I was outraged at the accused woman until I watched the video. While not taking sides, can't rule out the possibility of abandonment by the mother herself, otherwise there should have been neighbours, relatives or law enforcement to cry to for intervention within that much time it took for the baby to emaciate. I'd like to watch the mother's interview too. |
pedrozone15:The bolded is absolutely spot on. That's the point a lot of atheists and religious folks need to understand. One of them even asked if a loving God was just to put people in hell. KNOW THIS AND KNOW PEACE; God doesn't have any intentions of burning people in hell. Rather, it is the one who dwells in hell who really needs company and that's why he's been on about making you the created foolishly question your Creator as if Ford Explorer can question the Ford motor company. Like you said, they should rather use the brain they claim is enlightened to make the choice The One and Only True God has given them to escape escorting the dark angel to his abode. |
darichlife:Very possibly an inherent desire to fill a certain lacuna. It's like an endless space in everyone, that needs to be filled simply because their "Manufacturer" put "eternity" in there. But how can you fill Eternity without Eternity Himself? That's why He did say assuredly thus; "Except a man is born a second time, he shall not(see) "experience"/ know or be acquainted with, the Kingdom/Heaven of God. See why it's important to have a new birth? The new birth always completes your belief with an experience of divine realities. |
darichlife:Fortunately, because such things don't exist, He doesn't open anyone's eyes to see them. Only the enemy does those kinds of "eye opening", in the guise of religion. He'd rather open your eyes to see how much He loves you, to the point He transfers His own ability to be right; which is never a state of correctness of things but a power, into your account, immediately you make a choice to accept His Son, Jesus Christ into your life. That's why He is so just and loving. Don't get it twisted again, Christianity isn't one of them...religions. |
Sapiosexuality:Religion taught you God is the one who throws people into hell. Have you ever fathomed why this God has been on about ensuring no one goes there? To the point of sending His only son to ensure that? That whoever "believes" in Him shouldn't perish(in hell)? Do you have an idea how many souls He freed from a temporary replica of hell, when He resurrected? On the flip side, it's the resident of hell, who needs company and wants many to join him over there. Don't get it twisted. |
BeansAndBread:That's not a Christian doctrine and Christianity is reality. Kindly know that it is not God who wants to punish sinners in hell. It is the devil who needs sinners to keep him company in hell. That's why Christians are charged with the heartbeat of God; soul winning in order to rescue folks from going along with the devil to hell; For God so loved the world(everyone including sinners) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believed in Him, WILL NOT PERISH, but have ever lasting life. John 3:16. Read it in several versions slowly and let it enter your spirit. You'll realise God loves you so much. |
leye4u:Very instructive. Thanks for this. Just to let you know, your write up has been reposted on WhatsApp platforms, so more eyes can be opened. God bless you. |
If you have ever seen it on any decent lady, then maybe it could just be harmless but the class/category of ladies who wear them says a lot to the discerning mind. From the comments for, it's obvious those who wear for fashion do so for the seductive aspect of fashion. Decent and godly ladies don't have their minds daily focused on seductive fashion. That leaves out the other category, who don't give a heck doing anything for money. Expect anything dating such. |
egbabiekperemo1:You just typed nonsense because you have no sense. |
Still so hard for folks to distinguish between Christianity and religion. Topic for another day. To the discourse, humans were created for God's pleasure and purposes and will forever have that natural inclination to worship Him and contrary to what Mr. Reno has posited, many folks find it a lot easier to worship God, attend services, participate in church activities, when they're a lot comfortable financially and have less to worry about. It's my experience that when the credit alerts increase and bills get settled without stress, I am easily able to create time to attend extra church programs, because of the reduced hustling time. Majority of folks who attend church services these days are very comfortable financially. There was never a boom in church attendance in the days when the saying; "as poor as a church rat" prevailed. The attendance boom came with the prosperity insights and experience of today's glorious church. That said, poverty is what actually drives people away from worshipping God as they tend to seek other means to overcome it. An hungry man will hardly be able to observe morning devotions talk more of the fare and other expenses of attending church services. Poor folks are even scared of offering time during services. The church has been doing a great job especially in Africa, giving people hope, changing their lots through spiritual principles that deliver them from poverty, hence doing what most African Government's have been unable to do. The continued triumphs of the church in Africa is the only reason the continent isn't up in flames right now. You may say there's so much corruption but if not for messages from the altar of God, changing people's attitudes, it would have spiralled out of control. The folks who travel out and forget God isn't because they're more comfortable, it's more often than not because they're working 2/3 jobs to keep up with being second class citizens in a foreign land, where bills must be settled to continue to enjoy infrastructure provided by the Government. Lakewood church, The Potter's House and many other churches in the US are megachurches populated by vibrant young and rich folks. So, next time you're looking to blame anything, blame your governments. |
Life well lived. Did the only useful thing there is. Impacted the world for Jesus Christ. Read the 4th Dimension as a teenager. |
Tpc:You're right, but even if he talked to the folks in the right department, he may still get same dumb reply. I have spoken to such in the past who aren't even aware of interventions such as the DBN, clearly advertised by their own bank websites. Now, you don't apply to DBN directly, your commercial bank must channel it. Case closed if your bank nor even know wetin dem suppose do. |
othermen:While your points here are valid and the OP should make use of one or two of them, the fact is most of those bank employees are plain daft, rigid and unknowledgeable even about products on their bank websites. One such place to discuss great ideas should likely be the corporate affairs department at the HQ's of banks, perchance one may meet more knowledgeable, flexible and creative folks there. You see those ones at the branch offices, 90% of them are confirmed zombies. They just garbage in and out. |
Wouldn't it be nicer if comments were based on experience? The Bible admonishes in Jude verse 20, which has only a chapter for believers to "build up their faith, praying in the HolySpirit". What does that mean? A believer can surely stir up the Spirit by constantly praying in the Spirit(speaking in tongues), as the Holy Spirit helps to align his/her prayers with God's will. That's what Paul meant when he mentioned the HolySpirit helping our infirmities in the book of Romans, as sometimes we do not honestly know what or how we should pray. e.g you wake up fatigued and not in the mood to pray. At such times, start with speaking in tongues and watch as the Spirit helps you pray for even much longer than you normally will. Now, the fact that the folks from different nations understood what the apostles said on the day of Pentecost doesn't mean we should think it happens that way all the time. You can't put God in a box. For Pete's sake, there was a crowd and it was the first time to happen. It was obviously expedient at the time. The fact that you don't understand what someone has spoken in tongues doesn't invalidate it as someone else may, if it will serve the Spirit's purpose. Doubting thomases and generation of vipers will hardly see the sign they so much demand. Interpretation is only required when someone is delivering a message of the Spirit to a congregation for the sake of understanding/edification, so that the congregants can carry out the Spirit's instructions. Isn't that common sense? For experience, when I pray in the Spirit, it as an added advantage, helps me communicate expressly with God if and when I switch to my own understanding as the Spirit brings to my memory scriptures which align with my requests and demands, causing me not to use my own ordinary and sometimes selfish words but what God has said in scriptures. With that, I've always had 100% confidence my prayers are answered and that's been my reality. I always get results. To the OP's question, every one who has surrendered and confessed the Lord Jesus has the Holy Spirit in them and should speak in tongues. What hinders most people is mostly wrong doctrines that it happens like magic with your tongue twisted and speaking exact foreign languages, like a lot of folks on this platform seem to believe. As a kid, I prayed and fasted intensely hoping for that magic to happen to no avail until I saw the truth in God's word. Don't let the devil deny you of the great benefits of praying in tongues because you're waiting for that kind of magic. Praying in tongues has saved me from a very fatal accident. That day, I had said my morning prayers already in my understanding and was rounding up when I was moved to pray in the Spirit. Thank God I did. Little did I know what was to happen that day. The Holy Spirit is a gift Jesus Christ promised to believers to be their comforters as well as teach them all things. Fill yourself up with the word of God, simply open your mouth and the Holy Spirit will fill it. Each believer is given utterance by the HolySpirit with a responsibility of constantly stirring up the Spirit in spiritual songs, hymns, psalms, prayers etc. No need to learn from another believer. |
It all depends on your taste. One sure thing; the said amount can build a conservative 2/3bed bungalow to habitable standards, floor, wall and other finishes excluded. By habitable standards, I mean you can have a simple roof system, entrance and exit security doors, windows(sliding ones maybe), basic toilet and kitchen fittings and a screeded floor, enough for you to inhabit till cash flow increases. |
Pathokpo:Yes, the scripturally sound more like. It's religious misunderstanding of the Word that makes people think like that. Just like the case of alcohol, most things religion term as sin are actually more like common sense principles that humans should naturally imbibe, but for the hardness of men's hearts, had to be stated as laws in the old testament. The scripture actually uses the word "pertains", which means "belongs" as a part, member or accessory. Deuteronomy 22:5 [5]The woman shall not wear that which pertains to a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all that do so are an abomination to the Lord your God. Why on earth would you want to wear your sister's feminine high waist denim? Isn't that naturally stupid? Much like smoking that the ministry of health warns that those who do are liable to die young, yet you find mature folks engage in it against all common sense. |
slawormiir:Drinking alcohol is not a sin o, but hear what the Word of God says about the experiences of those who indulge in it. Proverbs 23:29-32 [29]Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness and dimness of eyes? [30]Those who tarry long at the wine, those who go to seek and try mixed wine. [Prov. 20:1; Eph. 5:18.] [31]Do not look at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the wineglass, when it goes down smoothly. [32]At the last it bites like a serpent and stings like an adder. The choice is yours. Very sure you saw red wine mentioned in the text. That's how complete the Bible is. |
Nostalgic indeed. HALITA is even more fantastic and the only series worth watching on DSTV, others are recycled stories, actors and producers. |
Kobojunkie:Its now crystal clear where you belong. For your information, we are not unaware of your esoteric company, the likes that seek to attain a state they call christ in competition with Christ himself. Your understanding of the scriptures can't be confused with true Holy Spirit inspiration, for the devil himself knows the Word, which is why I refrained from a quoting competition with you. In your pursuit, I really do hope and pray you come to a screeching halt just before you're plunged into the same ignominy those who went ahead of you seeking knowledge in the wrong places, found themselves. On this forum, your mischievous devices are of none effect on every child of God, active and passive in the precious Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is Lord. The devils know it also and tremble. That includes you. |
Kobojunkie:You really don't have to be up against the same church of Jesus Christ you claim to base your comments on. If there are insights you have and feel others don't, isn't it better to submit totally to God's calling and enlighten from the inside out just like Pastor Chris of C.E has done for so many years and today, a lot of wrong perceptions have been changed. You shouldn't be for the kingdom and then be against her, at the same time. |
Kobojunkie:Sorry, got into something else. I ask because of the paradoxical nature of your comments with a subtleness that seems kind of anti-church(careful not to use anti-Christ), even though you seem to have a knowledge that challenges likely erroneous beliefs systems, which has been setting you up against most other people here. Any which way, I am interested in having the full details of your thoughts on the topics at hand. Kindly go on. |
Kobojunkie:Interesting, go on please. |
Kobojunkie:Are you a believer? |
Interesting thread, full of insights. Pray the eyes of those who are yet to know Christ will be opened to see what they're actually missing out on. Carrying all of The Fullness of God literally everywhere you go, in the person of The Holy Spirit isn't something to miss out on at all. I have spoken to batteries, phones et al and they start working by the Power of The Holy Spirit, in the Name of Jesus. Such wonderful daily experiences. Still deciphering kobojunkie's motive though but s/he sounds like s/he is for the kingdom with knowledge that I agree with, to a large extent. What I find contradictory however, are the attacks against the Kingdom s/he seems to know much about. My understanding of his/her point on this thread is the fact that there are growth stages in Christ even though I think s/he muddled it up with The Baptism of The Holy Spirit, which happens once and at the point of salvation and not as a result of any personal effort. Being filled with The Spirit however as some have already posited, is a command we should obey to constantly stay in fellowship. Whether or not there's a higher spiritual class that God is able to promote us to, based on our maturity in the things of God, is something for us all to research. The Word after all says; "The path of the just shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day". |
Bash92:What you said is an understatement. It was crystal clear from the kick off of the final showdown Kingdom was miles ahead of the others. That only means one thing; the show ain't competitive. |
The issue really is a lot of folks can't fathom the excellence and glory being displayed by the Church. They had erroneous beliefs thinking that if it wasn't poor, ugly, cringing and maybe gullible, it shouldn't be righteous or holy. So, when the church displays excellence in it's administration and other aspects of existence, their minds can't accept it. They prefer to continue with "the as poor as a church rat" or even the "holy people always dress unattractively" mentality. So, they couldn't even imagine church getting rich, talk more of putting in place common sense mechanisms in ensuring it's development. On the other hand, they prefer it that way, so the church can remain ineffective and lose souls that otherwise should be saved. But they haven't seen anything yet. They're still envious of church organisations now. Very soon, they'll start losing sleep over the blessedness and effectiveness of individual believers worldwide. |
walexProjects:Absolutely. We'll make contact soon sir. Cheers. |
Xandre:You're right. |
stancydg:Eventually, it turns out this guy that was dropped and almost insulted during the audition stages of Nigerian Idols by the judges, makes it to the top 6 on The Voice Nigeria. Isn't that amazing? Moral: Always believe in yourself.
