally I never move more than 30,000 in cash for any reason. If it can't be sent via internet banking, then I will issue a cheque. It is that simple. |
Ibrahym:This is why I said in an earlier post that the focus should be on getting people to submit the requirements for account opening early. The focus here now should be on telling awardees how they can get their TIN and referee reports, which are the two documents that delay account opening. |
Eghosa1:It has been announced. The warehouses have been opened. |
blink182:You are frustrated. "God will disgrace and humble you". As if God took permission from you to create me or my destiny. Park well mister man. |
globaldream:The main issue is that I and Jeffmyson had a little argument on an issue, which we both allowed to rest and moved on. But Blink182 has made it a habit of picking quarrels with me. This is not the first time. Why would he decide to pick quarrels with me when I am not even addressing him? I give someone an honest answer based on my experiences on certain issues, and he decides to start using insults. I have no business with Blink182, and I have no issues with anyone here. Any arguments I make with people, I hardly even carry them over. I am combative in arguments by nature. It has its good and bad parts, which I admit. But when someone who is not even the subject of the argument takes it upon himself to hurl insults at me, I will not just keep quiet. I will tell them things they need to know about themselves. Blink182's posts from the start of this particular thread just reek of arrogance. It just jumps out at you. Now he has brought it here. I was advising someone on how to use his 1M effectively. That individual actually directed his question at me, Jeffmyson and Denn, NOT BLINK182. What does he do? He says "Shut your mouth, you are just talking rubbish". He was not the one asking the question, my answer was not directed at him, and he had to get those abusive words off his chest in my direction. So yes, I will tell him to his face: he is arrogant and cocky. He needs to mind his business and stay off my comments. If he wants to know a piece of what I do for money, let him send his email address and I will send him a non-sensitive document to show him one of my businesses. He can then come to the house and indicate whether I am an "audio-millionaire" or an authentic millionaire. |
blink182:You are the idiot who is talking rubbish. Your arrogance cost you YouWIN 3 and your frustration is telling in your posts. Give me your email let me send you evidence of some of the contracts our company is handling. You think say na to look flyover I dey do for Abuja? Better humble yourself and prepare for YouWIN4. Of course I know you can never win it because you are cocky and arrogant, when in fact you are just a piece of sh..it walking around Nairaland looking for handouts. Like I say, display your email here let me send you snapshots of contracts I am handling now. |
Terry1:Well, you need a space and you need the registrations (NAFDAC for instance). What you can do is to collect proforma invoices from the machinery manufacturers and make sure you have all receipts for purchases at your disposal. I do not know what targets you were given in terms of employment and monthly revenue, but you can employ one staff who will be paid the least. If you can exhaust the money and prepare the financial report for the 1st visitation by the SMEDAN and private monitors, you can convince them to make a case for you at the YouWIN secretariat to get the tranche 2 released early. Use the proforma invoices to show you are ready to move to the next stage. If you are lucky, you may get your 2nd tranche 3 months after the 1st. |
blink182:You are acting like the fool you are once again. Why are you bringing up a matter that had been dispensed with since yesterday? Everytime you keep following me around this forum to pick a quarrel. The person with whom I had the argument has moved on, I have moved on, and you just had to take us back again. Stop that rubbish! |
Mohammed83:Quickbooks software has an online version which can be purchased from their website with your Nigerian ATM card. Jefmyson and Denn have hit the nail on the head. The gap between tranche 1 and 2 could be up to 6 to 9 months. If you go ahead with your plan of spending the whole of the 1st tranche on rent, branding and showroom, you will run into huge problems. Don't you think it is better you invest tranche 1 in what will bring in money into your business? Most of it should be invested into products. You do not need a fancy show room. You want to take yoru YouWIN money and make some landlord somewhere a rich man? Haaah! Buy lots of products with most of the money. When you sell them, use a portion to pay salaries and running costs (which should be kept very low). Branding (if you even need it this 1st year) should be reserved for your 3rd tranche. For our biz, we were lucky it was an existing business; we had to finance a lot of stuff before tranche 2 came, because it took close to 7 months after tranche 1 before it came. You must spend this time NOW to look for a cheap shop in a good location. Nothing says you cannot sell your products through online stores as well as in your shop. Start thinking of other value added services your business can engage in. Have you thought of learning phone and laptop repairs so you can add this as a second income stream by the side? You can also pass on this knowledge to others and charge a fee. Be creative. Take initiatives to get money outside of the YouWIN grant to put into your business. Do not forget advertising. In essence, what we are saying here is that you should use your 1st tranche only on things that will directly bring in money, which is your products, advertising and setting up a spin off income earner from your business, NOT ON BRANDING AND A GLAMOROUS SHOWROOM! I repeat: it can take up to 6 to 9 months to get tranche 2! Do not get caught out. |
bamistol:Sorry if I come across as a hard man. But what I told you about the release of tranches is the stone cold truth. Awardees should use their first tranche carefully and ensure that their businesses are making money. We do not know what 2015 will bring. The government may stop the program due to dwindling finances. Or they may not (we pray this is the case). Inside information has it that YouWIN has had many enemies especially from the Northern elite. GEJ and NOI had to stand their ground to force the program through. Otherwise which of all our presidents has ever come up with something like this which is evaluated strictly on merit? In Nigeria? Haaaah! Just use your tranche 1 carefully. Tranche 2 typically takes time because its release depends on satisfactory tranche 1 usage. There will be lots of monitoring visits. Those who are bad in keeping records or accounting should purchase Quickbooks software and learn to use it now, because you MUST send your monthly financial reports for the entire 1 year you will be supervised. Once you navigate tranche 1 and 2, tranche 3 is usually released in the 12th month, and is yours to keep or use as you want. Tranche 1 and 2 are critical, but the release times are unsteady, unpredictable and can be very long. Dem say advice no be curse. |
jeffmyson:Clap for yourself. Now can you tell us the origin of the word "Brent"? Google will also be your friend in this regard. You may also check this link and tell us where Bonny Light Sweet is described as a brand of Brent: http://abarrelfull.wikidot.com/brent-crude |
globaldream:Our company has a lawyer on retainership whom we consult on all our legal matters, including studying of agreements. There is a level you will reach in business and it becomes expensive to operate without a lawyer. Trust me. |
jeffmyson:Nigerian crude is of the LIGHT SWEET variety which has a low sulphur content and cheaper to purify and refine, unlike the heavier BRENT crude drilled from the North Sea which as a higher sulphur content and is more expensive to purify and refine. Mr Man, go and get your facts straight and stop spewing your ignorance here. |
sunylee1:It is not bad news. It is reality. I cannot believe someone said she quit her job in expectation of the 1st tranche. Obviously she must be handling a new business. If she had plowed through the business terrain in Nigeria before, she would have known that you cannot put total faith in the words of politicians. Words like "as soon as possible", or "as soon as is practicable" are short forms of saying "we don't know when we will release the money". Now that light sweet crude is trading at $63 a barrel as at this morning, (a full $10 below the proposed 2015 benchmark), people have to be careful. There is a proviso that the government has the right to suspend the program when and if it deems it fit to do so, without any explanation to anybody. Which brings me to the point: how many YouWIN awardees actually read the contract papers through and through, or actually sought legal advice to explain the wordings of the document? Or were people just in a hurry to sign and collect "free" government money? |
The CBN should allow the Naira to float to its true level. The true level should be at about N220 to N250. It is only when we start working on our fundamentals that we will get it right. A weak currency is not always bad; but if a country is a net importer then that will be a disaster. |
sunylee1:Let me advise you. Our experience with YouWIN 2 showed that tranches can be massively delayed. My sister's company got tranche 1 after 3 months, tranche 2 after almost 8 months, and before they got tranche 3 in the final month, they had to submit all manner of documents, financial and audited reports, survey forms, and endure endless visitations from the SMEDAN and private monitors. Some forms had to be submitted up to 3 times again and again. Point: release of tranches has no timetable and is highly unreliable. If you depend on it to make certain financial decisions such as the one you just did, you will be in for a lot of problems. Make sure that by the time your first tranche is fully spent, your business has started to make money. Otherwise you will be in for a very long thing. |
bamistol:Mr Man, save your energy for other things. It can take up to 3 months for this to happen. All the monies are released at once so if there are those whose details aren't complete, the money will not be released. You should focus on appealing to your fellow awardees to make sure they tidy up their bank account opening as fast as possible. If you think tranche 1 is the problem, wait until it is time for tranche 2. That can take up to 7 months. |
Just as the man cannot demand what he has given out, churches should not neglect people in need. That is one area churches are not getting it right. |
brito:Exactly my point. Abi u be JJC to the white man's land to know that they don't greet people? |
Nzecorneboy:Animal! |
daddyfowl:So when you setup a new branch and appoint a manager, you will tell him or her not to take salary until the 4th month. Is that it? Pls don't give people bad advice. I have been an observer in an international business plan competition where someone got disqualified on this point. You are a staff. Pay yourself and others from day 1. This adds realism to your business. You won't impress anybody in a panel by telling them you won't take a salary. |
I come from the era of Jide Obi, Onyeka Onwenu, Chris Okotie, Felix Lebarty, Evi Edna Ogholi, Majek Fashek, etc. Good music without vulgarity and nudity. The songs put out by artistes today are so revolting it just beats the imagination. How we allowed our society to dump the very fabric of morality we stand for, simply for commercial gain just beats me totally. |
What goes around comes around. Femi has confessed to being a polygamist by nature, which means any "ukwu" that catches his fancy, he will go after it. But then he expected his ex-wife Funke to keep her legs closed for him and for him only. What did he expect? We should start treating women with respect and dignity. |
Real scam. I hardly saw any price reductions. |
Whobedatte:Spiritual compatibility is highly important. If man and wife are attending different churches with different doctrines, where do the children go and how can both be reconciled together? I do not even want to talk of if a muslim man marries a christian woman. That is like fuel and water mixing. I have an inlaw in that boat and I can tell you it is not a palatable story. |
